This is a beautifully 5-star place with a 5-star view! We only stayed for one night but were received with a warm welcome. The place was clean, had beautiful views of the mountain, and the aircon was a bonus. Thank you. We will definitely spread the word, and we will be back!
From the start of our stay, we felt a warm welcome. Melanie made us feel at home from the get-go. Up until we came home, she checked up to make sure we arrived safely in Cape Town. If you need alone time or even with your partner, this place will be the best choice. Restaurants are all nearby. I always drove past Swellendam but never stayed over. How I wish I had found this beautiful town long ago. The place itself is far more beautiful than the pictures on the web. The unit is modern.
Fantastic place in a very quiet and safe part of Swellendam. Walking distance to cute restaurants. Melani is friendly - the service was great. Rosy received us and immediately made us feel at home. Will want to stay here every time you go to Swellendam! The scenery is breathtaking.

Well received by the hostess/owner. The room's layout is good and meets all requirements with TV, WiFi, etc. Very nice garden and scenery. The Silence was delicious. Hostess provided us with all related information.
Location is great. Kitchen well-equipped but only 1 chair in the room. No table for sharing breakfast on. No waste bin in the room. No bath mats on the bathroom floor (very cold).
We stayed a total of 5 wonderful nights. It was nice waking up every morning to the sound of the river right next to the house! Everything was very modern and clean, we had no issues with anything. The lady in reception was very friendly and recommended a lot of nice places for us to visit. The guesthouse is very close to all of the good restaurants and shops in the area which was quite convenient! I would definitely book again!
King-size bed, crisp white linen. New, spacious shower. 3 Boxes I always look for, all ticked! Not to mention access to nature from the property. Cute town with hidden gems. Well worth a longer stay in summer.

The very well-equipped and comfortable accommodation, the beautiful surroundings and the comfortable and friendly hostess helped create pleasant and lasting memories. We will definitely stop by Riverbed Guesthouse again and again and again.
The place is located in the perfect piece of area, with a river and walking trail on the side. We were very impressed with our room and the amenities that came with it, however we regret not checking in earlier and checking out later. We will book A River Bed Guesthouse again anytime in the future.

The accommodation and setting in Swellendam was even better than it looked on the pictures. Close to restaurants and museums, but peaceful. Melani (and Luka the Great Dane) were perfect hosts. Looking for an excuse to stay there again.
Our stay at A Riverbed Guesthouse was a wonderful highlight! Classy, contemporary, exquisite, clean. These new, modern suites are private and cosy, and well-equipped with quality furniture and appliances. The hostess, Melani, complements this wonderful setting with her professional, efficient and friendly manner. Her special touch is evident in the design and layout of the suites and the carefully handpicked accessories. The perfect breakaway for couples who enjoy seclusion and a spectacular mountain view, whilst being within walking distance to the centre of town.
The guest house is very modern with all the necessary accessories. The breakfast that can be enjoyed in your room is top notch. Melani is a very good hostess and had to be up early in the morning to greet a bunch of cyclists who took part in a race.
