Lovely, spacious and comfortable.
The room and outdoors are wonderful. The gardens and decoration are lovely. The pools are great. Breakfast is delicious, and the shop with collectibles is very nice.
Amazing oasis and value for money.
We loved this oasis! Beautiful gardens and very nice people!
What a superb guesthouse. Everything was top class. Highly recommended.
Very friendly reception. Clean and tidy. Everything you need for a night's stay. Delicious breakfast on a beautiful porch.
We enjoyed a very pleasant three-night stay at Yellow Aloe. Michael and Cheryl were welcoming hosts, as were all their staff. Being able to have laundry done was a bonus. The rooms were well appointed. A desk was provided for my husband, who had to work whilst staying there. Supper one evening was also provided for a number of guests, but it is not the norm. Sadly, there are very few places to eat an evening meal in Clanwilliam. We were in Clanwilliam to see the flowers and the well-known annual flower show in the church.
Extremely friendly host and hostess. Very neat unit. The most delicious breakfast is served in a beautiful dining room where a cozy stove burns in the winter. Beautiful, interesting garden. Yellow Aloe we will definitely see you again!
Comfortable room, beds and superior linen. Clean and spacious. Spacious shower. Beautiful gardens. Scrumptious breakfast was such a wonderful and unexpected surprise.
Beautiful guest house with great service!
This was my second time at Yellow Aloe in the Long House. The rooms are very well and tastefully furnished. The manager went out of his way to make our stay very pleasant despite the cold, wet weather and load shedding. On the night of load shedding, he made us a fire in the fireplace with enough dry wood to last us through the evening. The garden is a loop court with many hidden surprises and the birdsong is soul-invigorating. The breakfasts were very tasty and carefully served. Last, but certainly not least: They have great coffee. I can definitely recommend the accommodation.
One of our very best accommodations. The quality is top class, great value for money. The staff is professional, kind and friendly. We would book here any time. Lovely memories.
They were very busy, but the breakfast was amazing! Beautiful old house with very comfortable rooms. Pity they were working on the pools, but that is understandable. We did manage to have a swim.
Retired. Travel often. Find value for money.
I stayed in the Longhouse room 3. The room is beautiful, but the bathroom is small and the shower is tiny.
Service with breakfast very slow. Wait hour and 30 min for breakfast.
We felt safe and slept well and the breakfast was very good. The staff very friendly and helpful.
It was just a stopover for my route, a terribly beautiful place with a calm and peaceful atmosphere. Friendly welcome and service. I also got an upgrade for the evening so I got more than I paid for and a nice healthy breakfast served with a smile and hospitality.
The guesthouse is centrally located in Clanwilliam. Can walk to shops and restaurants. Clanwilliam is a good starting point for exploring the Cedar Mountains. The accommodation is comfortable, neat and clean. The gardens are an experience with the most beautiful trees and corners where we could sit and chat and drink a glass of wine. The owners are friendly and hospitable and the service at breakfast is brisk. Would really recommend.
Good service; well-kept room; 5-star breakfast; beautiful and peaceful garden.
Spent one night here. Easy to find and off-road parking. It was a bonus that there were two men washing cars outside the entrance, which we took advantage of. Our car was very muddy after a road trip. A R100 well spent. We had booked two bedrooms and this came with a bathroom in between the two rooms. This was entered by a door off the sitting room which means it was completely private and we could traverse between the two rooms and bathroom in complete privacy. There was a kettle in one of the rooms, some rusks and tea bags. Fresh milk was available in the fridge in the communal kitchen. Outside the very well-equipped kitchen was a sitting room opening to a different section of the garden. There was a wood burning fireplace in the sitting room but it was not lit, which was fine by us. Our rooms were comfortable and good reading lights by the beds. An electric blanket was in both beds. The towels were a bit rough, but not a deal breaker. As with all these places, the pillows were like slabs. My fault for forgetting my own pillow. After a week of sleeping in various places, I have a very stiff neck. The security was good and there are see-through bars on windows and shutters. The garden was a highlight and I could have spent hours in it. Very interesting flowers, creepers, succulents, gorgeous fever trees and so on. Two very adorable kittens (feral, but would allow you to pet them if you were patient). Breakfast was a highlight in the main house. We were greeted by a roaring fire and enjoyed the yoghurt, plentiful very good fruit salad, I think there was museli as well. Tea and coffee were offered and we had a cooked breakfast which was very well cooked accompanied by good brown bread and freshly squeezed orange juice (halleluja). Just a note that they do not serve dinner. We went to Michaels down the road which was 'different' in terms of décor and rather claustrophobic (ask to sit outside on the verandah). The food was perfectly adequate. Service friendly but a little slow. I would like to visit the guesthouse in summer and enjoy the garden and pool.
Good and neat rooms. Friendly reception and good breakfast.
Very, very cute place.
The location of the guest house is extremely central. There are beautiful gardens where the children could indulge themselves to their heart's content. Cleanliness of the rooms and bathroom needs a little attention, but an overall lovely experience.
Small shortcomings already made known to management by means of an internal questionnaire. Received in good spirit and is very dependent on continuing to improve service delivery.
