The Yellowstone cottage was lovely. It had everything we needed for our cosy weekend away. Collecting keys was super easy. The cottage was clean and ready for us even at short notice. We will definitely be back.
It was a very cute cottage, with everything you need. Ilana met us kindly and showed us where the cottage was located. We enjoyed the nice big bath and fireplace. McGregor has little to do, but luckily Robertson was just around the corner.

The cottage was comfortable and I loved the outside area with its couch and table and chairs. There is a beautiful garden which is so peaceful.
The cottage has lots of character, but also all the facilities needed to have a nice stay. Little special touches like fresh flowers everywhere in the cottage impressed us. Plenty of pillows and throws for snuggling.

We were kindly received and the house was so nicely prepared. The place is really well equipped and we never once felt like we needed anything. We were greeted by the helpful owner, Peter. The room was comfortable, spacious and included all the necessities. We thoroughly enjoyed the privacy and made use of the fantastic outside shower. The green garden with its own oak tree was so relaxing on hot summer days. The cottage provided a unique country getaway away from the main road of McGregor, but close enough to walk everywhere. Will definitely recommend and hope to return soon.
We had a great quick stopover at Yellowstone Cottages in McGregor. Definitely needed to stay longer! The cottage was well-appointed, spacey and warm. Lovely little garden for the dogs and close to a wonderful area to take them for a morning run.
My husband started to feel ill and we decided to go home rather than stay further as it would just be easier to take care of him at home.

We made use of the tea and coffee but did not use the kitchen otherwise. Our host met us and was very friendly. The outdoor shower was an extra bonus! Suggestions - there was no bath soap (luckily we had brought our own) and possibly some complimentary rusks might be a nice touch. We would definitely stay at Yellowstone Cottages again.

Yellowstone Cottages is highly recommended for any traveler looking to explore Mc Gregor and the surrounding area. Communication with the owner of the cottage was excellent, reception and service were warm and personal. Special effort was made with decoration that made one feel special upon arrival. Secure parking. Animal friendly. Well located within walking distance of the main street with its few very good restaurants and places to hang out, as well as walking trails leading out of town.

The stay at Yellowstone Cottages was a wonderful experience. Everything we needed was provided, especially during an exceptionally cold weekend for which we were very grateful. We would really recommend them, it was one of the best getaways we have ever had.
This is a great place to stay and use as a base to explore the lovely McGregor and surrounds. Allie and Peter are gracious and welcoming hosts and the cottage is comfortable and well equipped. I would definitely stay there again.
Our hosts were phenomenal! They ensured that our stay was warm and that we knew of all the activities to do and eateries to visit while in McGregor. The bedrooms were cosy and stocked with a number of wonderful books, electric blankets and handpicked flowers. There was also a pile of wood ready for the fireplace and/or braai. Cannot wait to return for many many cosy winter stays and warm summer holidays.

Had a very pleasant few days at Yellowstone Cottages.
Unfortunately we were only at Yellowstone one night. Would recommend that one go longer. The family cottage is perfectly equipped and the gavrou has literally thought of everything. Although it says family cottage it is very comfortable for two people. There is a lovely fireplace and braai facilities. The full bathroom also ensures a nice bubble bath and the shower is spacious with good water pressure. The host gave a lot of information about different route options back to Stellenbosch. Would recommend Yellowstone for sure.

The place does not live up to the standards that all the other people in previous reviews are going on about. Full of dust and some dead spiders lying around on the floor! To shower you have to step outside and hope the people in the guest house next door are not standing on the balcony watching you while you shower. They can easily consider a stool and grab rail in the shower area for the older people who can no longer maintain good balance. A grab rail by the toilet would also help as the toilet is awfully low and looks like it was built for midgets. More napkins will also come in handy.
McGregor is a very beautiful town. Yellowstone Cottages is well located and has everything you need! You can have a nice walk around the village.

We are very impressed with the accommodation, especially for the price we paid. The friendly host couple lives next door and are very nice people who make sure you have everything you need. We had a great barbecue, the bath is enormous, the porch the perfect place to sit and visit, and it is close to all the amenities in town. Even though your car is parked in the street, we didn't feel unsafe for a moment. A beautiful place to stay in a beautiful village.

We came to McGregor with a group of friends celebrating a 10 year wedding anniversary, Yellowstone cottages was convenient, peaceful and relaxing. The hosts were easy going, we had a lot of late nights, but was never an issue, there was no rush to check out, it was just pleasant to be there and would recommend to any young folks looking for some time away that Yellowstone is a perfect option!

Accommodation was lovely and clean. Hosts were attentive but also allowed us our privacy. Kitchens were well equipped.
The hosts offered us the family apartment because the fireplace in the 2 person suite was not working. We paid the lower price which made it excellent value. The family apartment is comfortable and well appointed, if a little cramped. We would have felt very constrained in the suite, but we stayed for 6 nights and did a fair amount of cooking. The outdoor area is lovely - trees, birds and a quiet village street. Our only negative experience was being accosted by a beggar appearing at the open door. The hosts asked for feedback and we told them we would have felt safer if there were security gates on the doors, ideally fitted so that one can leave them open in warm weather. We got the impression that they took our comment seriously.
