The stay was beautiful. The most beautiful works of art and furniture. Large windows with lots of sunlight. A romantic fireplace. It was special.

The Woud Blok house was for sure a very nice getaway opportunity. It is a very nice house with a nice living area with all the natural light coming in - in the evening it is bitterly cold with all the glass and only the 1 fire in the kitchen. There was a gas heater as well as other small heaters which helped a lot. Maybe 1 more fireplace on the other side of the house in the living room is an option. There are some small things that I think need attention for the price you pay per night. The wood or charcoal was not sufficient on arrival. We asked if there would be wood or if we had to buy it ourselves, according to the website it says wood is provided. We asked about it and a bucket full of wood was brought to us, definitely not enough for 3 nights stay. We also didn't want to ask for wood every day. So we bought our own wood to keep the house nice and warm. According to the website, it also says that there is a coffee and biscuit table/station for our convenience. The bean grinder was broken and there were almost 3 - 4 pieces of rusk in the container. Luckily we packed our own. The bathroom is bitterly cold, maybe some type of heater could be put in and the water pressure was low. The sink in the kitchen's plug was broken, it kept leaking, and so the water constantly came out when you tried to clean. The washing machine and tumble dryer were so hidden that we didn't even know where they were until the last day. The blankets in the living room and bedroom are already a bit old and may need a good wash.

The house was absolutely beautiful, it is spacious and clean and so full of light with all the windows. We had everything we needed, and it was a short walk into town. In fact, we walked every day we were there; there was no need for a vehicle once you arrived. We felt safe, relaxed, and isolated, which is great. We went to disconnect from work and everything, and that's exactly what we did. It was amazing.

Our stay at Woud Blokhuis far exceeded our expectations. The cabin is so unique, comfortable, and hygienic. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The host was also incredibly helpful and accommodating.

The cabin was the perfect weekend getaway with everything provided to allow for a relaxing stay. The cabin does get very cold during load shedding in winter when the heaters aren't on, so using the gas heater and hot water bottles was essential (the fireplace is more of an indoor braai, so doesn't really warm the cabin). Wished we'd had another night!

Our time at Blokhuis was short, but the house offered a new experience. The layout and space of the open-plan house was very nice, neat, with everything we could need. House offered quiet and privacy which was heavenly for a romantic getaway to get away from the city.

The accommodation is great. Clean, comfortable with all the necessary accessories for easy self-catering. There is also a JoJo tank to alleviate Dullstroom's water problem to some extent. We will be back.

Very, very cozy place to visit! The space and decor and all the books made us feel at home very quickly. The vinyl player was a "nice touch" (we also have one at home) and the music fit in nicely with the atmosphere. We will definitely go back again!

Die Woud Blokhuis is a beautiful place very central in Dullstroom, even if it feels as if you are visiting deep hidden in a pine forest. The unique building style contributes to the experience of the incredibly beautiful environment in which you will find yourself. You literally experience the forest with all your senses! It's exactly what you need if you want to escape the rat race. Just remember that access to the pipe yard may be easier with a taller vehicle, and that the steps are a bit steep at the front door. But definitely worth a visit!

It does get cold at night, so pack an extra layer or two, and if you're bringing your fur-kids - bring an extra blanket to cover the couch if you'd like them to join you on it.
