The house has a beautiful back porch with views of the mountains and the Tulbagh Basin. The owner was quick to contact with easy instructions and tips for nearby activities. Highly recommended.
Great location and view. The perfect place for a peaceful city escape.
We had a great time and were also able to invite guests for a braai. The space of the rooms in the house and the natural beauty are good for the spirit. Hanging out on the porch is the best. It is hot in the summer, but good fans and mosquito nets ensure comfort. There is much to see and do in the area.
Beautiful area where you are surrounded by mountains. The view is amazing and we enjoyed the outside braai and cosy indoor fireplace on the cold winter nights. Exactly what we were looking for to get away from it all. Peter was of great assistance and suggested things to do which was an additional plus for a non local. Thanks again.

Amazing location between the mountains. Here you can breathe. The view is breathtaking. There are ponds for swimming and plenty of space for walking. Our dogs were in heaven.
The surrounding mountains provide a fabulous backdrop to the farm. We were basically braaing every evening. There is a superb braai place on the stoep although I think the owner should invest in a good outside table. There are lots of things to do around Tulbagh. Ziplining in Ceres, wine and olive tasting in Tulbagh and Riebeek Kasteel. There are also mountain biking trails and hiking trails around Tulbagh.
Large, spacious house. Beautiful farm that offers a lot of tranquility. Nice patio with a breathtaking view. Lovely fireplace for the cold winter evenings. Lots of space for the kids.
The farm is incredibly beautiful with a panoramic view of the beautiful Winterhoek and Tulbagh mountains. The stoep area is delightfully cozy with a large lawn and tall trees. This area is neatly cleaned daily. The rooms are wonderfully spacious with lots of storage space and large windows to enjoy the view. There is enough sleeping space for 10 people with a spacious farm kitchen where everyone can help prepare food together. The house has a 'traditional, old-fashioned' feel and especially the living room with the fireplace was very nice for us during our cold winter stay. Not mentioned in the description, there is also a large washing machine, a dishwasher and a 'jungle gym' with 2 swings for the children. For us who came from the city to 'switch off' with our friends and our children, the tranquility and simplicity of this accommodation was top notch for us. We will definitely come again next year!
Beautiful location with a large farmhouse. Peter was very friendly and made us feel at home quickly. Self-catering with the basics, everything you need for a comfortable weekend away. The highlight was the nice braai/firepit on the stoep and fireplace in the living room. Tulbagh has so much to offer, we would like to stay longer on Winterhoek next time.

I would recommend the place to other people, good service and it was a nice weekend getaway.
We understand that it is an old farmhouse. however it definitely needs some maintenance. Two toilets both leaking badly, windows cannot shut properly, broken tiles throughout, crockery and cutlery not clean. Fridge and freezers needed defrosting and were also not clean. Quite disappointing in a stunning setting with awesome views.
House was full of dust, cobwebs and leaves. Only four towels were provided for 8 persons. One bed was not opened. Water on floor of kitchen due to leakage.
Uninvited visitors made us feel unsafe.
Beautiful quiet area. Enough play space for children and enough sleeping space for 10 people. The bathrooms need to be upgraded. Perfect place to just get away from the busy city life. We had a very nice stay.
