Was a very short and quick stay. The only concern was the parking. Someone with a large Toyota Prado parked over 2 parking spaces instead of within the lines, so I had no parking for my vehicle. I had to park in the side street and was concerned about my vehicle through the night. Otherwise, happy!
Fantastic stay. Place is clean with finer details to make your stay comfortable. From full DStv to electric blanket and strong WiFi.

It was very convenient to check in late. Everything was very nicely explained in the messages that were sent. However, the guest with whom we had to share parking stopped in such a way that 2 cars could not fit. Maybe it should just be mentioned for future visitors so everyone's cars can sleep behind the gate. We had to leave our car on the pavement overnight.
We had a very nice stay. Reception of keys went well. Place is safe, close to the sea and shops. Lovely shower and all the amenities you need. We slept nice and warm in the cold weather that the whole country experienced. Will definitely stay there again.

We had a fantastic experience. The accommodation was extremely tidy, with new and well-maintained appliances. It was safe, with a lovely outside braai and table, ideal for two people. I highly recommend it. The owner was very friendly and communicated effectively. The location is perfect, close to the beach, shopping center and restaurants, but still far enough away not to be overwhelmed by vacationers.
We had a great time in a very nice venue within a few meters from a swimming beach.
Very nice stay. Just one thing I would like. Dish soap or someone who washed dishes. We had to buy soap ourselves, and we flew in and out. So then we had to buy soap for two dishes? No one cleaned the braai either. Had to do it myself with what cleaning equipment? Also asked if we please could stay longer because our flight was late in the afternoon. No reply received?

It was excellent indeed value for money, in fact more than that. I was impressed even by the area; I really had a nice stay. The safety is everything and communication was well done.
White House has different options for accommodation. We went home in apartment Etienne. You can't really call it an apartment - get the idea it used to be a carriage house. The place is neat and clean but has no ventilation and has a damp musty smell. The shower door only opens 45 degrees and when the tiles are wet, you slide very easily when getting in and out. The parking behind the sliding gate is too small for a larger van/vehicle. The location is well located and walking distance to the beach and waterfront. You do not have a view from the apartment.
The cottage was very clean, tidy and definitely in the perfect location, it is walking distance from the shopping centre.

We really enjoyed the stay, especially in relation to the proximity to the sea to go for a walk, restaurants and shopping centers. It was also ideally located for sightseeing and just relaxing. It is well equipped with everything you need to cook and grill your own food.
The room was neat and attractive, as well as comfortable. Appliances, bedding, etc. were of high quality and our privacy was enhanced by our own braai area.

It was an impulsive decision to travel to Hartenbos and we are very grateful we were able to book the White House. The information of where to park, the keys etc. The places look exactly like in the picture and there is everything you need and nice and close to the beach and shops. We will definitely book the White House again.
Our room is furnished with a fine eye for detail, good taste and refinement. Every comfort possible, plus more, was there. Everything worked, everything shone (of beauty) and there was definitely no expense spared on the quality of the furniture, linen and accessories. Five star indeed! You meet all the requirements: neatness, quietness, and security, that's what I like.
There is no load shedding! Close to shops, beach and out of the hustle and bustle. Host very nice people and very helpful.
We were very impressed with the battery and solar panel system of the White House which allowed all electrical appliances, even the hot water geyser and stove, to be used during load shedding and pretended Eskom didn't exist!
We drove around a lot during the day and mostly visited family. We only slept there in the evenings. Other unit was very comfortable with enough storage space. It is just across the road from the sea, but because the unit is downstairs, there is no sea view from the apartment. It was very nice to walk across the road and down the stairs and then be at the sea. It is also close to the ATKV facilities.

I like to find out in advance if the place is off the grid or can even partially help with wifi and TV so I at least have something to watch. I myself am off the grid with my guest place and that is extremely important to me. White House did not disappoint.

The room's bathroom is a bit cramped, but for 1 night's overnight stay it is comfortable, extremely clean. The room has nice detail and there is a ceiling fan and TV. Small fridge for a cold drink. Just no milk but I would recommend the place to any person. I will also make use of the White House but perhaps in one of the larger rooms. It is also not very private because the office is right next to the room and the private house is on the other side of the room. But cleanliness is 110%.

Good overnight stay.
Not the fault of Withuis, but it would have been nice to have had a sea view. We had two problems: Moisture building up in the room. But I suppose this could be because we were out most of the time, and could not leave the door and windows open. The one day we were "home" we left the door open, and there was a vast improvement in the moisture reduction. Noises from above at night like chairs being moved around and stuff being dropped. For me, the stay was partly impersonal in the sense that you are notified by Whatsapp/email how to gain access and leave and did not get to meet the owners of the establishment.

Parking headache very small, suggest automatic gate instead. lock and key. Raindrops fall very hard from the solar panels on the parking roof. The happenings and bustle of neighbors are disturbing and can be clearly heard.
I complained about the shower head being crooked and no effort was made to fix it. Shower water does not drain.

The Guest Room is a very neat little place. Although there are no kitchen facilities, the microwave and bar fridge are ideal for doing the basics. Lovely place to visit, with a sea view, also on the veranda. The owners are very friendly and we appreciate the fact that they respect their guests' privacy. I highly recommend White House!

The Melissa is a small unit with no view but it's fine if you are out and about all day. A big bonus is that there is solar and battery power so we were unaffected by loadshedding.
Just a recommendation, maybe a shelf or shelves in the bathroom for clothes and a shelf in the bedroom or living room to put something small on, for example. Furthermore, the faucet in the kitchen needs washers.

This is my second time in the White House. I can happily recommend it. Prices are good, as long as it doesn't become too expensive for South Africans, it will always be my no 1 choice of accommodation in Hartenbos.

We had such a nice stay. Everything is nice and clean and very safe. The rooms are comfortably furnished and the children really enjoyed the WiFi. The braai facilities were cleaned every day and we could just relax. We'll see them again soon.

Plumbing very noisy, can hear clearly if somebody flush their toilet next or above us. Same with the shower. No bread board. Major concern, the stove and the wash up basin for dishes is right next to each other (couple of centimetres). Where I come from water and electricity is separate. On Saturday my wife placed a plastic spoon by accident on a hot plate because its so close to the wash up basin. From a safety point of view this is a big no. The braai grid, how do one remove the ashes if the bin is screwed down. I used my own grid for the weekend.
The duvet cover smelled of smoke. On Friday we left the dirty dishes on the outside table as per notice inside the room, I returned in the afternoon to dirty dishes. The dustbins inside were never emptied.
It was my mistake not to tell about our year and six month old baby. But she had no reason to be so rude. I even said I would pay more, but she didn't want to.
Withuis is close to the sea, shopping center and entertainment for children. You feel safe and the apartment is nicely decorated and has everything you need.

The guest room is perfect for people who love to move. The unit is neat and well equipped. The hostess was excellent with directions and information. Already made my reservation for another visit.
Very nice stay. The 2-bed places are small, but very neat and clean. Who wants to stay in their room when they are at the seaside anyway? The access system is very effective, but keep your mobile phone handy in the evening because it is not lit at all and you cannot see the lock in the dark. In the rain on the last night it was also quite a wet entrance, with water falling in streams where you have to close the gate (didn't think to pack an umbrella).

Received very good directions via SMS before arrival and upon departure. Units nicely modern and clean and tastefully furnished with personal attention from house help. Walking distance to all amenities and shopping centers and the swimming beach almost on your doorstep. Had a wonderful stay, albeit short-lived, but definitely highly recommended and will definitely use the White House again.
