Wings Self-catering Apartment has an eco-friendly sustainable tourism focus, located in the tranquil village of Suiderstrand, a unique village hemmed in on the landward side by the Agulhas National Park and the Atlantic Ocean on the seaward side, at the most southern tip of Africa. This self-catering apartment is located in the midst of nature with abundant bird-life, and just a short walk to the sea, it also has hiking and biking (MTB) trails.
The apartment can accommodate up to 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The main bedroom contains a double bed, and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath and a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. Guests are requested to bring their beach towels.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and contains a gas stove, electric oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, and cutlery and crockery. There is also a dishwasher and a washing machine. The dining area is a breakfast bar with stools, while the lounge has a comfy lounge suite and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV with a selection of OVHD channels. You are welcome to bring along your own DStv decoder and smart card and connect it to the TV. This apartment also offers a solar-powered electrical back up system.
Meals can also be enjoyed on the covered patio area where you can relax looking out over the tranquil natural fynbos garden in the presence of dozens endemic and near-endemic birds.
Wings’ front door faces east and is an idyllic place from where you can watch the moonrise over the limestone hills, and if you are lucky to hear the hoot of the eagle-owl, the squawk of the night-herons as they leave their roost to go and feed or hear the call of the fiery-necked night-jar. On dark nights the stars are so bright it feels as if they are close enough for you to pick the Southern Cross out of the Milky Way by hand.

Linda and Klaas, we go away every long weekend to different places by the sea. The Wings were the best so far. Friendly reception by Linda and her husband, Klaas. Apartment has everything you need and more. Very neat and clean. My wife can't stop talking about the nice shower. Beautiful still place the Suiderstrand. Nice fishing and just enjoying the scenery. Will definitely visit again. Thanks again for everything.
Linda and Klaas were so friendly and put out seeds and fruit to attract the birds. We enjoyed a good close-up sighting of the Acacia Pied Barbet. They were helpful in giving us info about birding spots in the area. The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed. Everything was perfect for our stay. Much appreciated. We found Wings Self-Catering Apartment to be modern, comfortable and very well equipped. Even though it is attached to the main house, it is still private and safe. We received more than expected, even braai wood and blitz were supplied. Also, enjoyed bird watching from the wooden deck and the stroll on the beach. Definitely pleasant and relaxing stay. Would love to visit again.

Absolute value for money and no load shedding as a bonus! Excellent neat facilities and open plan kitchen also very well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. Spacious living area and bedrooms with good mattresses and tiled floors for easy cleaning. Sea view from second bedroom and bathroom. Bathrooms are comfortable with a lovely large bath for the little ones and the gas geysers ensure that there is always enough heat. Braai facilities on the stoep are well protected from the wind and work well. Thank you very much Linda and Klaas, for your friendly and helpful hospitality and extra concessions. We will definitely come and break away at Wings again.

Good getaway, good fishing, good exploring, good nature.
The home is very well furnished with everything one needs (up to a dishwasher) and small items, such as foot brooms by the stairs to prevent sand from entering the house. The stoep is well sheltered from the wind, we had strong wind and felt nothing on the stoep. The environment is also very beautiful with lots of birds, which are also strategically attracted to the veranda's view.
Suiderstrand always value for money. Highly recommended, especially for longer visits.
Was on a fishing weekend so only slept there. Was very nice and would recommend it anytime.

When we arrived at Wings we already knew that we were going to have a nice rest here! We were greeted by the most beautiful wildlife and it on our doorstep! The unit is very neat and there is almost nothing missing. The dishwasher and washing machine are a huge bonus! The porch is lovely and when we weren't out hiking somewhere we were bird watching. A must for any nature lover and a birdwatcher's paradise. Thank you, Linda and Klaas, we will always come back. It was very close to perfect!

Everything was good. Boma will make a excellent addition to wings and maybe replace the fireplace on stoop with a woodburning jacuzzi.

This is home away from home. The unit is fully equipped with everything you need.
Excellent amenities. High ceilings, tiled floors, will get cold, have not tested inside hearth, but limited space to be able to enjoy it in separate corner of the living area. Really, neat, spacious rooms and everything you need for a comfortable stay. 1st class kitchenware. Braai facilities on the porch work well. Sea view from children's room and from bathroom but no view from master bedroom. Here we will switch off again!

The accommodation is comfortable, spacious, clean and tidy with quality kitchen equipment for your use. The gas geyser ensures that there is enough hot water for everyone.
Wonderful stay in a beautiful, peaceful setting, definitely a place we will stay again. Lots of things to do around the area, or just take a leisurely walk along the beach.
