In the mornings, the cleaning ladies only came to clean at 10 o'clock, which was convenient so that you can enjoy breakfast in peace first and can often prepare for the new day. They treated me with respect and kindness.

Nice quiet environment close to Wilgers Hospital. Steep access and stairs can be a challenge. There was no toilet paper and towels in the room upon arrival. After we asked it was provided without problems.
Very friendly reception, just a pity that WIFI does not work and that there were stairs as my husband could not climb stairs due to his knee. Would also recommend a shower and possibly a small stove or maybe an air fryer.
Room 1 is comfortable and safe. Cleaning service during stay would be a plus. Hostess very friendly and helpful.

Bitterly disappointed. Wake up in the middle of the night with people running around in the street screaming! Neighbors sit and smoke all the smoke comes into the room! Place is clean and tidy, but old!
My daughter booked the place for me so that I could be close to the hospital while my husband was in the hospital. The stay was like an oasis for me where I could relax amidst all the stress about my husband's hospitalization. Everything was beautiful and neat. I had peace of mind because the place was located so close to the hospital. Anagrette went out of her way to make my stay as pleasant as possible.

The location of Die Wilgers Gastehuis was perfect for my purposes, the hospital was within walking distance which was beneficial for my specific need. The room was beautifully furnished with only the essentials that a visitor appreciates for that quick cold thing or to heat something up quickly for a hungry magic.
Quiet and peaceful and big enough rooms. We were in number 1 and 2. The stairs by the kitchen and shower are a problem for old people. My mother is 83 and it is not safe for her.

For our purposes (hospital) it was close to everything! Our sole purpose was to be close to the hospital. It's going to vary from person to person and everyone has to decide for themselves! The nature is beautiful and would like to see even more of it.
No customer service. No one was expecting us. I booked two rooms. Had to ring the bell until eventually the cleaning lady showed up. Could not find our names on the bookings. She asked me to phone the owner. Eventually we got room 3 and 5. No time to unpack because of time lapse with checking in, so we had to go back to the hospital. When I got back at 20h30 not lights climbing up the stairs to room 5 and dark, unlocking the door only the bathroom light worked and one bedside lamp. In the morning we had to stand around and wonder where to leave the keys until another guest directed us.
There was no customer service upon arrival. Had to stand round and look for someone to help with check-in, only to find out our names are not on the list. Had to make phone calls to the manager to get someone to check us in. The following morning had to stand around again to check out and another guest could helped me find the manager to give in the keys. There is no communication or customer service. Will not recommend.
Very convenient and comfortable guest house for those that have loved ones in hospital at Wilgers.
The reception was warm and I immediately felt at home. Clean, neat and quiet.
Overall, the Guest House lacks attention. Many light bulbs are e.g. out of order and the kitchen tools and cutlery can be replenished. The roof fan in the living area is also out of order.

The place is over-all nice and cozy but the problem is when we checked in, the power was off. It only came back at 2 am. We would have enjoyed it more if they had generator. But we will come back.

We live on a farm in Mpumalanga and are not used to city noises at all, so usually our overnight stay in the city is a nightmare. This time it felt like home: birds singing in the trees, badgers peering at me from the rocks.
Very comfortable and convenient stay. Something bit me and my little girl last night, looks like flea bites! The marks are still there. Thanks for the fans in the room to cool off in the heat.

It was terribly hot during our stay and our host kindly brought us extra fans for the upstairs bedrooms. This made a big difference. The rooms are comfortable and clean, quiet area, would certainly stay there again!

The unit we were given had sleeping space for 4 people, but cutlery was only for 3 people. However, we were 4. One bed is a folding bed with a mattress full of lumps. We only have my little girl sleep on the double bed with us, she just couldn't have slept on this bed at all. According to our booking it should have been a 6 bed unit, I think it would have made the experience more pleasant if we got the right unit. The bath was terribly dirty and full of dust. I had to wash it before we could bathe. One can also hear every movement of the guests who stayed above us. The floor creaks a lot. Makes it hard to sleep. The second night when we got to the room, there were still keys in the door. So anyone could have gained access. Overall, the accommodation feels like it needs attention.

Breakfast is apparently available on request, but when my parents requested breakfast they were told that breakfast was not provided. The photos on the website are misleading. It is "self catering" but there are no pots or pans in the units to prepare food and there were no large plates in the unit. My parents were moved to a better unit when they complained about the leaking shower. There was no soap available (which you expect from a B&B, ie something advertised as a B&B).
