79 guests' feedbackLovely stay in a modernized farmhouse. Had everything we needed. Charming farm in the Karoo. Would recommend it for sure.
Perfect stop on the way to Mossel Bay. Well equipped. Everything one needs. 100% fresh farm milk was a bonus. Very hospitable. Would stay here again anytime.
Great time in a safe environment. The dogs and meerkat coming to say hello and hang out were a bonus. Judy is a hostess a thousand. Will definitely support you guys again.
The 2 days at Wolwefontein Lodge were wonderful. We could only rest. Judy is a hospitable, friendly person. I was simply made to feel welcome with a hug. Would recommend anytime.
Very friendly hostess, Judy. Helpful and makes you feel welcome immediately. Location is conveniently close to N9 and very nice surroundings.
Always have fun on the farm.
See stars.
Our stay was pleasant and met with a friendly kind host. The off putting thing was not having our own bathroom or a shower facility so we chose not to make uses of the communal bathroom. The bed was very hard and creaked with the slightest movement.
The room was nice and big, the beds comfortable and the linen clean and tidy. The bathroom door could not close. The water pressure was very low and during load shedding there was no water, so the toilet could not flush.
Neat, friendly and very comfortable.
We had a wonderful sleep on the farm and Judy is an excellent hostess.
Very hospitable, quiet, clean and good farm atmosphere.
Very nice stay on the farm. Nice for the dog.
A great silent place to rest and enjoy the farm atmosphere. Friendly reception by the owners.
A hostess who goes out of her way to make you feel at home. As a traveler, I would perhaps just like to see clearer or larger notice closer to and at the entrance.
Very nice, thank you very much.
We stayed overnight with hostess Judy for a second time. We were kindly received and everything was in place.
Was calm. Could go for a walk in the field.
Friendly hostess, everything needed for an overnight stay in the self-catering cottage, and a quiet night with giant starry sky! Conveniently located between Gauteng and the Garden Route.
Disappointing that the small braai area faces a brick wall. We like to spend the night on a Karoo farm to experience the richness of the unique nature. How disappointing. The rooms were neat and clean.
We chose Wolwefontein Lodge because it is animal friendly. It was a pleasant experience on the Karoo farm.
The hostess went out of her way to make the stay as memorable as possible with her friendly service. Barbecue packs were available on request, and the breakfast was delicious. Thank you very much for the wonderful time there. Oh yes, the meerkats were an additional, unexpected bonus. Too adorable.
Eight of us spent the night there for two nights, on our way down to Mossel Bay. What a nice and peaceful farm atmosphere!
It's a lovely place to stay the night. It's a working farm so the farm animals and sounds around you are breathtakingly beautiful. The dirt road is very nice and you can drag anything on it. There is plenty of parking, so you can safely park from a caravan to a trailer with your vehicle. The rooms are some of the largest I have ever seen at a guest house. Everything is neat and clean and everything you need is there. Until the shower worked decently and sprayed nice and hard, that's for sure. Everything is just beautiful and nice and Judy went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. It's a working farm so there are sheep, horses and all kinds of feathered species for children to look at. Lovely place to stay overnight that's for sure. It's only 30 km from Colesberg so you're quickly back on the main road. It was a very nice stop.
Good service, clean and tidy.
Breakfast is not included. The "sparkling pool" was not "sparkling".
Very neat and clean. Friendly staff and owner. Very quiet.
The location says Colesberg but this is 30 km outside Colesberg, it would be good to know this before hand as the area is very remote on a farm if you arrive late visibility is not good, and you would need to prepare your own food etc as its not near any shops you would need to drive back to Colesberg which is the nearest town.
See stars.
Very hospitable reception and the environment is very peaceful with a nice view of the mountains. Nice braai place on a nice stoep.
Good location. Nice stopover on the way to Cape Town. Friendly welcome.
Our stay was very comfortable with everything we needed. We immediately found an appeal and will visit again.
Hostess very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. They will definitely see us again. Thank you very much. Our hostess welcomed us with open arms, kindness. Very hospitable. We were family group of 8. Our rooms were already warm with heaters and electric blankets already on. There is a large kitchen area and indoor braai area that was at our disposal. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Can highly recommend and definitely see us again. Thank you very much.
The rooms are cozy and well-serviced, and the shared kitchen/dining area lovely. Enjoying the sunset view from our stoep (some rooms face into a courtyard, but we were in front-facing rooms) and going for a walk on the farm the next morning made the stay unforgettable. The owner made us feel like old friends. We will definitely be back.
Nice farm stay on a farm with horses being bred. Friendly hostess and spacious accommodation.
Perfect for an overnight visit between Pretoria and Cape Town.
Nicely out of Colesberg, this farm with all the farm life is just the place to sleep and visit. The hostess is entertaining and lives her hospitality.
