As a solo traveler it is perfect. It's nice and close to the N1 and easy to get in and out of for a quick stopover and to travel further afield.

We made the reservation on the website late in the afternoon and quickly received an answer that there was room for us. We were very happy with the accommodation. Unfortunately we forgot our laptop and laptop charger there and the aunt quickly let us know it was there the next morning. So thankful for her honesty! We were very happy with the place to stay. The aunt didn't ask extra for my 3-year-old boy either. We were 2 adults, one 14 year old and our little 3 year old boy.
The units were clean but freezing and very small. The water was nice and hot and the beds were clean, large, very comfortable and warm with plenty of extra blankets.

Very limited space for meal preparation or sitting except on bed or at small table with 1 chair. (We were 3 adults). Rules with fines applied in unity make one feel a little unwelcome, e.g. fine if you are out at 10 and not 9. The hostess was very accommodating with space for our pram and moved her car to make room for us. We had enough privacy. We wouldn't be able to stay more than 1 night with the amount of space.
Staying at Windmill Guest House we felt at home, friendly people.
The guesthouse is very close to the N1 (both directions) and access to the motorway and guesthouse is very easy, close to the Windmill Casino Spur and an Engen filling station. Sunette immediately made us feel at home and the parking for my trailer was no problem. We will definitely book there again.

Bad neighbours in room next door who came in at 2:30 and had little respect for others sleeping or trying to sleep.

Windmill Guest House's room we stayed in was very small, but there's a nice fridge, microwave, TV and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The room has basic plates, cups etc. The pillows on the bed really needs attention, they're super flat. Breakfast is extra. Host is very friendly. The N1 is close to the guest house and is extremely noisy at night, might be an issue to someone who's a light sleeper. Guest house is good enough for an overnight stay.

Just recommend a small basin in the kitchen to wash cups and glasses after use. A basin is available in the bathroom but it's not convenient to do dishes in. Other than that, we had a lovely stay. Unfortunately we had to urgently leave the next day and couldn't stay for the second night. We felt very safe with the cctv cameras and electronic gate. We slept well. Windmill Guest House is comfortably furnished for overnight accommodation. The environment is nice and quiet and restaurants are accessible at the casino which is located near Windmill. The children had access to the back garden where they could play with the two friendly Jack Russels. Breakfast was optionally added and was very nicely prepared and was enough to start the day with. A cold wind came through the window above the bed and it was already cold in Bloem. No further complaints though. Had a good night's sleep.
Room does not meet guest house standards, very compact, dirty shower and water leaking problems with shower.
Everything was good. Although the sink is a bit small for shaving, etc.

The hostess went out of her way to help me. I had trailer problems and was on my way to Cape Town. She really helped me. Furthermore, she packed a delicious breakfast for me and my daughters to eat along the way.

It was very neat and clean. All I would suggest is to put a fan in the room it was very hot and we opened the windows for ventilation but then the mosquitoes ate us up. And then the fact that our car had to be parked behind the house which we couldn't see at all.

It was pleasant and the service friendly. I would recommend that at least coffee is put out for 2 coffee drinks.
We were in the room for less than 30 minutes before we decided to take the long way rather than spend the night there. The room was neat enough, but there was also no chair to sit on. I reckon we could manage without a chair for one night, but the biggest disappointment was that there is no door in front of the 'bathroom'. The shower and toilet are IN the room. There is no door. Unfortunately, it was not acceptable for us to spend the night like this. The room is supposed to sleep 3, and I don't know of anyone who would use toilet facilities if 2 other people are looking after them. Thanks again for Sunnette's offer to refund us the money.
