38 guests' feedbackWe had a great time.
All that is needed for a nice break.
The house is neatly and comfortably furnished and the hostess Vanessa is very pleasant and helpful. We spent the days hanging out on the deck and can recommend it to anyone who wants a private and quiet visit with a nice view. Definitely worth it.
The stay was very nice, we enjoyed every second!
We had a great time in the forest. House is very neat.
Many improvements on previous visit two years ago. The braai and swimming pool on the deck were an absolute plus. Very neat and tasteful. Thank you very much, we really enjoyed it and will definitely come back again.
I received all my information early. We found the place easily and the alarm worked well. We saw quite a few animals from the deck early in the morning and it's beautiful to be so high up. The place has everything you need but I suggest they put another bowl for the oven in the drawer. We wanted to bake 2 dishes and could only do one at a time. I am a regular visitor to Marloth Park and love the reserve, so I was disappointed to see all the building materials and even old barbecue ash under and around the house. It rained a lot the days before our visit so I wasn't too surprised to see the branches and seeds on the deck. But the used tissue on the kitchen cupboard was not pleasant. The top of the fridge was terribly dusty. And the windowsills and corners were dirty and had dead bugs in them. Perhaps the cleaning service should be addressed. The shower door was off its track and I had to put it back before we could shower. We couldn't turn on the pool and it was a bit green with a lot of dust so we didn't swim. It was a big disappointment for me, because I had just rented the place for the swimming pool.
Thank you very much. It is nice to sit in the tree. Clean and tidy. Will visit again.
As it was raining we couldn't use the deck area and this is really the highlight of the stay. The owner may just have to look at the geyser's water. Hot then ice cold.
The owner really makes everything easy for you because she sits out everything for you. The only thing that was not okay with the swimming pool that just needs to be fixed and filled up with water but everything else was great.
It was peaceful, beautiful, and should stay longer next time.
A very nice and clean place. We really enjoyed the visit except for: What was advertised as a well appointed kitchen was not. Very poorly equipped kitchen with basic equipment (salad bowl, tea kettle, tea towels etc) not there. Hot water system kept turning off in the middle of a shower - very unpleasant. We simply did not shower then. No cleaning service. Unfortunately, this soured the visit a bit. Nevertheless, the visit was very pleasant and we will book again.
Value for money good location. Only problem we had is no warm water. The gas geyser was not working even after switching the gas bottle and aircon in living area did not cool.
It was a nice place. They went out of their way to allow us to check in earlier. The place is very cozy on the deck and night owls came to visit us every night. The bad things were the deck is that only two of the four chairs were whole. The bathroom is unlivable, terribly hot and unpleasant smells. The air conditioning is totally ineffective. It is definitely not a place where you want to stay in the summer. The place needs some improvements, the windows need to be looked at, may fall out so better not to open them.
We really enjoyed it, but only encountered 1 problem and that was with the shower, the gas shower didn't work properly at all, the water gets hot and cold without opening any faucets, it was not nice to shower like that at all not, but otherwise it was very nice. Regards.
Compared to other accommodation in Marloth Park at the same price, Majuli Tree Lodge is extremely poor. Can replace bedding!
We had a great stay in the Majujuli Tree Lodge and had a wonderful time on the lovely deck. Everything was neat and clean.
What a great weekend with my family. The "Tree house" was neat and the pool was clean. The hostess drove ahead of us to the house, where she handed over the key. She also accompanied us through the house upon our arrival. She was very friendly and helpful, including she gave us a map about Marlothpark! Saturday was our 28th Wedding Anniversary. In the fridge was a bottle of Champagne and 2 ice-cold glasses.
We have had an amazing star gazing opportunity with the perfect weather to do so. Majuli is a perfect stop-over on route to Mozambique, but it is worth staying for more than just 1 night. Marloth Park is beautiful and worth the time to explore.
I stayed here with 3 friends during a weekend trip to the Kruger Park. We didn't want to leave! The home is comfortable and well equipped and everything was very clean. The viewing deck was amazing! We spent hours out there looking out over the tree tops and we were greeted by 2 giraffes when we arrived. We felt very safe. And Kruger was only a 15 minute drive away. Will definitely recommend this to friends and family.
