What a magical place tucked away in the mountains! The Wildebeesthoek Nature Reserve was the perfect escape from Joburg. The cottage was perfectly equipped for a winter weekend stay with a fireplace to keep us warm. Lots of bird life right outside our windows, and a short walk out to the cosy bird hide treated us to some great wildlife sightings. It was a truly memorable stay from start to finish, and we look forward to visiting again! Thank you to Amelia, Rahim and the team for everything!

We really enjoyed our stay at Wildebeesthoek Nature Reserve. The house was atmospheric, very clean, very well equipped and situated in a beautiful environment. We were welcomed with fresh flowers on the table. We love the birds and it was so nice to get the opportunity to read the names of the trees in the park and to meet giraffes and other animals during our walk. Our visit to the restaurant Honey Company was a real treat. We struggled with the red signet walk; for us pensioners, it was a bit of a struggle.
Tranquil and peaceful.
Not really much for the kids to do. Never saw any animals at the water hole sadly. Lovely staff, perfect for relaxing, sleeping, and a bit of walking. Chalet was lovely. No TV was a problem for kids and rugby.
The stay was absolutely wonderful. Will travel back to this slice of heaven anytime. Had the best weekend.
The place was perfect. Photos on the website only give you half an idea of what it looks like. It's 100 times better once you're there. The house and the area were spotlessly clean and have plenty of space. The kitchen has everything you need. The host was always available to help.
It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever found, so neat and clean. We had an incredibly nice stay. It feels like you are really waking up among the trees. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The host was very accommodating and helpful.
We had the most relaxing weekend in this very special place. The accommodation is outstanding with such amazing attention to detail in ensuring guests' comfort and the gardens are magnificent. There are two hikes onsite. We did the red route which was a little more difficult but the views are magnificent and it is really well signposted (except right at the end where we made our own way back!). Highly recommended. We can't wait to go back for more!
The reception by Rahim was warm and the Treehouse is particularly beautiful, fully equipped and comfortable. We were spoiled from morning to night with a beautiful view of the garden, squirrels playing everywhere and a large variety of bird species. Some simply came to meet in person on the stoep. This place to stay is definitely recommended and we will visit them again soon.

The warm reception by phone and welcome in person by Rahim ushered in a wonderful weekend. The house, in a fantastic garden, is very comfortable with everything one needs. Beds are excellent for ensuring a good night's rest. We saw impala and kudu on the trails and learned more about trees, which were identified with tags. Various measures make one feel safe and the wonderful silence is incredible, given how close it is to the city.

You can't get closer to nature! The hiking trails wind through the forest or up the mountain where you can see zebras, giraffes and goats right here close to you! If you are an outdoors person who likes bird watching, go here! The house inside is stylish and so elegant. The fireplace with your 2 bags of free wood is welcoming. The beds sleep extremely well and the bedding has the most deliciously soft feel and smells so good! There is everything you need. and even more. Filtered water tap in your sink, large modern fridge, sugar and welcome coffee. The lovely deck that is close to the trees and you can sit for hours and watch the squirrels frolic in the branches. I can't say or find anything wrong with the place. There isn't a TV but there is WiFi, so teenagers might find it boring, but for us it's heavenly to just be able to spend time together in nature. We'll be going back again in the summer so we can enjoy that outdoor shower sitting on the mountainside! Congratulations on your excellent place!

We stayed in the Bird House which is a beautiful, spacious and tidy unit. The unit is opposite the Magaliesberg with beautiful scenery. It's wonderfully quiet and peaceful and we really enjoyed our stay! It's an ideal getaway spot.