Being a working farm with lots of animals, flies have been a big problem and more needs to be done about it.
DStv was not activated, code E 18, the air conditioner was a mobile unit which was really too noisy to use at night.
The cottage was spacious and well equipped with everything one could need. The farm atmosphere is peaceful and I could walk where I wanted. The horses they breed with are fantastic.
Nice farm environment with horses, sheep, game and a variety of chickens. Pleasant and enjoyable.
Nice stay, friendly, peaceful!
As advertised, sheets a bit dirty.
It's somewhat flattering to call this cottage a self-catering unit, given that there isn't even a kitchen sink, let alone a small kitchen. The braai facilities are very good but were dirty. The cottage was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom adequate. However, the place needs some finishing touches and I will not visit again.
The dirt road was not a problem at all. We were received kindly, rooms were neat and clean. We ordered barbecue packs, were provided with as much wood as we needed and also got the most delicious salads. The hostess had a nice chat and we were able to walk around the farm a bit. We enjoyed a nice breakfast. We will definitely visit here again.
Farm road 100% drivable with car, kitchen and barbecue facilities very good. Rooms neat and clean with good beds.
We were received hospitably and immediately felt at home.
Very quiet, neat and clean. Very kindly received by June. Could grill a nice piece of meat in lovely surroundings. Will definitely stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, would happily recommend to anyone. Do however take bug spray - being a farm, quite a few flies.
The pile of free firewood was especially surprising. A good experience with a very spacious and well equipped room.
Judy is the ideal hostess and all our needs were fully catered for. It's a beautiful place and despite the drought it's a loop court. It's a paradise for photographers and the ideal place to relax after a hot trip.
Had a wonderful walk in the beautiful surroundings. Just looked for reception out of habit, but now know to call the hostess immediately as soon as one arrives.
The hostess is incredibly friendly and helpful. Had a great time living and was very interesting to be able to see all the different animals and how they all fit together. Tingling the meerkat is something to experience.
Lovely place, for all family.
See stars.
Lovely farm place on the way to JBay to rest and visit. Nice fireplace in the room and all the right facilities for barbecuing and relaxing. little gem
Everything was as promised. We had the whole house to ourselves and I wonder how it will be if there are other guests too and the kitchen facilities have to be shared.
Would recommend Wolwefontein. Hospitable and neatly equipped.
Peaceful, friendly, very good overnight experience.
We were received very kindly. We were able to check in earlier and everything was pretty fresh!
Add to that a very friendly host and meeting the animals on the farm.
Wonderful farm experience with a very friendly hostess who served a delicious breakfast.
Great overnight accommodation. Clean and neat, lovely breakfast, was so nice to just enjoy the peace and quiet of the Karoo!
Had a great time. It was in the middle of the drought and everything was quite barren, which was a pity, otherwise the farm would probably have been enchanting.
Friendly reception. Friendly puppies. Conveniently located. Clean and tidy
Neat and convenient accommodation. Will stay there again.
We were warmly welcomed and the accommodation was very tidy, there are braai areas and sheltered parking. We would recommend it for an overnight stay to any destination.
Neat but quiet. Hospitable and pleasant. Breakfast satisfactory.
We would have liked to have stayed overnight in Colesberg but Wolwefontein is a 25 minute drive outside Colesberg. We used Wolwefontein as a half way stop on the way back from holiday. The unit we stayed in was spacious with a nice big double bed. The bedding was clean and tidy. The rest of the cottage was 'okay' with old broken and weathered furniture. The cottage is located on a farm, so there are dogs, chickens, meerkats, horses etc. walking around, so it's great for kids, but expect bugs etc. For what you pay, you get a good night's rest. The receptionist and her daughter were friendly and helped us with any queries we had. Breakfast was also very average.
Hostess is nice, nice breakfast included, but essential things are missing in our bedroom, e.g. trash can in bathroom. Remote and light switch broken. No table to put something down in bathroom. Inconvenient.
Friendly, helpful hostess. Clean and neat. Showering facilities with hot water was perfect after a long trip.
We used Wolwefontein as an overnight stop and it was perfect. The location is good, customer service is great and it's really good value for money!
Very friendly reception by Trudy and it was very nice to experience the farm atmosphere. Will definitely go back and highly recommend this to friends.
Judy and her daughter are very friendly and hospitable. We found Kudu Cottage very comfortable and would happily stay there again. Beautiful linen on the bed. Delicious farm breakfast.
Value for money with genuine Karoo hospitality.
Had a great stay and slept well. However, you share accommodation with other guests who may not be to everyone's taste.
Spacious room with outdated furniture and decor. Breakfast was good variety, fresh farm atmosphere. Friendly host, but no security. Front door couldn't lock.
