57 guests' feedbackThe stay was amazing! A simple unit with everything we needed. And it was only 2 hours out of Joburg, which made it perfect for a quick weekend out of the city.
It was a wonderful weekend. The rooms are extremely clean and tidy, everything one needs. was extremely helpful and very hospitable!

The direction board missing (which they knew) and as a result, we got lost and wasted 2 hours on a very poor road. The whole facility while still functional is showing signs of neglect, indicative of financial stress. The owner and guests partook in small arms target shooting which spoilt the quiet ambiance. The game was very sparse and skittish.
Our stay was great, definitely would come back.
First place: I was under the impression that there will be aircons in the chalets (as advertised). There wasn't. Petrus is a fantastic manager and I praise him highly. He brought us a fan for the room. Second place: We were told about the waterfall, we as a family really love nature and hiking trails etc. We were very disappointed to hear that the waterfall was no longer working. It was a big big disappointment. There really wasn't much to do then.
Had to check in at 2pm but driver didn't show up until 4:30pm and had to wait outside on the road, which is very dangerous! No services. Sheets torn and no towels. No generator. Because they arrived late, we were promised a free game drive. No diesel to keep the promise! Swimming pool was under repair and not available. In general, the place is very neglected. Photos quite misleading.
We stayed at the bush camp. What an experience! Beautiful boma area, and comfortable chalets.
We as a family just had to get away from the city with its dirty air, noise and load shedding. And we don't regret for a moment that we chose to go to Zinyala. We were received very kindly from the beginning and could breathe for once. The chalet had everything we needed and more. The kids had the best weekend ever. We roasted marshmallows in the boma, enjoyed the sunset tremendously, appreciated the birdsong, and much more. The stars were beautiful on Saturday night and my little girl was enchanted with her very first shooting star - she would like to move there permanently and live there. Many thanks also to Petrus - you are a very good manager and host. We hope to visit again soon and will recommend your place anytime.
Overseas family could finally come visit and we chose Zinyala to make memories, everything you could wish for on a rainy weekend getaway, staff especially Petros where amazing and genuinely looked out for our every need before we even knew we had it! You do arrive as a guest and leave as family will be back for sure, thanks again Riana.

We really enjoyed our stay at Zinyala. The accommodation was comfortable, although more storage space in the kitchen would be welcome. The stoepie with its overhang is a lovely place to hang out, as well as the hangout area at the Clubhouse. The Bosveld ospreys entertained us all weekend and we had the privilege of being able to sit and watch an owl from very close. It rained a lot this weekend, but we didn't feel cooped up. It was rest for our souls to spend time there. Petrus and his family are a great asset and make you feel welcome immediately.
Not much to say, only slept 1 night out of the 3. Due to water pump problems there was no water on the farm, but Riana arranged other accommodation. So we would like to go back again because it is a very beautiful and peaceful place.
We were the only people there so it was super quiet and just what we needed. Sorry there is no MTN network reception.

We had great time. I would like to thank the manager, Petros. He was so friendly and welcoming. We arrived a little bit late, but he waited for us and he always answered his phone. The rooms are clean, but if they can only put the towels in the bathroom.
Petrus, the manager, was very good and friendly. We had good chats with him. It was very quiet and peaceful with no one disturbing us. The only small problem was no towels in the bathroom.
Petrus is excellent and made us feel very welcome. We had a great time jogging and mountain biking and will surely spend a weekend there again. The absolute silence and wildlife on the farm was incredibly relaxing.
I feel they could have put a little more effort into the cottages' kitchen. Petrus is very friendly and helpful. Although one has no idea who the owners are. Petrus definitely also needs help, otherwise a few balls will fall. We struggled all weekend to book a game drive. He couldn't get back to us about it. When we were finally able to make an arrangement, we stood at 7 o'clock Sunday morning waiting and no game drive. The owners can put a lot more effort into hiring specific people for specific things. There is a lack of a front of house that can welcome people and make bookings. There is no security at the gate, Peter's daughters are sitting there. There is no bar man, Petrus's daughter stands behind the bar and herself does not know how all these things work. The place is really lovely but Petrus and his family can't do anything.

