Convenient location and has a very nice view of the wildlife outside. The owner was very friendly and helpful. There was a unit above our unit with steel stairs and the guests staying there were very disturbing because it was right above us. Furthermore, there was no hand soap, something one would expect from an overnight stay. There was also dust in the bathroom and the unit smelled of smoke even though a no smoking notice was posted. Some of the linen had marks on it and the towels were old and put us off a bit. But at least we slept well.

Stay was ok, room was great. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom as we normally experience at other guest houses. Although the owner supplied from her personal stock. We struggled to sleep as another group of rowdy young ladies were partying next door until 1 am in the morning. I called the owner after 12 am and she proceeded to check on them. They continued until 1 am. There was no WiFi available as advertised.
It was a pleasant stay. However, some of the rooms had dirty linen and one room had brown water coming out of the taps with lots of dust lying around the room too.

We had a great stay, but unfortunately the dark cloud over everything was that the breakfast was R115 per person. The owner did not inform us about the price at all and it was the price that had to be paid for egg, sausage, bacon and a slice of toast.
Made prior arrangements with the owner and he helped out a lot which made my stay easier regarding checking in and staying at the accommodation. Place is not far from stores for any needs you may require. The accommodation is suited for all ages and provides different facilities to cater one's needs.
Just a lot of stairs, otherwise everything was neat in the room. I suggest that there is at least bottled water available in the unit. We were unsure if the water was potable to use in the boiler.

We were at a wedding not far from Windmills Rest and it was nice to be able to just drive around the corner and be at our destination the evening after the wedding.
The room was lovely and clean. The only thing was the shower floor needs a good scubbing and then the taps and shower head shock you, so that is very dangerous.
The beds were very comfortable. It is a quiet, peaceful area. All problem was a faucet in the sink that leaked constantly. Earlier in the afternoon I asked the lady for soft drinks and water to buy, which I am still waiting for. Their card machine was faulty so I just paid cash. I think they can work on their reception, it was just done by the cleaner. Personally, I wouldn't stay there again, the next night we were in a smaller place and cheaper, but much more welcoming. I immediately regretted booking at Windmills Rest. Don't know if there was WiFi as that information was not passed on. Luckily had my own.
The rooms are very cold as the heating didn’t work in my room, so we were very cold - there are thin blankets to counter the cold. The family room and double suite also had issues with heating. Room 311’s shower electrocuted us when we ran a shower and we made sure not to shower the next morning. Can this be resolved as it’s the most dangerous thing I have seen in a while. The door for 311 was difficult to unlock when you are inside - overall we were glad it was just an overnight spot - lots of room for growth.
The facility did not supply any soap or shampoo, something I would expect at a B&B. The husband being the main contact at the establishment does not communicate with his wife the manager. There was an unfortunate misunderstanding which tainted our stay.
The unit is large, clean and tidy. The unit is further away from the main house and did not have full DSTV and no free wi-fi as advertised. The reception office did not look professional and was very disorganized. It would create a much better impression if it was neat. The security gate has a weird little lock and we struggled to unlock it every time. The guest house was very close to our daughter's wedding venue and therefore very convenient.
No soap in the bathroom, no milk, there was one last piece of toilet paper on the roll, and towels were not neatly folded.

Breakfast was not value for money at all. Bread was like rubber, food was ice cold, there was no milk or creamer for coffee in the room.
We stayed at Windmills Rest for the weekend and were not very impressed. The photos make it look like a different place than it really is. In some rooms there was only one towel, even though two people paid. Cutlery was messy and not enough (only one fork for two guests). Towels were yellow stained and hard. There was also no soap to wash your hands with. The bathroom floor and shower were very dirty and there was dust everywhere.
It was clean and all I needed was a bed. Maybe WiFi would be an added advantage.

We stayed in the Hani room and it was very clean and safe. However, it is not mentioned that the Hani room is a unit that is on the top floor. It requires a lot of style climbing. It would be nice if it was indicated on the website.
Room was clean and well kept however the price for the overall offering was high. In future, we will go with more affordable accommodation elsewhere that will give us better value for money!

Upon arrival I was welcomed by Nicole. After she let me in and showed me around, my time there was private and tranquil, safe and had all that I needed.
I was sceptical at first, as the price seemed rather cheap, but I can truly say that this is the best establishment that I have been to in a while. Beautifully decorated and spacious rooms, everything you need, including a wonderful comfortable bed. Quiet, central, relaxing and safe with lovely hosts. I can truly recommend this place.