Enjoyed the weekend immensely, especially the zebras, warthogs, impalas and kudus who came to visit. Located near the river, so went for long walks every afternoon and saw lots of wildlife that came to drink water. A few serving bowls would be handy in the kitchen. It takes quite a while to understand the stove and oven. May need some maintenance. For the rest, the stay was very pleasant.
I made a booking for my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. Maritza, the manager, helped out with the arrangements from the start. I also arranged a romantic dinner by Heilga of Manzini who came and prepared for them at the tree house. Maritza went out of her way to make everything comfortable for my parents. They enjoyed every moment. There are many animals and they confirmed that they'll go back there again. Good customer service being so rare these days, it was an unexpected surprise to be helped like that. Much appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I also hope to be booking there soon!
Nice stay in the forest surrounded by the sounds of animals and birds all around you.
Just would like to make a recommendation: We would like a bigger fridge/freezer. Would also like to have shelves in the bedrooms for our clothes, not have to live out of a suitcase.
We enjoyed it very much. It is very clean and tidy. The view is also beautiful. A big plus is that there is an air conditioner. All we recommend is that there should be more comfortable furniture on the patio.
We enjoyed it very much. The animals come to visit your yard for you. Sitting in the pool on a hot afternoon is wonderful. We will go again.
The children enjoyed it immensely. We went for a walk along the river and the animals that came to greet us for breakfast under the house were wonderful. Majuli Tree Lodge is an interesting cottage. Everything you want in a small space. However, there are some things that could be improved. First of all, the house is not terribly stable. The slightest movement and it feels like the whole house is rocking. Attention can be given to making it more stable. The second thing that bothered us a bit was that there is no storage space in the rooms. We had to live out of our suitcases the whole week we were there. A small hanging cabinet with shelves in each room will go a long way to make it more practical and comfortable. Apart from the two problems, our stay there was really great. We will definitely consider coming again.
I realize they are busy with changes, but then they shouldn't let the place out like that. There are no wardrobes in the bedrooms, the shower leaks a lot, the chairs on the balcony are very uncomfortable. These are just some of the bigger problems. Derrick let it be known that he would pay attention to it. As it is now, the place is not suitable for guests who want to stay there for more than 1 night, that's what I think. It's a shame, because they repainted the whole place and varnished the floor. It still stank, but with the windows open it was over quickly. It's a beautiful place when they pull up their socks! Then people will want to stay there for several days.
The place and the people were excellent. The help of LekkeSlaap made everything go well.
All the elements to make the forest holiday an enchanting life experience were present. Unfortunately, two negative matters must be mentioned: 1. The particularly poor condition of the dirt roads, please. needs urgent attention., 2. It is the lack of game drives for all the residents of Marloth Park. Thank you, we will use such an opportunity again.
The tree house is very well furnished. The view is incredibly beautiful and we had visits from some species of animals and birds. Our only negative comments would be that the air conditioning needs attention and the fridge was also a bit small for a week's stay. But apart from that our stay was lovely and we would definitely recommend it.
We had a very nice stay with a good forest experience. Everything needed is there with the open deck which makes the stay worthwhile.
It was really peaceful and quiet here.
The lodge has a problem with hot water. On Friday night we had to ask for the gas heater to be turned on. On Saturday we were there without hot water and we couldn't get hold of the manager. The gas heater's flame was off. Sunday morning they came to turn on the heater again. The "flint" seems to be broken and it is very difficult to light the heater with matches. The manager did apologize. The couch in the living room area has two broken spars that make sitting on the couch very uncomfortable. The master bedroom's white ceiling is taped to a joint with a strip of black "duct tape". It is unsightly and weak. When you pay for a service you at least expect things to be somewhat better off, don't you?
Had a great time! Clean and tidy. The animals are very tame and eat out of your hand!
This has been already sent to the owners.
Had a great time! Outstanding surroundings, loved it! :)
Majuli tree lodge is definitely worth the money, very good view over the valley. Rats or perhaps bats were a bit of a problem in the roof but they are only confined to the bathroom area so you don't here them at night. Otherwise I enjoyed my stay there and would go back again given the chance!
