26 guests' feedbackPlace was spotless except for ants in the kitchen but it wasn't a big issue. Should consider using a gas stove instead of an oven for load shedding purposes. Outside, there was a splash pool instead of a jacuzzi.
I would definitely go again. Everything was lovely. WiFi would have been nice.
We as adults had a nice weekend relaxing, waking up to the sounds of birds chirping which is priceless. The kids had an amazing time swimming, playing in the park and games on the lush green grass. The facilities at 117 were also perfect, great living area, enough space for the kids to run around and for us to eat at the table as a family is what we really enjoyed. We will definitely be returning.
It is the most delightful place and so much to do. We will book number 117 again soon for a getaway.
Really great spot for young kids with the playpark right on your doorstep.
Was very nice. We had a great time with family but just felt the house needs a good clean. I cleaned up and wiped down cupboards because there were spider webs.
Very nice, peaceful environment.
The place was cozy, with stunning views and all the comforts I needed to relax and unwind. I spent my days exploring the area and swimming. Enjoyment for all.
Accommodation was acceptable.
The house was adequate, although for 4 adults , 1 couple and 2 single people , the bathroom and toilet set up is not great with a toilet in the one bedroom upstairs behind a curtain. There were no instructions for the TV (which had very limited channels) or the fireplace in the lounge which is an ex gas fireplace and cannot be used as a fireplace. The resort is very cramped with houses, cheek by jowl and caravans in gardens and it was fortunate for us that it was not busy.
The accommodation is very basic and did not meet our expectations. The cutlery and some of the kitchen utensils are not up to standard.
Spent quality time with our daughter and 1-year grandson.
Was nice, but we explore because it was raining that weekend.
A beautiful resort in the beautiful Wemmershoek area. Accommodation range from old rustic to basic chalets or houses. Although it is a resort you can avoid the crowds by simply spending time at the house you booked or a private spot at the river. Parking is a bit limited. They do however make provisions for parking if you are booked in. We basically avoided the public pool areas. It looked like families were enjoying the day visiting areas. The house we stayed in is old and needs a bit of tlc like a hand towel rail and minor essentials. I will however book this place again as the owner and the resort's staff was very professional. Excellent service provided. No excessive noise. Reception for phones is a challenge. To be expected though as it's in a valley.
Nice stay! Cute little place, just a horrible smell in the bathroom all weekend and the upstairs bathroom was something else. Cell phone reception is not very good and a braai box roll would help a lot, but otherwise a very nice time. Everything was neat and clean and just a nice living house. The front porch was so relaxing and the back braai area was fantastic.
We liked cottages in the area and the way they were built and their style. The facilities for children and the safety in the area were good. The neighbors' hospitality and the staff's customer service were good.
We as a family had a lovey stay, being with young kids the small deck pool was a bonus for the days we didn't wanted to spend on the resort. The place was perfectly situated in front of a park for the kids to play as well. Place had the necessary basics to use.
Health and Safety should be added in brackets.
We had a great stay and the facilities does not really accommodate the basic needs. There are not much kitchen utensils which as knives, ect. Even though it was advised to being extra bedding people dont really like traveling with more than an over night bad anymore. There was no iron and board. There is not much accommodation made for load shedding either. The jacuzzi can be fixed. I just think some things needs fixing to make the house a much better stay for guests. Other than that we had a great time and managed to get by with what we had.
Our family would definitely like to return to this establishment. The peace and quiet was exactly what we needed to recharge. The staff are very friendly and helpful. However, we were promised a jacuzzi, which didn't work.
Will definitely go again.
I am very unhappy how the reception was at the gate when my wife and the other guests arrived there, they were received at the gate with such a funny attitude by a lady who worked there. It was like they didn't belong there.
Everything is old and retarded. Hot tub suddenly became a splash pool, broken. Two rooms lights were faulty, tiles are off the walls and cracked on the floor, boiler didn't work, 2nd bathroom is a toilet behind curtain upstairs. It was really one of my most disappointing experiences - great outdoor seating area if we could get the grill for braai. The couple who came to unlock were very helpful and brought a grill, but miles too big to fit in the round grill. They also didn't turn on the lights or the geyser ahead of time, waited until we arrived at 19h30 in the dark with no hot water for the first 3 hours. I have been in the travel trade for 30 years and see so much potential with the house, but it needs a good upgrade. Kitchen itself has no braai bowls, tongs, salt and pepper jars or sugar jars or sharp knives. The two main chairs on the table are so limp - too scared to sit on them. Friends of ours rented the house diagonally behind us, with full WiFi and stunning upgraded place with working jacuzzi for R2000 a night also 4 people. It was scary to compare the two places - 20 meters apart and so different. There is definitely no parking for 2 vehicles either. No WiFi either.
We were falsely accused of loud music and when trying to explain what happened, it was not taken into consideration. We left the next day to book into another accommodation but they refused paying our day's money back when they made us feel unwelcome. I'm truly disappointed by the service rendered at De Hollandsche Molen. I won't recommend anyone going there!
