The camp sites and self-catering units cater for all budgets and travelling styles. There is a communal ablution block fitted with showers, toilets, a bath and washbasins.
The tea garden restaurant, pizzeria, and bar serves great food, coffee, and wood-fired pizza. All 3 are open on a daily basis. There is also a gift shop with DStv and Wi-Fi. Every Saturday is market day. Stock up on farm fresh veggies, organic eggs, home baked goods and locally-made crafts.
Kids can enjoy the playground with its tree house, trampoline, and slides. The river has a small natural swimming hole with high rocks from which to jump and there also forest trails to explore. Gxarha (Morgan’s Bay) dam is ideal for bass fishing, swimming, and canoeing.

38 guests' feedbackWe loved our stay. The cob cottage and the surrounding forest is beautiful!
Had a great time again.
Short stay but very nice.
We had a very nice stay. Very friendly service. Place was clean and tidy. We were a big overnight group and we had a great time.
The ambulatory blocks are clean and always tidy. Enough hot water for everyone and the campsite is also clean and tidy. We had a great time camping.
If you like down to earth rustic accommodation, this is the place to go. Very friendly and helpful people.
Lovely place, however uncomfortably hot in the mud hut as there are no fans for circulation and a high amount of mosquitoes. The entire property could do with a good clean and maintenance, seems very run down. Market on Saturday was very nice.
The accommodation was not at all what I expected. The standard was low. We booked the cabin. The unit was dirty with a musty smell in the small room where the double bed was. The bunk beds were not firm and without steps to climb up. The fridge was old and rusty. The electricity had a problem which left the resort without power for periods of time (not load shedding). It rained a lot causing the resort to be a mass of mud. Extra paths must be built so that it is not necessary to walk in the mud to the ablution facilities. The ablution facilities are not up to a standard I expected. There are ropes strung which are very low and cause one to bump into them. The 2 plate gas stove is the only thing I can give positive feedback on. We only slept over the first night and then left.
Needs slight renovation ie. pitches are a bit cramped with little parking and power points per pitch are illogical, forcing people to use long extension cords. With a lot of rain there is mud everywhere. The atmosphere is calm and pleasant, and the camp is otherwise ok. The restaurant and market are cozy. Friendly owners.
The location in the camp is very well located, and the change from normal living was fantastic. Will use it again anytime.
Most beautiful scenery you will ever see! Real, genuine forest with accommodation that doesn't spoil the magical atmosphere. The Bushcamp cottage won my heart! Rustic, but clean and lovely. Right next to a water stream, cute and private braai place. Hiking trails, delicious pizza and cold beer on site! Owners very friendly and helpful. If you are not obsessed with white linen, take a look and discover another life!
Had a great time.
We stayed in the Bushcamp. Very cute but could do with a dust. That said, the price was very good so it was still great value for money. The restaurant/bar was very accommodating considering we were the only customers. Definitely recommend the cocktails!
There is no kettle or cups in the room. The café only opened at 09:00 and coffee cost R22. It was nice but not good old instant which is what I would have liked. Funny enough there was also no coffee in the town.
The room was a bit scruffy, linen was faded and there was no mosquito net, even though the room is not fully enclosed. There was one open bulb to light the room, and two rickety chairs, along with a table tucked behind the bed, out of reach. Bathrooms were clean, and the pizzas at the cafe below were great. Friendly service, and while the room was disappointing, the place overall was good.
First time in Morgan's Bay and Yellowwood was the perfect place to stay. Basics with character. All the staff and owners were very accommodating. Happy to go there again anytime.
I have camped at Yellowwood a few times and it is very nice every time. They put effort into the campsite.
We got help with pitching the tents. Everything was clean and neat. Just no warm water at the large shower on the last morning. Moved to the smaller shower.
Even though one got the feel of the forest, one could still hear the sea in the background.
We had a great time camping at Yellowwood over Christmas. Nice playground, nice pizza. In the bush. Enough space.
We enjoyed our stay at Cob cottage and the surrounding atmosphere was great. There were some issues with cleanliness, but the staff sorted it out quickly. Cob cottage has a whimsical feel, the colourful windows are cool but take note, with some windows not having curtains, it calls for an early rise and a fishbowl kind of feeling at night. Not much privacy especially with camp sites nearby. Even though the bush camp is advertised as being very rustic a few more touches would go a long way to make it feel more comfortable. Overall, Cob cottage is something unique and an experience to stay in, but the many windows can be a little tricky, come prepared and enjoy your stay there.
The bush camp is exactly that: a camp in the bush.
Meet minimum requirement. You get what you pay for, but the accommodation does need attention.
No problem with being rustic - but all was old, worn out and stained.
The kids loved the trampoline, feeding the animals and the bushbuck trail. We loved the whole atmosphere! The cob house is beautiful!
Quiet and peaceful campsites with all necessities. Not far from the beach at all.
Everything as advertised. Very friendly owner and workers. Will pay a visit there again.
What a feast! Hospitable and different. A green hippie retreat! We thoroughly enjoyed it!
The place is in the middle of nature. One relaxes nicely. The nearby restaurant in the premises is a plus. The stalls on a Saturday were a pleasant surprise.
The resort is suitable for campers and very tidy. Grass was beautifully green and the ablution block very neat. We stayed in the rustic cabin and I was very disappointed. I feel we paid way too much for the condition of the place. But we were warmly received and the children can play and be free,
We stayed in the Cob Cottage for two nights. The building is truly artistic and it is clear that a lot of creativity and care went into its construction. Unfortunately, the condition of the furniture and facilities took away from the 'charm' of the cottage. The furniture was not comfortable and was old and neglected. The fridge could not close properly, with the result that we occasionally had to remove bugs from it. We also could not use the upper floor at all as the grass of the grass roof is in bad condition and the furniture and bedding were not welcoming. The floor and furniture on this floor were also heavily soiled by cockroaches and lizards. What was a plus point of the stay was the nice stoep and fire pit, as well as the beautiful walking route in the forest. The staff at the restaurant were also lovely. Unfortunately we did not see or meet the managers / owners. Morgan Bay was wonderful, but we were disappointed in the condition of our accommodation which is described as 'luxurious' on the website. It was not value for the rates charged.
Booking office was not up to date. The rustic idea for the ablution blocks was interesting, but not very clean. Too many campers for the amount of ablution facilities.
Will definitely visit again. Awesome service and site.
Very friendly service with a tranquility that dominates. The accommodation between the trees and streams of water definitely contributes to the experience. Very safe and did not feel scared of being away from my tent for a whole day.
Morgans Bay is a very nice place to holiday. We struggled with hospitality. We couldn't choose where we wanted to camp and I wouldn't recommend the restaurant. You are not getting your value for money. People also complain about the few bathrooms.
