The magical garden and outdoor spaces are a key highlight of this property, designed by a talented local garden designer to be entirely indigenous and mostly local fynbos growing in this specific area. It boasts a beautiful natural rock eco pool, outdoor sitting and eating areas and an outdoor fire pit, with endless views of the mountains and sea from various angles, and abundant birdlife and local wildlife.
Each self-catering cabin can accommodate between 2 and 6 people and consist of separate bedrooms or open-plan living, private bathrooms, open-plan living areas, and kitchen areas with basic appliances to cook meals.
In addition, each cabin has its own deck and braai areas overlooking the gardens, with stunning views. The Fynbos Pod has an outdoor wood-fired concrete bath and the Sentinel has its own natural eco pool.
Every cabin comes with a fireplace for all-day heating and the first basket of wood is complimentary, electric blankets or electric hot water bottles to keep you cozy in the chilly Cape winters.
The property offers a high-speed fibre internet connection, a shared laundry area in the basement and a secure parking bay for each cabin. The property is secure and boasts external cameras, a linked alarm system and electric fencing all around, as well as a UPS to minimise the impact of load shedding and power failures.
Please note the owners are usually in the residence on the property with their menagerie of dogs, a cat and a chicken.
There is direct access to the Sandy Bay Dunes Nature Reserve via a back gate on the property, where guests can walk about 200 m up the hill, onto the sand dunes and down to Sandy Bay and across to Llundudno along the hiking paths, as well as onto the Shipwreck Trail. The top of the dunes is popular with groups and families for picnics.
The property is the ideal base from which to explore the area’s attractions. The cabins are 3 km from Hout Bay beach and the harbour, shops, and restaurants, 4.5 km from Chapman’s Peak drive, and 20 km from Cape Town CBD. Distance to the airport is approximately 30 km and takes around 30 minutes in low traffic.

Located in the most beautiful setting. The owner was a pleasure to deal with. Definitely my new favourite place to stay at. Will highly recommend it to anyone.
Loved everything about the place.
Accommodation was clean and tidy with a beautiful view. The room is very cozy and there is enough to keep you warm if the weather doesn't cooperate. We would have liked to make use of the delicious picnic bag at one's disposal, but the weather was not nice. There is also a beautiful walking trail on the back porch.
Lovely accommodation close to Houtbay. It was perfect for a stay outside the city but still close enough to places we wanted to visit. It was quiet and the scenery made it a perfect oasis for rest. Thank you for hosting us.
Great location, away from the buzz but close enough should you feel like a night out. Definitely would recommend a group to book the whole place if available (10 people). Lots of fun to be had! Equally perfect for a couples getaway or some much-needed me-time!
We had a fantastic weekend. The location is perfect.
The view is incredibly beautiful, the place itself is clean and tidy and comfortable. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay, will definitely book again, thank you very much.
Thank you so much for an amazing stay. The house is very well equipped with everything you need. The view is breathtaking and is very centrally located in a very safe area. We will definitely visit again.
The accommodation was clean and tidy. It was comfortable and perfect for me and my girlfriend. Note that when the wind blows the pod is very noisy. Mentioned to Pearl that the chimney pipe should be properly secured and any branches touching the pod should be cut back. The patio door must also be properly secured. All the suggestions should be easy to carry out to keep it nice and quiet if the Cape doctor blows.
See stars.

The eco pool is a natural rock pool with no fencing and no cover. The Fynbos Pod is up a short hill with uneven rock steps and the deck has unprotected sides with drop-offs of around 1 m on some sides. The is also a sharp drop-off out of the sliding windows, which has a balustrade. The Reservoir Pod’s deck is open to nature and has a drop of just over 1m into some very uncomfortable bushes and branches. The cabins are not suitable for children under 10 or anyone under the influence of alcohol or any other substances. The space is expected to be left in a relatively neat and tidy state. It is not necessary to clean dishes on the last day but be aware and considerate as we often have guests checking in later the same day.
