Zebula 317 (Kukama's Rest) is a lovely bush lodge located in Kareefontein, close to Bela-Bela, consisting of a 5-bedroom house as well as an apartment, making it ideal for a group or family.
In the main house, 4 of the rooms are furnished with queen-size beds, while the fifth has a queen-size bed and a double sleeper couch. Each of the rooms also has an en-suite bathroom with a bath or a shower, while the main bedroom has a bath and a shower. The rooms are air-conditioned and some open onto a patio which offers a lovely bushveld view.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and contains 2 fridge-freezers, a Falcon gas stove and electric oven, a microwave, a percolator as well as the necessary cutlery, crockery, pots and pans. A dishwasher and a washing machine are also available. Meals can be enjoyed indoors or in the outside dining area. The lodge also has a swimming pool and at night guests can relax and watch the stars from the boma. The lodge is serviced daily for guests convenience.
Zebula 317 is wheelchair accessible, and guests will be able to enter through the front door, move around the ground floor lounge, and have access to the stoep and outside dining area. Ramps and pathways provide access to the boma and to the apartment, and they are approximately 80 cm wide. Please note the washing basin and the toilet in the apartment is wheelchair accessible, but it does not have the necessary railings to support guests. The basins in the house are not wheelchair accessible.
The lodge is also frequented by 2 nyala as well as warthogs, and a bush baby can also be spotted in the early evenings. It was awfully nice. 3 families with teenage children. Our second time there and every time a feast.
From arrival everything was clean, house smells good. Everything you could possibly need is there. Wild animals roam freely and are very tame. Great place to visit with friends and family.
Ons was 4 gesinne met tieners! Wat 'n ongelooflike wegbreek. Skoon, netjies, groot genoeg, oorgenoeg slaapplek, Boma vir laataandkuiers, swembad vir afkoel. Ons het gaan stap en fietsgery, net gerus en dit was heerlik! Klaar besluit, hierdie plek gaan ten minste twee keer per jaar 'n instelling word! Als was so maklik, die bespreking, die betaling, die aanwysings! Dankie Connie, ons sal gou weer terug wees!

Beautiful quiet environment. Central living area has large windows and doors that open to let in countryside. Kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Beds a little on the small side if you are over six feet tall. Overall a fantastic place for large groups. Management team great. Will book again for next year.
Zebula 317 is a beautiful house with all the facilities to enjoy a wonderful weekend getaway in the forest. It's ideal for children who could ride the dirt paths with their bikes and enjoyed climbing over the rocks. The boma is a wonderful place to visit. We were surprised with the Njalas who are so tame and even came to hang out on the porch. We hope we are lucky enough to be able to return to this unforgettable place one day.

The place looks even better than the photos. The living areas are large and perfect for a large group of people (we were 14 adults). The rooms were very neat, each with its own bathroom with a private patio. The housekeeper was very friendly and went out of her way to help us and was welcomed with bottles of wine. We enjoyed it so much, we are already planning to go back in the winter and have already referred to 3 people. The only note I would like to make is that the GPS (Google Maps) includes one on a gravel road and some of the smaller cars drove a little more uncomfortable (although the owner emails the correct directions). Thanks for a nice weekend.
The house is beautiful and very private. I would only recommend more DStv channels as the package is very limited. The pool could also be cleaned more frequently whilst one is staying there. Would definitely go there again and recommend it to anyone else.

Everyone loved the house, it is extremely tastefully decorated and has lots of nooks and crannies for everyone to relax in and catch up on a good book or have a lazy afternoon snooze. Absolutely stunning venue for a family and friends get together.
