Very nice place and well equipped with kitchen appliances. They supplied a few pods for the Nespresso, milk and rusks which was a nice touch. Very private with the screen fence, the hosts never snooped around but were immediately available if called or messaged. Would recommend this spot, perfect for a weekend breakaway. The combustion stove is perfect for those cold Free State nights. Town power was out on Sunday, but the place has an inverter system so we could carry on as normal without the outage bothering us.

The unit is excellently equipped for 2 persons. Clean, tidy as well as modern and tastefully decorated. "Slow combustion oven" was a winner for the cold. We enjoyed it very much! Support the farm-like eateries! It's warm and welcoming.

Wonderfully peaceful, clean, tidy, everything you need is there (self-catering). Good for the soul if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and just be yourself.

Decor is nice and our dogs were safely fenced when we were out. I think it's a cool place for bikers to spend the night. There are spices, coffee, biscuits etc if you can get there with not much.

Stay was wonderful and the host is helpful, especially with making an itinerary of activities in Rosendal. I wouldn't recommend it to friends because the host stays on the same plot, separated by a fence. It feels like they are constantly looking at what you do, taking ownership and freedom away from guests.

Such a beautiful setting. Peaceful farm setting. The best time to visit is Thursdays to Sundays. But during the week, Jolla's eating and drinking place is always open. Delicious meals, friendly people.

We had a nice stay. The house is neat and clean, with the necessary kitchenware to survive. We were regularly sent messages to let us know what was happening in town, so that we were aware of events that we could attend.

Witteberg is very well equipped, neat and clean. Debbie and Grietjie were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely come again.

I was so impressed by this Cottage. Everything has been thought of to make the stay as comfortable as possible and so that load shedding has no impact! There were battery operated lights on each bedside table. There was a gas primus and gas boiler. Water is supplied by a tank. There were extra cushions for the outdoor chairs. Kitchen is excellently equipped. Even braai/firewood with everything needed to start a fire. Quality towels, as well as extra swimming towels! Really top class attention to detail! I was very impressed.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the host and she was wonderful. There was a good shade for the car and for us to sit under in front of the door while relaxing. We received a bottle of fresh water on the counter, an espresso machine, and fresh bread with some jams (this was very delicious). There was a braai outside and a farm swimming pool. The pool was not really in a state to be used as it was a little dirty I did see that there was a pool pump that would circulate the water but I doubt if it would be able to clean the green moss, they might have to add a small sand filter later. The little house is constructed of shipping containers and might I add it was a job well done, it was clean inside and modernized. There was a full kitchen to be used with all the utensils you could need inside the kitchen. The bed was comfy and we slept real nice. The yard was clean and neat, we were allowed to bring our 4 legged friends and they enjoyed the space. There was also a backup battery which allowed us to have lights and even use the 1 plate induction stove to prepare some food while load-shedding was active. I would like to add a tip ( if you will a suggestion box letter). At the braai area: There was little to no light and it would be easy to fit a light on the wooden pole to be able to see the braai area more clearly.

All the local people are very friendly, wherever we landed on Rosendal and Fouriesburg, we got nothing but hospitality!

The cottage is well equipped with everything one would have at home. The surroundings are beautiful and it is a perfect place to break away from the hustle and bustle of motherhood.

Beautiful little "container" house. Everything you will need for a weekend getaway. The Free State is beautiful, just a shame the house has a view of the yard at the back. Would love to see the mountain in the morning.

Good location on the side of the village (with views). Everything of interest within walking distance. It's clean, tidy, private and safe. All kitchen and other equipment as needed and in good condition. Reception and interaction with the hostess (Grietjie) was great.

We had a wonderful rest in the exceptional village of Rosendal and where we went home was peaceful and very tidy. Just be aware that the road in and out of town has seen better days and is not conducive to low profile tires.
