Wilderness Metanoia, a 16-hectare estate, is a place of quiet contemplation, where silence and solitude are measured by the harmony and tranquillity of the Outeniqua Mountains. The surrounding indigenous forest which provides habitat to nearly 200 species of birds and wildlife such as monkeys, baboons, bushbuck, porcupine, bush pig and occasional caracal, leopards and otters.

On-site facilities include holiday accommodation in the form of self-catering chalets and apartments, a swimming pool, tennis court, wooden treetop walkways with breathtaking views of the surrounding indigenous forest and a walking trail to the nearby Silver River.

Clairewood's private walking trail winds through the indigenous forest and along the Silver River, affording you the opportunity to encounter birds like the brilliantly coloured Knysna Loerie, or one of the five kingfisher species, the red-billed wood hoopoe, Knysna woodpecker, paradise flycatcher or lesser double-collared sunbird. You may also take a refreshing swim in the river's natural pools. Facilities on site include a swimming pool, tennis court and private walking trail through the forest that meander along the banks of the Silver River.

Wilderness lies 15 km east of George, between the Kaaimans River in the West and the Goukamma Nature Reserve in the east, bordered by the Outeniqua Mountains in the north and the Indian Ocean in the south. Wilderness not only overlooks the sea, but also the placid lagoon, the Serpentine, which meanders between the Touw River, Island Lake and Rondevlei.
