23 guests' feedbackMore than you can expect, very friendly, beautiful farm surrounded by trout ponds and lots to do in the area, even a bit of history at the war memorial for the fallen of the Anglo Boer war, also very close to Milly's and not far from Dull current off. Location, people, place and service excellent. Definitely recommend Anford.
A pleasant stay. The room booked was a bit different than the photos but it was not an issue. Clean and neat. Can't fault the bathroom - plenty of space and hot water on demand. The location in summer would be a must-see. They enjoyed the trees on the premises marked with their botanical names. Breakfast was very different from the normal, a welcomed change. Hosts were helpful and friendly - one of the few places you still get to meet them in person. An ideal stayover if you need a local point/base for the area or long hauling on the N4.
Very neat and clean. The room is well furnished with extra blankets, heater and electric blanket. I would suggest the stay anytime.

The farmhouse is perfect for what we had in mind. The house has 3 spacious bedrooms, a kitchen with everything you need and the nicest boma area just outside the house. There was more than enough wood given to us, so that we could have a nice warm time outside or even inside around the fireplace. The staff were very nice and helpful and welcomed us with open arms.
When it rains, the road can be very treacherous if you don't have the correct vehicle. But your destination is worth the journey.

There are a few things missing. No bathroom mats. Only one room had teaspoons. Only one room had hand soap. Nice peaceful place.

It's a very beautiful and neat place. All that bothers me a bit is the bad dirt road. But it's well located and the rooms and bathrooms are very neat. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
We stayed in the forest cottage. We loved the beautiful surroundings and the silence. We enjoyed a nice bonfire outside and the house was spotless. Great value for money when travelling in a big group.
It was the perfect weekend getaway, quiet in nature and silence. The atmosphere absolutely spoke to me and my soul was refreshed. The service was extremely friendly and the meals were tasty and affordable. It was a bit unfortunate that they didn't have the Coca-Cola Saturday night, but we can forgive them.
The room and bathroom are spacious and were neat and clean, the towels luxurious and sufficient, the bed comfortable, and the nice hot shower was welcome after our long drive. The shower soap was not of good quality. There were rusks, but literally only 3 in the bottle. Imagine the owners sleeping one night with a suitcase full of clothes in their own guest room and the next morning trying to blow dry their hair and comb and apply make-up, and then experience all the inconvenient features, which can be very easily corrected. It's not fun to put on makeup and comb your hair over the top of the coffee cups. An extra shelf or two to put your stuff on, away from the coffee cups, will help a lot. Turn the mirror across and move it across the proposed make-up shelf, or move the coffee cups to another shelf. Vertically, only a quarter of the mirror is used. Please provide space in the bathroom, there is literally no place to put your toothbrush. A chair in the room would be welcome. There is plenty of room for all the suggested extras, but without them the room is really uncomfortable.
Friendly and helpful receptionist who caters to every need of the guests. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the rooms are neat and stylishly furnished. Breakfast was absolutely the highlight for me, it was finally prepared with a touch of love!
Received delicious welcome drinks. Very quiet and beautiful place. Perfect for a weekend getaway. They also make a delicious breakfast.
Warm welcome by the owner, rooms and bedding were spotless. Meals are tasty and well prepared. Wherever there is a lack of attention around the trout ponds, the grass is long and there are many young trees that make the "cast" very difficult. There are plenty of trout in the ponds. It's a place that will see me again soon.
Anford Country House is apparently under new management - and nowhere to be seen. We were welcomed into a very quiet dark ghostly house - by a staff member dressed in a tracksuit and beanie, as the only guests for the night. Rather amazing we thought given that the website stated that we had made the "last available booking" for this establishment. We asked beforehand if we could have supper at the restaurant - and were given 3 choices for supper, T Bone steak, Rump Steak or Chicken Schnitzel. The restaurant with a bar are advertised on the website - and was a draw-card for us as we’re traveling through town on the way to Timbavati. They have a room called "The Bar" but do not have a license to sell wine with the meals they serve, apparently because they are under new management - who are not to be seen. There is by the way no management. Anford Country House is a far cry from what you see in the pictures on the website - it is not what you see. A microwave had been placed on an old antique dressing table which rendered it unusable, and besides what could one do with the microwave as there are no utensils available. The whole place is locked up and you are left in this room. There is a limited channel service - no tea or coffee in the large common area available which is locked early by 8pm - you just have the room - which was a Superior room. Everything else is locked and unavailable. Luckily we had brought along a few snacks and had a bottle of wine for our trip to eat and drink. We had a bit of difficulty getting hold of glasses and ice - in The Bar - which does not really exist. We left the dark house very early the next morning - the one person on the premises kindly offered to serve us breakfast earlier. I did not feel safe - there was no support for the staff.
