Everything 2 people need for a weekend getaway. Accommodation is clean and tidy, the shower is spacious with good water pressure and the fireplace was a lovely treat for our cold evenings! We didn't expect slippers, gowns decent coffee, fresh drinking water, yogurt and muesli — thank you very much Ralph and team for making us feel like we were staying @The Spa. The accommodation is walking distance from all the nice shops and restaurants and I would definitely recommend to couples and even singles who need a value for money weekend getaway.
Our stay at The Spa was such a treat. The only issue was that it wasn't a long enough stay!

We had a great stay, comfortable and clean. The coffee, milk, sugar as well as yogurt and muesli were not expected, so very nice. The small stalls in the living area need please. curtains or blinds, because early sunlight bothers directly on the bed due to trees that are still small. Will definitely stay there again in the future.
Neat and clean. Everything you need, apart from mushy bowls and curtains by the windows that everyone complains about. There is a large sofa extra that is not in the photos, which was great.

The lady at reception was unaware of our booking. The toilet does not flush well. The place where the car is parked does not have good lighting in the evening. Loose carpet on the floor is a recommendation. Or other floor covering. The room and bathroom were cold.
Will definitely use the accommodation again. Staff and owners are friendly and happy to help.

All you need for a weekend in Clarens for 2. Close to the square, a big beautiful bed and a great shower!
1. Outside of unit not clean. 2. Pictures on website are old photographs. 3. Oversized un-ironed curtains hanging at patio doors. 4. Towel lying inside at patio door (to soak up water when raining). 5. They do not show the 3 small windows that do not have curtains in front of them, one of them is right opposite the bed and it actually wakes you up. 6. The bed on the website states king - instead you get a double bed that is very uncomfortable. 7. When it rains there is a leak on the roof dripping on the ceiling, which has a small hole for the water to drip through. There are no gutters at the small entrance gate and with rain coming down you get wet trying to hook the gate in. 8. The attitude of the owner is the cherry on the cake. After complaining, he became rude and aggressive over the telephone.

Relaxing and peaceful.
Accommodation was perfect for our stay while competing in the Maluti D90 cycle event. Cereal, yoghurt, milk, coffee and rusks were unexpected and appreciated! Unit has microwave, toaster and kettle which was all we needed as you within walking distance to the village centre and all the restaurants. No TV or WiFi but we didn't miss this at all. Fluffy gowns and slippers were a lovely treat. Will definitely return when next in Clarens.
The accommodation was worth a stay.
The owner makes it his business to find out if you are okay and even leaves food in the fridge. For the amount we paid its worth every penny. The owner really makes it his business to make sure you find the place and if you need anything, he will help.
We really enjoyed the tranquility. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the fireplace inside the unit. Didn't get cold at all, you made sure we were well taken care of. The coffee, biscuits and yoghurt were also a nice surprise. Will use your place to stay again!

Very cute place - neat, clean, warm and comfortable. Would prefer the car to be parked behind a fence in the evening just for extra peace of mind.
The room was private and well-kept with lovely personal touches including clean night gowns and slippers, rusks and yoghurts and more!. The cherry on top would be if the rooms were serviced.
The unit was amazing, the owner was very welcoming and friendly and his personal touches in the unit didn’t go unnoticed. The room was clean and well equipped. Everything one needs is there and it was right behind the spa. Very convenient.

I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a tidy, comfortable place to stay within walking distance of the Clarens "Square". Everything was clean and neatly painted over, the queen size bed was comfortable with electric blankets and a fireplace for the cold and there were yogurt, muesli and coffee facilities for breakfast. Ralph went to great lengths to make sure we had a nice stay and we had good privacy. You can leave your car at the parking lot and walk everywhere you want to be, it is safe and conveniently close. This was our second visit and will definitely be back!

Apartment is perfectly located near the restaurants and shops, walking distance. It is very quiet and private, we were pleasantly surprised. The fireplace and beautiful view round off the stay perfectly. The spa is excellent with friendly employees, and is also advised to put on your list during your time in Clarens.
There was no one who came to make the bed or even brought black bags to throw out rubbish. No one came to change towels.

This is a real friendly guest house which has great service and a good atmosphere. The rooms are really clean, well maintained and up to scratch. We had a wonderful time. The host was very helpful and knowledgeable of the current events in town. It's only a minute's walk from all the attractions in Clarens. The bed is huge! Best thing about this room? A full wall window/sliding door you can wake up to the most beautiful sunrise over Mount Horeb every morning. Thanks Ralph!

We would just suggest that free WiFi should be included and that they hang us some paintings just to make it more homely. I also think that the owner should have been available when we arrived. We had to wait for an hour before he arrived. I also think that he should be a little more hands on and find out if all is okay and whether we are enjoying our stay. Communication is very important, so we suggest that he leaves a note on the window to advise us where to take the key when we leave. Other than that, it was nice and clean. Also the rusks, yoghurt and coffee were a nice touch and of course the gowns and slippers were a clever idea. Another factor that needs to be taken into account is that when we arrived we looked into the window of the spa beds and it looked disgusting. The beds weren't made (even though they were closed - the place should be neat as that site put me off going into the spa). It unfortunately does affect the Accommodation@TheSpa.
There was "mold" in the shower, there was people's hair on the cupboard where my wife had to do her hair. The roof has water damage that did not happen recently, one can clearly see it is long term damage. The curtains are stained and there aren't even toilet paper holders. NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. There isn't even a TV which was terribly frustrating.
One room is part of the spa, and not separate. So, one has to respect and heed the business silence as well. Apartment is by no means private and a big disappointment. Apartment was clean and tidy, but very small and simple.
The staff at Accommodation @ The Spa made our wedding anniversary very special and we really enjoyed our weekend, it's close to everything in Clarens and perfect for a nice getaway.

