215 guests' feedbackThe accommodation in the Annex was not good. Beds were far too short for an adult and therefore very uncomfortable. The basin in the bathroom was completely inaccessible as it was in a small alcove - no space for shoulders to fit.
This was the second time that we have been at the Windsor, and we are glad that we came back. It was as good as we expected.
Excellent way of celebrating my birthday. I was in Cloud Nine, waking up with the rumbling of the sea and a view of the mountains.

Thank you, I had a great stay. However, pay attention to the water supply in the bathrooms. My colleague and I, who stayed in the rooms next to mine, experienced problems where the water in the shower suddenly turned freezing cold while showering. It wasn't nice and I had to stand aside and hope it warmed up again because I was washing her hair. It took quite a few minutes to warm up again, but one can only turn on the hot tap. As soon as you turn on the cold tap slightly to control the temperature of the hot water, the water becomes cold.

The stay was pleasant, and the breakfast, which is included in the stay, was excellent. The majority of the staff are friendly and always helpful. The location is great; it's across the way from the sea, and because you can walk to all restaurants and shops, you don't need to drive. Just one criticism is that the rooms do not have a microwave to warm up food, so you need to take your food to the hotel kitchen to have it warmed up.
It was nice and quiet. A little more milk at the coffee station would have been nice. Breakfast great! A welcome drink would have been a nice welcome.
Unfortunately we had a room that had an incredible amount of lumps. I killed 15 lumps and there were more that made noise while we slept. It was unfortunately not a very nice stay, breakfast was very nice and the service was very good.

The carpets in the sea-facing rooms are in need of refreshing as they have an odour obviously caused by moisture. Perhaps when they upgrade they can use laminated floors on top of the wood.

Friendly and helpful staff. Was able to accommodate our dietary requirements with no problem. In fact they told us that they can accommodate us when we asked one or two questions regarding the breakfast. What is needed is another armchair in the room when it's booked for 2 people.

The lady at reception allowed us to move up one floor as the ground level rooms are right on the street and have no view if there is any car parked there. It is not like the sea view in the picture. I don't think they can sell the ground floor rooms as sea view. Or they may just need to warn the customer. Overall we had a great time with friendly service.

The Windsor Hotel Hermanus has a long and interesting history, and was initially set up as a sanatorium.
Parking is a challenge.
We only stayed one night, but the room was very neat, as was the reception and portal.

Great location in Hermanus - walking distance to old Harbour, central town and restaurants and markets. Room given smelt damp and was stuck in the back of hotel - and looked really run down. Spoke to helpful lady in reception who relocated me to a suitable room. Hotel showing signs of being run down, but location is great, value for money fair and the breakfast included was very good - although go to town for a decent coffee rather.

Rooms are nice, some of them are small, bathroom fans are noisy, short cleaning. Will change color of room. Bench seat for looking out to sea.
The old part of the hotel is run down. Room 40. The furniture looks like it came from an antique junk shop. Drawer handles are missing. The carpets are old and full of stains. The modern bathroom is totally unfriendly for older people, like me, to bathe or shower. There is a smell of old sewer pipes in the bathroom. The price is really too high just to see a piece of sea through the balcony door. Minimal effort is made with guests - everything and everyone just provides the basics. The breakfast is good and the kitchen staff very helpful. Covid measures are a joke. No sanitizers in the room. The bedding and towels were the best of everything in the room. The old part must be restored.
This after I asked for a sea view. There is no air conditioning and the fans are dirty. The bathroom fan is noisy and broken. The TV is crooked and the bed is too hard.

My husband and I stayed over for one night and enjoyed a lovely breakfast at the hotel. The location is superb! If you want to explore Hermanus on foot then this hotel is perfect. The interior is very old (yet interesting when you think of the history of the building itself). Our room was sea facing with a beautiful view of the coastline. The bathroom had no shower (besides the shower head in the bath tub, perhaps the hotel should look at renovating). The television also didn't have great signal and should be checked by housekeeping before checking in guests. The chocolates and biscuits/oat bars was quite a treat on arrival. Overall it's a very nice place to be but at R950 per night there is surrounding guest houses that are more modern and which offer the same experience.
Staff is helpful and friendly. View is incredible. Rooms are clean, but needs a revamp. I saw they are busy with renovations in the bottom rooms.
First impression counts - The room was very small and needed some upgrading but the sea view made it worth it. The shower in bath tends to leak and mess over floor, maybe can think of fitting in a proper shower. The breakfast is really good and always more than enough and gets served with friendly faces.

We enjoyed the stay. The beds are very comfortable. The tiles above the bath needs some attention: it is full of mould and very dirty. Also wish that they put a handle on the inside of the bedroom door so that you can open it.
We changed our room and upgraded when we arrived, the standard room that was booked was depressing, somewhere in the back in an old renovated flat building. No view, although the page showing photos, showed with view. A bit misleading when you look at the advertising. The upgraded room was in the front, clean, with sea view, it was better. The hotel is old and dated, needs a serious upgrade to bring back the old charm again.

We really enjoyed the stay, except that the shower in the bath didn't work so well vir a big guy like me. The TV signal went off a few times, but nonetheless we really enjoyed it.

The hotel is very neat and within walking distance of all the businesses and restaurants. Wonderful breakfast in the morning but unfortunately no dinners. Disadvantages are the lack of a house bin and stairs quite narrow and steep for handling luggage to the third floor.

What we would suggest is that they put a better TV and maybe DStv in the room, as well as a bar fridge and fridge... even a microwave.
The room was very basic and old fashioned. Towels were hard - dry well without Stasoft. The breakfast was very good.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. With breakfast there were no complaints. When we asked for a sea view room, they helped us right away the next day. The hotel is within walking distance of all restaurants and shopping centers. LekkeSlaap, thank you very much for your help.
The hotel is perfectly located in the town, with the sea on your doorstep. We could sit quietly in the lobby at night and look at the sea and listen to the sound of the waves. Wonderfully peaceful! Breakfast is an experience: a very, very large variety to choose from. Delicious! The service at the Windsor Hotel is friendly! We will definitely do so again!

The Windsor is an olde world delight, as it has retained it's old world charm. The position is fantastic, the breakfasts great and the rooms more than adequate. I'll definitely go back for another visit!
