The Milky Way in the evening was breathtaking, as well as all the lights on the paths that lead you to the pool and spot to admire the stars. There was so much attention to detail, from the flowers to the oranges, variety of coffee, the notes behind the bathroom door and lights everywhere. It is a perfect place to spend the night or spend a few days and forget about the hustle and bustle of life. Thank you, we will definitely come again!
We arrived with our bicycles after getting soaked in a thunderstorm. Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and even tumble dried our clothing for us. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was exceptional.
We will definitely stay there again. We were in the Lavender Cottage. Everything and more you needed was there. The hostess puts a lot of effort into the details of the cottages. And a bonus is the restaurant on site!
Yellow House was a fantastic place to stay. The hosts are lovely people who make you feel very welcome. My room was incredibly well-equipped for self-catering, but what I really liked was that if I was feeling lazy, I could eat in the Yellow House's restaurant. And the food was superb.

I definitely recommend the Honey Cottage. Everything was done with such taste. Petro has a fine eye for detail and was an excellent hostess. It was ideal that the restaurant is on site and the food is excellent! Pizzas are a winner and the dinner was exquisite. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Hostess Petro greeted me kindly upon my arrival and made me feel welcome and then gave me the surprise to dream of. I was given the Mustard Cottage to stay in for the night! The decor and attention to welcome-feel detail took my breath away. My artist's heart really danced with delight over this beautiful place to stay. Everything needed for creature comfort was there. Yellow House also operates an on-site restaurant on certain days. The Mustard Cottage is completely secluded which I really appreciated. It has a beautiful garden and nice braai/visiting facilities. Located at the foot of the Black Mountains.
Perfect getaway with two small children. The house was very neat and we didn't sleep cold at all, very nice and warm. The owners of Yellow House were very helpful and can definitely recommend them.

We stayed in the Lavender cottage which exceeded all expectations. We were warmly received by Petro upon our arrival. It was quiet and peaceful and lovely to walk through the orchard. Don't miss the beautiful sunrises. The WiFi was good, there was wood in the braai and a nice porch to hang out on.

Lavender Cottage is situated on a working farm at the end of town and therefore offers the best of 2 worlds. First impression of Yellow House is one of a nice and well maintained place. Ruth was there immediately to welcome us and take us to our cottage. The cottage itself is tastefully and fully equipped and the view from the veranda is breathtaking and the farm sounds and chickens hoeing in the orchards all add to the tranquility. It is in a peaceful environment, the fruit trees and beautiful view of the mountains make you feel as if you are visiting a farm, which a city dweller like me really appreciates! Ons is verwelkom op ons wittebrood met 'n spesiale Karoo-geskenkie en 'n sjerrie met aankoms! Jou verblyf sal ook alles bevat wat jy nodig het - van 'n gemaklike bed, warm kaggel, luukse stort tot gratis WiFi! Die klein plaas waarop dit geleë is, is regtig uitstekend. Ons sal nog baie kom kuier - die plek word hoogs aanbeveel en is elke sent werd!
Spacious, spotlessly clean self-catering accommodation on the outskirts of town. The new owners (from Jan 2021) are warm and ready to serve visitors generously and with good information. Delicious fire already packed with the step in and they really provide the smallest details for a happy stay (e.g. take away bowls for leftover roast meat). Definite stay home for every Prince Albert visit!

It is the perfect location for people who want to explore the area, walk, cycle etc. And yet on the ridge of the town and therefore close to all the amenities you may need. The premises are very neat, and the staff are absolutely fantastic.

Sommerso is very spacious, well equipped, neat and clean with a lovely atmosphere. We were 7 people and stayed here very comfortably. The children could play outside while we barbecued inside and enjoyed the wonderful view. Closed parking (especially with an additional trailer) might be good but we were never worried or felt unsafe. Thank you for a peaceful overnight place and friendly atmosphere.

The unit was basically a bedroom (with a small corner for a kitchen) and bathroom, not at all as suggested by the owner. There was no moving room or entertainment area. I paid for 3 nights in advance, but found alternative accommodation after the first night. The owner refuses to pay the balance back to me.