Accommodation @ The Spa is very neat and well equipped with warm blankets and heat for the cold winter. The flat also has a fireplace that makes it extra cozy. Accommodation is centrally located close to restaurants and shops.

We had rain one day and the water came through the fireplace and into the door. Previous water damage can also be seen. We did have a very nice stay and it didn't spoil our time. Every guest should definitely visit the spa, definitely worth it and the staff are very friendly.
The nice modern unit is well furnished. The semi self-catering with a braai on the stoep is perfect. The private porch and view is beautiful. The bamboo can be cut again to make the view better. Everything is very neat and clean. The extras like natural bathroom essentials and the cold water and yogurt make it extra special. We were in a heat wave here so we brought our own fan. However, the bed is not a king size as indicated on the information.
Very clean, right in town. No interaction with staff other than getting the key. However, get the impression that smaller details remain behind, such as the curtain that keeps unhooking, cardboard in front of a small high window, light in bathroom but faint and one in front that doesn't work. It's small stuff. Did not affect the stay. Wouldn't stop me from staying there again either. Location is really good.

My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary in Clarens and the place was perfect for a private getaway with a nice view, quiet area, spacious accommodation and a 5 minute walk to town. We were also able to use the spa's Jacuzzi, and they gave us champagne to celebrate our time there.
One thing that made Accomodation @ The Spa stand out was the slipper and gown for each guest. Definitely an added bonus! We had a wonderful stay.
We took part in the Token D90 bike races and the accommodation was incredibly convenient close to start/finish and restaurants. Clean and tidy, exactly what we needed.

The unit equipped for two guests is very neat and clean, with quality bed linen and tasteful decor. The bathroom is spacious and private, shower works very well and nice toiletries are provided. Good instant coffee as well as ground coffee was provided with biscuits, breakfast cereal and yogurt - a nice addition. I have to confess, the cereal mixture was so good, I took a portion home with me. The location is perfect and walking distance to the shops and eateries. I will definitely stay there again.

I was expecting a modern, tidy place because the pictures made it look that way. We did enjoy the fireplace.
The apartment was very tidy with coffee and biscuits and even water and milk in the fridge. Everything you need was there. There were 2 umbrellas for rainy days. The electric blanket helped a lot. and we really enjoyed not watching TV but rather playing the games that are on the table. We will definitely use it again and recommend it.
We would definitely want to stay there again. The products in the bathroom are heavenly! On Sunday there was no staff in sight to receive us for our booked steam room session. The spa was open, we walked through all the rooms and searched, but the rest of the stay was really pleasant.
The few days was very nice and the service was friendly. Recommend a TV in the room, but otherwise everything was great and we had everything we needed.
Really enjoyed the stay there, and the hot tub in particular was a winner. Very comfortable and neat. However, I would have preferred to have been able to have a one or two plate induction stove in the unit, just to complete the self catering unit.

We were gone most of the time because of family event on the weekend. Maybe I would have find the unit unsatisfactory if I spent more time there. No carpet, so the room looks and feels cold. Only negative point. Milk and water in the fridge, gowns and slippers (HUGE) provided, was a nice touch. I mentioned that one bedlamp was out of order so it can be fixed for the next guests. The lady bought a bulb immediately. Not what I asked for or expected, again a nice touch.

Very nice place. I know it is Clarens and you want to spend time in the outdoors all the time, but a TV would be nice for those cold nights snuggled-up in bed. Maybe a small stove too. We were there for a wedding. Place looks exactly like in the photos. Nice neat and comfortable. For us it was a cold weekend. The place has no carpet, so it was just cold in the room. The wood did not want to burn in the fireplace either. We were worried about our car which had to be parked outside under the tree. Staff also very nice and helpful. Thank you very much.

We had a wonderful first experience in Clarens. Incredibly friendly girls at the Spa. The rooms were nice and clean, definitely value for money. Maybe would have just made sure there was gas, but luckily the weather was in our favor so didn't have a problem with it being too cold. I would definitely recommend it, was just walking distance from everything. And the view was amazing!
We are going at the end July. Also inform people to bring a passport for Afri Ski. We couldn't cross the border. Sofa and TV and carpets a must.
We had a very comfortable and peaceful experience here and I would be happy to recommend it to others.
We were looking for a place in Clarens that is close enough to walk everywhere but not in the buzz of the town. This place is definitely the best place we could find. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are extremely neat and luxurious for the standards for South Africa. The stoep overlooks the mountains for your morning coffee and sundowners, but I suggest that you go out on hot days as the rooms don't have aircon. Kitchen doesn't have a stove, but we didn't go there to cook so it didn't bother us, all the rest you will need is there. Final thought: If you are looking for 1000 threat Egyptian cotton bedding, valet parking, and room service this is not for you. If you are looking for a clean, cozy, friendly experience with a room that is exactly like in the photos, so no unexpected surprises, this is a perfect little place. The owner, a very friendly lady, thought of little things and details that make the experience nothing but a pleasure.
