"Amazing."

Wonderful stay at Yochanan.

"Jewel in Marloth."

It was by far the calmest most enjoyable "unwind" time in Marloth that I have ever experienced. Host communicated before we arrived, sent us web cam video clips of our visitors during our stay, and checked in after our break to see if there were any suggestions from our side where/what he could change or add. Yochanan is one incredible gem tucked away in the woods to experience privately enough, but there was a visit from various species of animals every day. We have been so blessed. The "cherry" on the cake was that we were treated to an extra "mahala" day. So our long weekend was extra special with an extra day. Thanks again.

"Value for money."

We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. The house is well taken care of and has a homely atmosphere to it. For the price, our expectations were exceeded. The owner checked up on us before, during, and after the stay, which was very welcoming.

It was absolutely amazing. The house is incredibly beautiful and cozy, and we had so many visits from all types of animals the entire day. Absolutely worth it.

Beautiful little house with all the comforts of home. Fully air-conditioned and everything worked. Utensils were extensive and we experienced no consequences of load shedding.

"Relaxing."

We had a nice stay and relaxed. It was breathtaking with the animals that came to visit. The place was neat and beautiful. The stairs are not for the elderly or people with knee problems, they are high and far apart to climb. I would just suggest that someone check that everything is in order for clients in sign. We got there late at check-in time. There was no toilet paper in place and all the shops were closed at that time. No dish soap to rinse well. Nor a toaster. There were still some things that were not available. Coffee and sugar pot were just left where someone had last used them and left just like that. We had already broken away from people and didn't feel like complaining about it. First night there was no hot water either. We are lucky people who take most things together and can make a plan if necessary. But yes, it's worth it.

Overall we were happy with the cottage. However, I feel the following should be mentioned: Stairs to the 2nd level are very steep and older people or people with injuries are not necessarily going to be able to go up and down all the time. What is not practical is the fact that the bathroom/toilet is on the 2nd level and once again people with injuries (sore knees, ankles, back, hips, etc.) will definitely struggle. Something that is temporary, but did have a big impact on my mood, is the fact that there were builders set up right next to the braai area with a zinc house and yo-yo and 2 of the builders spent the night. In all honesty, my immediate feeling I got was that I wasn't going to be safe, so had to get Field Security out to come check. One escapes from the busy city and its noise and to some extent unsafe conditions, only to find exactly the cells in the forest when you come to take a break. I would advise that a 'warning' be set up to point out to the guests that there is currently building construction going on with builders sleeping over. When the above is sorted out and the neighbours' house is finished I would recommend anyone to stay here if they were able to climb the stairs. Very grateful to the owner who dropped in from time to time via WA to assure us that our safety is important and that we should let you know if there are any issues.