When you open the door of Sommerso, Sommerso Klein & Sommernet, a welcoming relaxation greets you. A warmth of relaxation and private visit.
We overslept one night and were moved to a unit we had not booked. We were placed in unit for 8 people with 4 rooms, very spacious and big, but not what we initially booked. It would appear from reviews that this often happens. Nevertheless, our stay was pleasant and we were able to have a good barbecue.
We received a very friendly welcome. We stayed in the Sommerso unit, the big farm house. We welcomed the air conditioning and the peace and quite of the farm. In the evening we even took a walk through the orchard. The farm house had everything you need. A home away from home, it is also closely situated to Prince Albert.
Although the accommodation was more than acceptable, the main bedroom was on the main road and there was quite a bit of traffic noise.
I was very disappointed upon arrival at Sommerso, Sommerso Klein & Sommernet. The unit that we booked was given to someone else. There was no other unit available, so we went to Prince Albert and returned 2 hours later, hoping that everything would be sorted out. Another larger unit was offered (for which we were grateful), but the previous guests' personal items had not been removed and we had to wait until everything was removed from the unit. Apart from this incident, we had a nice stay and will stay there again in the future.
Toe ons daar opdaag het hul eers nie geweet van ons (myself, vrou, en 2 jarige) nie, hul moes eers gaan bevestig, toe wys ek uit my naam in hul boek...toe is daar n probleem...dubble booking...ons het daar arriveer in tyd na 4ure se ry, om te stort en te vetrek na troue. Toe moes ons wag dat hul ander verblyf soek, en daar was niks beskikbaar in die dorp nie. Die besluit was toe om die skoonmakers te laat kom terwyl ons weg is na die trou 5pm , om n kamer te kom skoon maak vir ons(vorige persoon het laat vetrek en kamer was nie skoon gemaak) Ons het wel terug gekom en kamer was skoon gemaak. Maar swak beplanning het steeds veroorsaak dat ons die res in n gejaag moes doen.
House is comfortable, clean and fully equipped. Secure, spacious parking. Lovely view of the mountains from the veranda so that one doesn't even feel like exploring the town any further. It's too comfortable on the veranda.

We had a great time in Sommernet. Nice and spacious guest house with all the necessary facilities. Sitting on the stoep for a long time and grilling. It was a wonderful evening. We are just not happy with the shower. The shower's water splashes over the bathroom floor and the bathroom doesn't have a door on it. I suggest putting up a rail with a shower curtain and a small bucket on the floor that stops water. We also suggest installing a bathroom door.

I have stayed here before and was so pleased that I booked the same place again (Sommerso Klein) and was looking forward to showing it to my wife. Great was my disappointment when we arrived and were told that "someone else wanted to stay longer" so we were summarily (without discussing it with us) moved to another room. No what, I don't need such treatment - luckily Prince Albert has plenty of other places I'd rather book next time.

This is definitely a place I will turn down and stay here again. Accommodation is spacious and with an incredible view of the Black Mountains. These are self-catering units with everything you need, or you can eat in town. Can definitely recommend the place.
The tranquility enveloped us, we could relax in the garden and go for a walk in the fruit orchards. Our stay was great, there is nothing missing in Sommerso, Sommerso was fantastic.

Before we stop at our arrival, a very friendly lady is already at our vehicle, greets us kindly and welcomes us, walks out in front of us and unlocks the door for us. Carry the bag of wood that we order yourself. That's tons more than one could ever expect. Sommerso's cleanliness, sense of durable taste and care beats many other places that charge twice the price. Highly recommended. If anyone thinks I'm exaggerating - I have a video recording that can be viewed. The 4 out of 5 for "security" is because there were no burglar bars in front of the windows or doors. In our country, one feels unsafe everywhere, regardless of whether it is indeed safe.

Eileen made sure the reception was warm and took us to our unit immediately. The entire venue is in a very good condition The gardens were well-manicured for example. Each unit has its own little lawn that was freshly mowed when we arrived. We were in the bigger unit, Sommerso, that was very comfortable with TV (DStv) and inside braai. There was also a braai on the stoep. We could watch the Springboks vs the Irish. Luckily the result was satisfying. The venue is on the edge of the town - both far and close enough. I can recommend Sommerso and its offspring with confidence.

The house is very tidy with everything you need against heat and cold. On a beautiful working smallholding. Nice and quiet and really good for the soul. Will definitely go again. Eileen is also very helpful and always around if you need anything.

Comfortable accommodation with everything one needs, especially if you are only staying one night. Although it is on a farm, it is almost in town which makes it very convenient. Warm welcome and very friendly service.
We were pleasantly surprised with the Sommerso Klein unit. It is spacious and very neatly and beautifully furnished. There is enough sleeping space for a family with three children even though the unit is compact. The rural, farm feel is peaceful and it's easy to walk to town from there. Eileen is a beautiful and friendly hostess who immediately made us feel at home. I can really recommend this establishment - it's tasteful, homey and affordable.

Description
This unit is suited to accommodate 2 guests and comes equipped with 2 single beds and a bathroom fitted with a shower. Other in-room facilities include a kitchenette, dining are, portable braai, air-conditioning, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and a TV with DStv. This unit also has with a patio and its own private entrance.
Accommodation is provided in 5 self-catering units that can each sleep 2 to 4 guests per unit. Each of the units is equipped for self-catering and offers en-suite, open-plan bathrooms. All bed linen and towels are provided, there is secure parking, and braai facilities are also available.
It is one of the historical 'dorpsplase' and most of the simple cottages were built around the same time that Thomas Baines was constructing the Swartberg Pass. The decor of the cottages is simple and understated, working in harmony with the peace and quiet and abundant natural light. Spacious showers, big rooms, and private braai places at each cottage.
For the more active guest, it is right on the road to the famous and challenging Swartberg Pass, but also the ideal base from which to cycle or walk to the center of this eccentric town and its quaint shops and eateries.
