African Silhouette Guesthouse, Retreat & Tea Garden is situated on the border of the Kempton Park, Bredell A/h and Benoni A/h is Marister, 20 min from OR Tambo Airport.The perfect layover between flights and destinations. The beautiful area provides an escape from city noise, providing an unforgettable nature experience with hearty hospitality since 2006.

The guesthouse and retreat is a quiet hideaway where families and groups can book stays for a maximum of 16 guests upon request. The retreat offers guests spacious air-conditioned en-suite rooms with a private entrance. In-room facilities include tea- and coffee-making facilities, a TV with M-Net and DStv, fans, and an outside shower in the secret garden.

A romantic ambiance for a newly married couple is available in the honeymoon suites with an exciting private garden with outside showers. Romantic moonlight picnics, midnight swimming in the pool, and sipping sun-downers overlooking the koi pond, and listening to a variety of birds serenading new beginnings.

Guests can enjoy an evening around the roaring fire in the boma, making guests feel as if they are in the bush. Lush beautiful gardens surround the guesthouse providing a perfect ambiance. A rock pool to cool down in summer, Koi dam and reading spots in the garden and picnic spots provides all that the nature lover needs in the heart of Johannesburg, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Airport shuttles and dinner is available upon request at an additional cost and aromatherapy massage treatments, and picnics can also be arranged at an additional cost.

The home and garden invite all travellers to a traditional South African experience of farm animals, horses, donkeys, rich birdlife and nurseries with a variety of large trees and indigenous other plants around.

Arrive as strangers. Leave as friends. Susan will do anything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. 15 minutes from OR Tambo and it feels and sounds like you are already in the countryside. I know where to stay if I need accommodation near OR Tambo again! It's with Susan and African Silhouette!

Beautiful guest house that is much more than just a place to sleep. Room was beautiful and comfortable, but above all Susan's hospitality and the effort she made to make you feel at home was the icing on the cake!

African Silhouette was a very pleasant and comfortable overnight stay, including a delicious breakfast, for our mixed group of family and friends. We needed quick access to the airport the following morning but did not want to stay in an airport hotel. Susan is a delightful host, accommodating our dietary requests and family configuration without any hassle. We approached her home from badly pot-holed roads and Susan directed us to a better road for the airport trip.

She was available at all times for our requests and went out of her way to help us with any request. already 100% recommend that the place be used. Ideal for people staying more than one night and ideal for long term stays. Very quiet area so ideal for safety and rest.

20 minutes' drive from O.R. Tambo Airport, you'll find this jewel. The owner personally picked us up and dropped us at the airport and spoiled us so much. Nice and private and spacious room with outdoor shower.

The place is 15 minutes from the airport. Susan is a friendly hostess who continues a delicious breakfast. The accommodation is very neat and equipped with air conditioning and also an outdoor shower. There is a swimming pool and braai boma and a small pond which adds to the peaceful atmosphere especially after a long busy day on the road in the hectic Gauteng traffic.

Unbelievable hospitality. They go out of their way to make you feel at home and to provide what you need. The rooms were spacious and warm and my food parcel was freshly prepared the next morning because I had to hit the road early. It was already dark when I arrived and when I left so didn't get to see much of the area.
