23 guests' feedbackThis place is pure bliss in the heart of nature. Andre is such a great host and so accommodating. Our girls' trip was amazing, and we will definitely go back! He exceeded our expectations with his hospitality!
We had an amazing stay in the cottage. We loved the farm and it was so convenient to Stanford and Hermanus. The cottage is charming and full of character. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space for everyone. Beds are very comfortable with nice linen and plenty of cosy blankets. We loved using the hot tub and outdoor braai, but the large kitchen with dishwasher was well used also. Will definitely be back.
Loved our stay! The accommodation was exactly as advertised.
Marlene made us feel very welcome and made an effort so that we could watch the rugby. This house creates a warm feeling that makes you relax comfortably. Will definitely have to visit again in the summer months so we can explore the area better. Thank you Marlene, you really have your guests' interests at heart!
Had a special weekend with family. 9 of us in total. The hot tub is well-used. The owner was available 24/7.
Beautiful cottage in a tranquil setting with an amazing entertainment area. Well equipped and very clean.
Beautiful, comfortable home for a larger family or group of friends. House is beautifully furnished with everything one could need. Cozy bedding and enough extra blankets and towels. The hostess really paid attention to small details such as salt, pepper, extra hanging space for towels and hand washing soap to make her guests feel welcome. There was nothing missing and beautiful flowers in the portal. The porch with comfortable sofas and chairs, large hearth and stove together with hot tub is the best part of the house! We had a great time with our friends and the teenagers also enjoyed cycling and lying and reading on the sofas. The gas stove, solar power and wifi were also great. There is also a lot to do in the area. We would love to come again. (An extra, separate toilet would help a lot for a larger group of guests.)
We as a group of friends took a little break this weekend to recharge our batteries, and it was the best time! The hot tub was a big winner for relaxation and then the tranquility with the wind blowing through the trees that takes you to a blissful place! The nice accommodation with everything you need is beautiful.
We had a lovely stay at the Zuurknolsvlei Selfsorg Akkommodasie. The place is situated a few kilometers from town, which gives it that tranquility and security. The furnishing and decor was a beautiful surprise as was the outdoor jacuzzi. There is ample outdoor space for busy children and nature lovers. I strongly recommend this accommodation.
Our 11 friends had a wonderful weekend at Zuurknolsvlei! The porch and 'hottub' were a hit for a weekend getaway, fully equipped kitchen, good bedding and the house is close to Stanford with a decent dirt road. The hostess was in contact with us the whole time and made so much effort to make sure we enjoyed ourselves! Nice experience!

The only downfall of the place was that we arrived on a very cloudy weekend and the place is fully solar powered. Due to this we were unable to use items that we planned to such as the airfryer, hair irons, etc. We were also a bit disappointed that the stove was disconnected as we were planning to use this. Other than the above we enjoyed our stay and the fact that it was cloudy was unfortunately out of the owner's control.
We had a lovely, relaxing stay. The host was very accommodating and friendly. Would most definitely recommend the place to anyone looking for a weekend away from the busy city.
Absolutely fantastic accommodation, clean and spacious with high ceilings. The polished cement finishes were modern and embraced the earthy surroundings, avoiding any moulding tiles and grout. Little things were thought of like some rusks, tea, coffee and a 5L water, perfect if you are arriving in the early evening or packed in a rush, forgetting a few items. Your door opens up to big trees, birds chirping and scenic mountain views at the back. Morning walks on the farm were a great way to wake up and soak up some winter sun. Easy 15-20 minute drive on a dirt road to town and close proximity to Gansbaai, Hermanus and Stanford. Really great value for money and cannot wait to go back again! The perfect accommodation if you are looking for some rest but also want to adventure the scenic landscapes and towns.
We were 4 couples and there was plenty of space and rooms for everyone to live comfortably. The facilities are very well equipped for self-catering and there is even coffee, tea, milk and more provided. Marlene communicated with us ahead of time and we were kindly received and shown around. Very nice patio with nice view and quiet area. The dirt road on the way home might be a bit challenging, but still suitable for any vehicle. Thank you very much!
This farmhouse, with accompanying chalets, is perfect for a large family group. We had everything that we needed and were extremely comfortable in this lovely setting. The farm is close to Stanford as well as other very interesting day trips. I would definitely recommend Zuurknolvlei to anyone looking for comfortable and attractive accommodation with family and/or friends.
Very nice neat, clean and everything you need. We only did a quick in and out but was everything we wanted.
We were looking for a farm experience and got it. Lovely patio for reading and barbecuing and board games. Nice walk on the dirt paths around the plot. Bathroom facilities are enough for 5-6 people, but for more people it may create a problem. Hostess was accommodating. Place is a long drive, but it was the plan to get away from the city. The visiting turtles were a bonus.
Zuurknolsvlei is located in a beautiful environment. The farmhouse is cute and well furnished. An extra bathroom would be a plus. The best feature is the large patio where we had a great time barbecuing and chatting. The view from the porch is beautiful. We had a nice walk on the farm. The environment is peaceful and one can just relax. We also enjoyed visiting Stanford, it's nice and close, as well as places like Birkenhead and Springfontein.
Marlene is an accommodating, helpful and very friendly host. Perfect for large groups. Very clean with all the amenities one would require including a large deep freeze in the main house and a newly installed dishwasher which was great! Fortunately, the weather was a little cold, so we didn’t miss having a pool. There is a dam, but in summer I think a pool would be a must. There is a large patch of lawn in front of the farmhouse where the kids enjoyed playing soccer.

Water pressure is not quite sorted out. Some basic equipment to self-cater absent or insufficient. Surrounds (within close walking/wandering distance) overrun with heaps of scrap and rusting old caravans/cars/washing machines/sanitary ware. Wonderful birdlife and quiet.
