Plenty of space for a large group. Attention to detail and very well equipped. The swimming pool is a lovely bonus as well as the variety of places where you can barbecue. The knee blankets are wonderfully soft and a great addition for a cool evening. Would definitely recommend the place.

The house has recently been redone. Bedding and mattresses are good quality. Sofas nice and comfortable. Lots of cupboards and storage space. Terribly safe area as well as an alarm system and garage in which we could park our larger van. There is solar power which means the plugs and lights don't go off, the fridge and stove are not on the solar power, so you can't use the stove to cook during loadshedding, but at least there are surprisingly nice restuarants nearby. Take warm clothes! Yzerfontein is cold in the middle of summer. The house is extremely good value for money, there is a sea view from the upper balcony where there is also a braai. We were very impressed and it exceeded our expectations.
I could possibly have read the original add again, but as I could understand you get the whole house with the cottage. I would suggest listing the two separately as it says Zeehujis and cottage. This was the main selling point for me. In my head I had that we will have the house too, not just the cottage. I'm not saying it was an unpleasant stay, but if I had known that we would only get the cottage, I would have chosen another place to stay. I also understand that we were only two people, but because I knew it was going to rain I wanted the indoor barbecue area. Again, I don't know if I just misread it, I know on the invoice it just says cottage, but on the original add it says Zeehuijs and cottage. One suggestion for the cottage is sofas, the seating provided in front of the TV is terribly uncomfortable. I sat more at the table in the kitchen than on the seaters. I just want to make it very clear that I am not unhappy with anything about the place, but was more unsure and expected the whole house to ourselves despite the fact that there were only 2 of us, because also on the add it said we can contact if we want to add another person who will then be charged extra, we would have liked to have done it, but then we couldn't due to the fact that we didn't have access to the house.

Our holiday home by the sea was everything we dreamed of and more, very spacious, lovely sized bedrooms, great pool, walking distance from the sea. Our hosts went above and beyond to assist where necessary.
It's fantastic, pool is a bonus, upper braai area ideal for excellent views, wind was a bit cold at night but other than that everything was 100%, would definitely go again, bedding and all good quality.
We were 4 adults, a toddler and a 2 month old baby and there was more than enough space for all of us to hang out, barbecue, sleep and relax. The house is very well equipped with everything you need. We will definitely come back again!

Wonderful place, lots of space and enough rooms for a big family or group of people. Als was clean and tidy, pretty good view of the sea from the top floor, the pool is definitely a bonus! Couldn't fault much, would just prefer more comfortable furniture in the TV area. Otherwise everything was perfect, will definitely book here again in the future.
Had a really good time and the place was spacious and comfortable. There is no wifi, which can be a disaster and/or blessing with teenagers.

What a lovely surprise Zeehuijs was! Well equipped and comfortable. The beds and bedding are of high quality. Then there is also an outdoor and indoor barbecue to choose from. The place is nicely furnished and lacks nothing. The only thing that didn't work for us was the narrow garage for our big car! Everything else was perfect! Earn the 5 stars!
It is a beautiful, open, spacious, neat, clean, fully equipped house with very interesting decor. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, pantry, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave oven and fridge. Large table with chairs. Variety of board games and DVDs at your disposal. Comfortable sofas for relaxing. Another table with chairs and a TV corner. Built-in braai. Bedroom with double bed and adjoining bathroom with shower and lovely oval bath and toilet. Bedroom with two single beds. Another kitchen with a table and chairs and sofa leading into master bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. All the rooms have large built-in wardrobes. Great quality linen. Upstairs is a playroom opening onto a braai area which has a sea view, with two rooms with single beds each with a shared bathroom with shower. Swimming pool. Delicious bottle of wine waiting on arrival. No air conditioning, although not a problem at all with breeze blowing all the time when windows are open. No wi-fi. Excellent, prompt good service from Gail, she definitely contributes to the success of the house.
The pool especially was a hit for the kids.
Shower in master bedroom min maximum hot water. Highly uncomfortable seat by TV. Rooms cold, 1 effective heater. Mirrors far from power plug. Bedside lamps cannot be plugged in due to the bed's headboard position. No Wi-Fi.

We were welcomed with a notice at the door and a bottle of wine. The house is spacious and ideal for more than one family - everyone can have privacy. My granddaughter sometimes got lost in the house with its many rooms. The house is well equipped. There is a variety of games such as Monopoly as well as DVDs for children and adults. It is within walking distance of the harbor and restaurants/shops. Elise, Martin and security provided great service. If I have to complain - the one room is very light because it has a long window with light curtains. Woke up very early.

The house is spacious and clean. I would just suggest that there is box freezer and the master bedroom shower pressure is very weak so that needs to be looked at.

