Woodcutters Guest House is situated amongst the picturesque mountains and lush forests of Haenertsburg and Magoebaskloof. Woodcutters captures the history, passed and present, of the development of our area over the years, giving you the history of our beautiful mountain and the local community. The guest house is ideally located near all of the amenities in the village and surrounds. We suggest that either a bakkie or a vehicle with a higher road clearance be used, as we are situated on a dirt road.

Excellent in short. We were attending a sports event at the University of Limpopo. We needed space for two in separate beds and wanted to be as relaxed as possible before going to the big event. This venue delivered on all fronts. The surrounds are beautiful and green. It is far enough from the main road that it is quiet and tranquil. The bed and bedding were excellent. They offered WiFi which was strong enough to stream Netflix at night. Our reception was super friendly and very accommodating. We are so happy that we booked there.

My wife and I really enjoyed our time at Woodcutters Guest House. Michelle and Mark, the owners, were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was neat and clean with a nice view. Haenerstburg is a beautiful little town and the Magoebaskloof area in general is really something to see and experience. We can definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed every second of it. Mark and Michelle are awesome hosts who make you feel right at home. The unit was perfectly suited to our needs and service was excellent!

The hospitality of Mark and Michelle was great. What we got was exactly what we were promised. Delicious breakfast (to order) and very quiet and peaceful. Also close to Haenertsburg for restaurant visits and trips in and around Magoebaskloof. Truly a gem. Do be aware of the access road which is not suitable for low sedans.

Beautiful place for a weekend getaway. The way in (from the main road) is a dirt road with stones so I recommend that one should not go with a car that is too low. The room and bathroom are spacious and very nicely laid out. The view from the stoepie is exactly as in the photos and just what we wanted.
There is a separate bar area and the view is spectacular.

The stay was pleasant and very peaceful scenery.
Sadly I stayed just one night. It's in a lovely setting with very friendly hosts. The location on Google Maps should be improved so one gets directed to the house and not just somewhere near the turnoff. If I'd had time to work then a table or desk would have come in handy. Be prepared for power outages in the area, we had another one while I was there.

The place is away from everything. You need some sort of entertainment like your pool, your TV in the room. It must not be dead quiet. Good if you need some peace and relaxation.
There was no electricity available while we stayed there. I realise the whole town's power was out, but it wasn't comfortable to get ready for the wedding and to shower with cold water the next was very unpleasant. We were offered boiled water for coffee when we arrived, as well as the next morning. A flash light was also provided. We appreciate the effort. I do, however, feel that a generator is necessary for times like these. The room doesn't have curtains to cover the whole window for privacy when needed. Luckily our vehicle could handle the road. The road to the lodge is dangerously slippery when it rains.
Our stay was very nice. The owners of the place made sure we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed. Cute little place for a couple to stay, especially when it's foggy in the veins it's very romantic and cosy. Can also watch lick birds and is located near Haenertsburg. Will definitely stay there again!
We arrived at Woodcutters and was greeted by Michelle and Mark and shown to our room, which was very nice with a fantastic view. We went to the local village for some pizza and upon our return we were informed that there was no water or electricity due to circumstances beyond their control. They quickly made a plan and offered to put us up at another guest house just up the road as they knew it would be unpleasant to not have water or electricity for the night especially considering my wife is far along in her pregnancy. Very nice people.