Very generous reception, but very little help e.g. no brochure in room to indicate how TV works or to provide WiFi code (if available) or for assistance. We came back to the room late in the evening after our meal and then trying to find someone to request such trifles is a waste of time. So we went without it.
Very nice stay. Nice and clean.
Yellow Aloe has the most beautiful garden where you can enjoy your breakfast in the morning.
We had a wonderful stay. The owner received us very kindly and went out of her way to serve our breakfast much earlier than normal as we were participating in Rooibos2Muisbos MTB. Accommodation was neat, comfortable and the garden is beautiful. Will be lovely in the summer with the pool.
A beautiful house with a paradise garden in the heart of Clanwilliam. Welcoming and warm! A nice stay.
What a surprise! From the warm welcome right through to our departure, Michel and Cheryl were wonderful hosts. The room was perfect. Breakfast delicious. They go out of their way to make dinner reservations for you at a restaurant. The garden is breathtaking with many nooks and crannies. A real loop court. It's a real treat.
We had a great stay and were warmly received.
Excellent hostess. Parking outside is a problem.
Very nice. Neat and calm.
Our accommodation at Yellow Aloe was very pleasant. Our room, the service, breakfast, tea and sandwiches on the patio was of the highest quality and we had a very enjoyable stay.
Neat, well located, a bit expensive.
See stars.
Very nice to stay, quiet and peaceful.
Anne is a friendly hostess and the breakfast was delicious. However, we felt unsafe. Most of the lights on the long stoep were dead and it was dark when we returned from dinner in town around 21:00. We also feared the safety of our car during the night.
We had an awesome stay. The rooms are spacious and the food delicious.
The Yellow Aloe guesthouse was a big surprise - our garden apartment was very comfortably surrounded by a lovely garden and swimming pool. The dinner in the on-site restaurant can definitely be recommended with excellent food - also for breakfast - the reception was friendly and everyone very helpful. Thank you very much Yellow Aloe, it was lovely to spend the night with you!
I had a lovely stay. I felt very welcome and would definitely stay here again. The garden was definitely a show stopper and an inspiration.
Ideal location to see all the flowers in the district. Food is great and variety is also good.
We had to sleep in the attic and we where not informed about that. My mother-in-law is 76 years and has a real knee problem. She decided that is was okay to sleep there, but it would be more client friendly if you inform in advance. We think the Yellow B&B needs more people to serve during breakfast and diner. Breakfast took us at least 1,5 hour before we received bread, eggs etc. Also, the dinner took very long. The room looked as if it was clean, but underneath the beds it was very dusty and not cleaned. Of all the accommodation we booked during our trip, this was a very nice and cosy place, but also the most expensive place. So value for money could be better. The place was nice and the owners where very friendly to make our stay a good experience, but they have to give some extra attention. I told the owner about this when we left.
A neat, characterful B&B with leaky mattresses, beautiful gardens, friendly people and delicious breakfast!
We were on our way to the Kgalagadi National Park. We were upgraded at no extra charge. Cheryl was very helpful with information about restaurants in the area and about the road we had to drive. Room is very comfortable and bathroom especially very nice.
Room was lovely, the hospitality wonderful and a very yummy breakfast.
Staff is very friendly, room and bathroom very neat and comfortable, breakfast delicious by the fireplace. The traffic around the guest house is quite noisy.
It's a shame that we didn't get a better room right away - it was available - and only when we asked for it.
The advertisement does not clearly state that there are rooms in the attic and one has to climb a ladder to get to your room.
Please see the stars.
This guest house is not worthy of a 4 star rating. Our booked room was changed because there was construction on the main house and we were not informed about it. There was no hot water for the alternative room in the evening nor in the morning. The owner tried to accommodate us and offered us another room. She hadn't checked the room and it was full of dust and dead spiders. We were very disappointed as we don't mind paying for good accommodation but R1100 per night was just too much and not value for money.
Very enjoyable stay, would certainly return.
Friendly service and very comfortable room.
Very good and friendly service. Centrally located and close to all the shops and eateries.
Room was very old-fashioned and really cramped. Breakfast frugal and balanced!
On confirmation, I was told by Yellow Aloe that LekkeSlaap made a mistake, but in fact it was Yellow Aloe who made a double booking! Therefore we were transferred to another guest house with a lower rating. Yellow Aloe then wanted to insist on handling fees for the other guest house. The other guesthouse also complains that Yellow Aloe often does this, sending guests to them and then not paying for it... Not a pleasant experience with Yellow Aloe at all.
We had a great time staying in the guest house and were very satisfied with the service. Thank you!
We lived in the "Garden Cottage". It was nice and quiet! The unit was new and modernly equipped. I will definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable guesthouse. The breakfasts were good and the hostess cheerful and friendly. If I was to criticize anything it would be the wardrobe under the eaves where there was no light and it was difficult to see. We also had to ask for tooth mugs. Otherwise a really enjoyable stay in the area that we wished to travel, to see the flowers.
Stylish and cozy at the same time.
Charming rooms and gardens. And as yellow is my favourite colour, what is not to like about Yellow Aloe Guesthouse! Attention to detail with unique decor.
Pleasantly surprised and very satisfied. The place has a special character. We will definitely stay there again.
Great scenery and wonderful customer service.