Will definitely go again. Was very nice and peaceful. Nature is beautiful.
It was an amazing day of no cell phone signal and just a peaceful day in the woods. There is a variety of animals to see on the farm and you won't have any trouble looking for them. We went to watch the rugby in the clubhouse where we were received by the friendly Petrus who was ready to serve us. The cottages are spotlessly clean and each with its own nice veranda. Will definitely visit again when we feel like we just need some time away from the hectic life.
Lovely hideaway nest, especially the honeymoon cottages. Good privacy and relaxation. Best weekend getaway by far!
Petrus is amazing and is a really excellent host! He gets 11/10 from us. Had a great time and slept very warm! Costs for the forest camp are a bit high if you compare it to other places.

Petrus knows the meaning of hospitality and he checked us in after 19:00. He also helped my husband to change a flat tire, now that is what I call service! The chalet is well-equipped and the decor is beautiful. We have a 4x4, but the road was quite bumpy, but I suppose this is part of the getaway experience. Please indicate the length of the gravel road in you directions.
I recommend it to anyone who wants to rest. The tranquility of nature is breathtaking. The staff and reception are very professional and they make you feel right at home. Petrus is definitely an asset to Zinyala. It is neat and it was just nice and very peaceful. Definitely recommend it!
We really enjoyed it. The only with that bothered us was the gas braai. You want to make a fire in the bush. Thank you, Petrus - your service is very good. Will definitely be back.
What you see is what you get. Needs chairs for the boma braai and a chair for the dressing table. That's it, otherwise nice and the wildlife came close to the chalet.
The ideal place to go and rest, away from the rush of the city. Little to no cell signal, peaceful, tranquil and very beautiful. Stunning accommodation, very comfortable. Had everything I needed. Petrus, the manager, was excellent, what a gem. I will definitely go again and already recommended it to my friends.

Petrus was fantastic! Hot Springs was a nice adventure, although there was quite a bit of algae around the edges. Beautifully clean rooms and bath was amazing! Dirt road a bit bumpy, but manageable. Recommended for 3 day stay.
Pleasantly surprised. Facility was good with everything we needed. Petrus was incredible with his welcoming and throughout our stay. He can definitely be recommended as the manager of the resort. Enjoyed the game drive. The area is beautiful and peaceful. We will definitely make use of it again. We only have one complaint and that is that other holidaymakers made a noise until late at night. Nothing was done about it and we couldn't complain about it to anyone else. It distrubed our peace and would be appreciated if in future they request people not to make noise of any sort at all. Places like this are searched for by people who want to get away from the city noise and parties shouldn't be tolerated. From now on the road map shouldn't be changed to include the distances with all the turn offs as well instead of just straight lines, it is confusing.
Not 100% what was expected. Beautiful accommodation and neat facilities. Rockpool at cottage did not have water in it and the restaurant was not in full use. Hopefully it will develop to full glory again in the future. Game viewing, walking and overall forest experience excellent. Thank you Petrus, manager, for tentativeness and the great work you do.
Would have preferred the chalets to face the field/bush where the animals were.
Chalet is very comfortable, staff are helpful. There is not much to do so if you want to rest in peace then this is ideal.
We really enjoyed Zinyala Private Game Reserve. The location is very nice (for those who don't mind dirt roads). We were kindly received by Petrus. He is very pleasant made us feel very welcome. The rooms are neat and clean. The clubhouse is also nice. Go and try them. Nice place.
Please indicate how long the gravel road is. No cell phone reception. The power was a problem at arrival. A railing could be put up at the swimming pool so that you can hold on when getting in or out. I arranged with the owner about Sunday morning's breakfast before we left, but no preparations were made.
Beautiful, neat and clean place. Petrus speaks the most beautiful Afrikaans and has good knowledge of wildlife. We will remember Rina's friendly smile for a long time.
The caretaker was very friendly and went out of his way to ensure we would enjoy our time at Zinyala. My only negative thing was the condition of the ground on the way to Zinyala. I can recommend Zinyala for a quiet time away from the busy city life. We saw many wild animals. Zinyala has a variety of comfortable accommodation to suit everyone's tastes.
Very nice stay in the forest camp, very peaceful and the visiting area is wonderful!
What did bother me is that although it is self catering there were no dish towels, cloths or dish soap.
