It was a pleasant stay. The environment was very peaceful, and the area is quiet too. The staff are very friendly. We will see you guys soon again. We enjoyed the greenery. Just a suggestion: you guys should get a trolley braai stand closer to the apartment, especially in cold weather. The gas heater did not work. The WiFi was available, but when our phones are connected, it disconnects every time, so we must reconnect.
Whilst we were staying under stressful circumstances (death in the family), it met our needs perfectly for the time we were there. The hostess and staff were all exceptionally kind and helpful and went above and beyond what we needed or were expecting for a self-catering unit. The location is very convenient, safe, quiet & beautiful. It made the tragic circumstances a lot more manageable.

The stay was pleasant. Some maintenance is needed in the apartment. Wrong telephone number though in booking info and arrival (number of the previous manager), the person was very annoyed, thus correct entrance was difficult to find on arrival. Also, the wrong info on the website, the place is not pet-friendly but stated as pet-friendly on the website.

It wasn't unpleasant, the TVs didn't work, there was a problem with hot water and the WiFi signal wasn't very good. It needs some maintenance, the doors are very tight.
Place is lovely but the room is very cold in winter. They need to make guests more comfortable with heaters, etc. Our guests also had no WiFi for their entire stay. It was an area issue; however, a solution like a data modem should have been found.

Wine Route 44 Guesthouse is a quiet peaceful place, ideal for a long stay. The facilities are excellent, and I appreciated the 24/7 power, which is rare in South Africa today. The TV room was comfortable, and I enjoyed watching the rugby.

Fairly neat accommodation, but what made the stay unpleasant for me was that there was never hot water.
We had to wait 45 minutes for our hostess to arrive and let us in. They do not live on site. If they have covered parking, we certainly were not offered any. There is a fridge, microwave and kettle in the unit, but no crockery and cutlery. Cooking and/or catering needs to be done from a communal kitchen. The dining room and lounge are also a communal affair. Not our idea of privacy. The facility is on one of the main traffic routes, so traffic noise at peak hour is quite intense. The TV is the size of my computer monitor! The lead for the fridge lies across the entrance to the passage of the house. Not safe for oldies. No bar soap was supplied, only liquid soaps. I suppose we are just old-fashioned.

It was only 2 weeks after my mom's passing and I felt so depressed but the quietness and tranquillity of wine route 44 helped a lot, and it was my anniversary weekend.

We spent one night in Wine Route 44 Guesthouse. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. Convenient that there are 2 bathrooms. The garden is very beautiful. Jean was extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful when we had some family members over to celebrate our daughter's engagement. Appreciated it very much.
The stay was great. It is a house with individual rooms that are cleaned daily. Coffee, tea and rusks are also provided. The fridge and microwave for the room are inside your cupboard which means you can hang one item only with shelves for the rest. The safe is a nice addition though I didn't use it. My only gripe is the other guests who, if not considerate, will wake you in the middle of the night or early morning due to the noise.

The website should tell people the place is not wheelchair friendly. There was a power problem on the premises at the weekend that we had no power, had to wait for Jean to come and say what the problem was. There is a gas stove, but a gas boiler is missing. My partner could not use the bathroom and had to go to the nearest center to use the bathroom. Other than that, everything was convenient.
John was very friendly and helpful. Staff made us a nice fire.
The guest house is amazing, the housekeeper was really helpful - she offered us an extra mattress and set it up! Truly appreciated the coffee and rusks for settling-in purposes. The owner was great and very accommodating!

Wine Route 44 was neat and cosy on arrival and our first impressions were great. They have good facilities for a self-catering unit which is always helpful when traveling. The unit was spacious and nicely presented. Our issue came in when there was no hot water for showering, and being Cape Town in the middle of winter a cold shower is not ideal; even more so when traveling with young children. I am an understanding person and I know that sometimes things can go wrong so was patient in the matter. However, the issue was unable to be resolved so we checked out early. In requesting a refund for the remainder of the time we had paid for and were not able to stay, it has been incredibly frustrating to get a response from the person who is running the guest house. This has not been dealt with professionally. To add to the frustration there was also a flashing red light attached to the ceiling above where my child was sleeping, which interrupted his sleep throughout the night; and we found a pair of somebody else's socks left behind, which makes one think how well had the room been cleaned and prepared for new guests.

Beautiful place with very nice residential units and the most beautiful spacious, and clean beautiful swimming area. The 2 bedroom apartment is 5 star. Very pleasant and friendly owner. Everything was 100% above expectations. I will stay there again and again and recommend.

The place itself is neat and people are friendly. It's just a shame that the place is advertised in such a way that one expects it to be private. The photos made it look like there was a private patio and that the cottage was secluded. The cottage is basically located in the middle with people all around you and for guests who smoke, there is a designated smoking area to one side. Unfortunately, that area is also in a place where everyone can look for you, so it's not as private as it appears. The entrance we had to use is also very narrow with plants / trees scraping against the vehicles. If we had known all this in advance, we would not have booked there.
Overall good but could be better as they booked me in wrong room so I had to move. Took 2 days to respond to my initial mail. My friends had a toilet seat that fell off. Last minute they told me no breakfast included when on the net when I booked it only said that in the self catering units there was no breakfast. Price remained the same. Was very clean and staff friendly. Lovely place.
The geyzer water was cold did have to have cold showers going to hospital i had to shower Tv remotes not functioning overall the stay was pleasant.

This was a very nice place to stay. Rooms were cosy and neat. Nice garden for the kiddies to play and stretch their legs after a day of sight seeing around Somerset and Cape Town.
I wasn't able to check in until late at night, but Frank made a plan and I was able to get to my bed without any problems. It is safe and very close to where I needed to be. The room was tidy and catered for those who still have to catch up on e-mails until late.

Frank is the perfect host, even meeting our party with umbrellas ready to protect us from the rain. I cannot fault the accommodation, but would advise improvements to outside lighting and, in support of safety, upgrade of the walkways where water seems to puddle during rainy periods. Otherwise very peaceful surroundings with squirrels providing entertainment on the ground and trees and shopping mall about 5 minutes away.

The single rooms are in the main house. The preparation for the breakfast is noisy. There are no kettle and coffee / tea facilities in these rooms. There are only two DStv channels in the rooms. The WiFi was effective. The parking lot was safe.

The accommodation is comfortable, warm and friendly. The hosts are friendly and cleaning staff is helpful. We just had an uncomfortable first day, as we didn't have a key for the one bedroom we rented. And our neighbors were smoking excessively, which made our first day very uncomfortable and we all felt very sick from the smoke. The neighbors were only asked to stop smoking the next day after repeatedly pointing out the issue by SMS and verbally.