We were 8 women with an average age of 48. The pics portray a relatively upmarket establishment, which we found to be far from upmarket! Out of 3 showers 1 worked. Headboards in the room with 2 single beds disgusting! An additional fridge or freezer should be placed, especially for larger groups. We found the fridge totally inadequate. WiFi would have been welcome too. There a numerous points that we could go on with, however, I trust that what we have mentioned is noted is acted upon. A lack of attention and detail is portrayed throughout the house. Weeds and a totally unkempt perimeter. Wooden windows unable to open. Absolutely no continued maintenance on the house at all. If one had children, there is no place for them to play - back "garden" is covered in abalone shells. There are so many elements that this could be a wonderful getaway destination, but we will certainly not be back to Zeehuijs, nor will we recommend Zeehuijs as it currently stands! What we can give credit on, is that the linen was clean and crisp as were the towels, and our request on Saturday evening for additional toilet paper and dish tabs, was speedily delivered. Zeehuijs is a very tired establishment and in our view, not worth what we paid.
It was lovely, but I found the place did need maintenance, leaking taps, mold in showers, toilet not working properly, etc and it definitely needed something in the back yard which is the main area downstairs, a small pool, or a pit braai perhaps? The back area was just walls with sand and shells. Needed a bit of appeal and a fixing up. Would be nice to have some more bare essentials, perhaps black bags, handy andy, etc.
What a beautiful place! The facilities were clean and neat. The house was well heated considering it was a mid-winter vacation. Elise was a brilliant host. We will definitely be coming again.

Big house, close to everything you would need. There is a sea view on the balcony, which the pictures don't show, it was a pleasant surprise. Owners are very friendly and helpful with any request. Various visiting areas upstairs and downstairs. Would recommend for any group of 8.
Ek kan vir seker Zeehuijs aanbeveel, wil egter net die volgende uitlig. Op julle website se foto's is daar 'n boksvrieskas sowel as 'n ysmasjien. Dit was nie daar en omdat ons 'n groot groep grootmense was en van oraloor het ons al ons vleis en ander produkte saamgebring, so ook ons drinkgoed. As gevolg van die feit dat daar nie 'n boksvrieskas was nie het ons pakprobleme gehad vir ons vleis, ens. Ek beveel aan julle update met nuwe foto's. Sal ook aanbeveel dat julle wel 'n boksvrieskas vir plek kry wat baie handig sal wees.

Really an incredibly beautiful place! View over sea was beautiful. House is nice and comfortable and there was everything we needed. House nice and spacious for larger families. It's a nice walking distance from shops and the beach.
Well-equipped house, everything one needed was there. Unfortunately, the hot water for showers was not sufficient. It was only very late in the morning that the sun would shine.
Nice relaxed, comfortable stay with all the necessary requirements for a nice getaway. Even with the cold weather it was nice to visit the house. Anyone will feel at home here.
We really enjoyed the house, perfect location, and the house was very neat and clean.
Our host was so helpful and absolutely lovely. The house is very big so great for many people, especially if you wanted to have a good kuier with friends. The only issue we had was that there were only two toilet rolls for five of us for two days. And there was no soap. We had to go to the shops as we arrived which was quite an inconvenience since we had just been to the shop. I did ask if we needed to bring anything and was told no. And when enquired about the situation we were told that people bring their own toiletries for hygiene reasons, which is totally understandable, I just wish we had been told in advance. The hand soap provided was finished in all the bathrooms so empty bottles just sat next to the sinks. Other than that, we had a lovely time. The location is not the best, but it is in walking distance to a beach restaurant where we had a lovely meal.
It was a great breakaway house, very spacious and enjoyed it a lot there. We enjoyed our stay and hope one-day we can afford to go back again.
The house is very well equipped and is also neat and clean. The hot water (geysers) has been sorted out and all the bathrooms are in working order. Elise is incredibly friendly and we felt very welcome. We received very good service from the time we got there until the day we went home. I would really recommend the place, we were only three guests, but the house still felt cozy.
Everything was really very good, only some problems at the house such as door leaking, bathroom upstairs shower and toilet not working. However, I reported everything to Elise de Beer. She said she would sort everything out.
Very good paint stay, value for money! Kitchen is also very well equipped with quality cutlery! We only had a problem with hot water in one bathroom but were able to use the other bathroom. Everything was neat and clean. Would recommend the place anytime, also for larger families. Enough sleeping space.

Zeehuijs is an absolutely stunning venue with an added bonus, it's close to Cape Town. The house is decorated beautifully and it has lots of space for communal get together's, but well laid out for time out if you feel the need. It was neat and clean and was more than home away from home. The owner has made this gem comfortable and has thought of all the little extra's (to many to mention) which made our stay better (if that's possible!). We absolutely loved loved loved our stay there and will definitely be back again! Thank you so much Elise for being so accommodating, making us feel welcome and for a magical stay. In our book you are the hostess with the mostess. 10/10.
Friendly environment and safe.
From the first moment of contact with Elise, I just knew we would have a wonderful stay. She's so bubbly, friendly and energetic, a wonderful host. We arrived and found a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us. The home is absolutely beautiful. Clean fresh white linen on all the beds, nice fluffy towels and everything you would need in a home. We literally just needed our food, drinks, clothing and toiletries. A home away from home. Beautiful sea views too. I would definitely recommend Zeehuijs.

We really enjoyed our stay at Zeehuijs. It's a well-equipped house with nice areas for hanging out and safe enough for small children. It's a shame about the main bathroom that didn't have hot water, but they seem to be working on a solution.
