We had a really nice stay. We've been to a few places in Paternoster, and Astrand 2 definitely made an impact on us. I got engaged in a surprising way on my birthday March 29, 2024 during our stay. Definitely a place to return.

Tranquil, quiet, peaceful and very safe. Everything was exactly as advertised, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Value for money, and we would use the facility again in the future, where needed. Some more curtains on the main door to provide more privacy would be a great addition to the unit, but everything else was sufficient.

Clean, comfortable loft accommodation. Fortunately, we arrived with our own tea, coffee, milk, etc. None supplied. One roll of toilet paper supplied.
Was perfect. Comfortable bed and pillows. Kitchen well equipped. Had an awesome 2 nights.
We slept great. All the complaint is the shower, we only had boiling or ice cold water with very low water pressure and the shower is shorter than 1.5m for people.
We didn't even stay. The moment we lit the fire in the fireplace, the whole place was full of smoke and we were just starting with making food. So I drove to the office of the agents, and luckily there was another place where they could put us to stay for the rest of our weekend. We should have known something wasn't right when we opened the door of Astrandt2. The smell of smoke in the air, but we opened all windows and doors to air out the place. But one thing is for sure, that place will never see me again. And it's such a pity because it is in a great location. If the owners can change or fix the fireplace and make some upgrades, then just maybe they can turn things around.
Fantastic! Quiet place with a nice sea view. Everything in the room that one needs. Everyone in the village is very friendly and helpful. Many options of restaurants available.

My wife and I have been staying at Astrandt 2 for quite a few years, and hopefully will be able to stay there for a few years more. It's the perfect accommodation for 2 people. The positioning of the accommodation is great.

If you visit Astrandt 2, practice your driving skills early in reverse because the parking is a little tricky, but a farmer can make a plan.

Place is comfortable for 2. Kitchen is well equipped and braai facilities excellent. They might provide a black pot then things are 100%.
Our stay was overall good. Second time booking this loft. However, the shower should be looked at please. The hot and cold water ratio does not stay. Either you burn alive or freeze. Also, please consider a UPS for the Wifi router.
It's a very nice place, but it smells like a straw house. (He has a fireplace inside and we suspect someone used it). It was the start of our holiday and we had to have all our clothes washed as the smell seeped into them.

As we entered the apartment we were met with a stuffy smell. We immediately noticed that the bedding didn't look the same colour (white) as on the website. The ones we were given looked old and washed out. A big no for me as I only sleep on white linen in my home. The crockery was dirty too. There was dust on the top of the curtain rails. The top window had cobwebs. There was mould on the walls in the bathroom. There was 1 roll of toilet paper and 7 hangers supplied. There was no glass provided in the bathroom. There was hair on the kitchen floor as well. So we were very unhappy for the duration of our visit at Astrandt 2 specifically, this did somewhat take away from our overall experience of Paternoster. It was our first ever visit that side so the experience was made bittersweet by the state of the apartment in question. I will definitely never book there again.

I'm shocked by the filthiness of this place. I would like to send my photos I took as evidence. You guys should be ashamed! I am posting a proper review and all the pictures on every social media platform! Food splatters against the walls. Dirty light switches. Thick, sticky mold in the shower. I made a point of trying to clean it myself to ensure it is not marks that can't come off. The marks came off without any cleaning agent.
Cutlery and crockery are outdated. The Braai area is not clean. House was not cleaned properly, just did not feel comfortable putting food on the tables and counters without cleaning ourselves.
There are dirty barrel marks around the light fixtures and cabinet door handles. Think it hasn't been washed in years. Some of the towels had holes in them. It should have been replaced a long time ago. The accommodation is definitely "overpriced".

Apart from the problem with the security gate which we struggled to unlock, we had a great stay and had a great time. Fortunately, the people from the office sorted it out for us very quickly. Unfortunately there was no WIFI available.
Lovely apartment with the necessary. Nice close to the beach. All we struggled with was the shower. Pressure not good and as soon as you have the temperature right then all of a sudden it becomes boiling hot. Furthermore, we had a nice stay and slept well. The wind also just blew us apart especially when we wanted to barbecue but it was a lovely weekend and will go there again.
Nice close to the beach. Recommendations: Would be good if the floors are serviced once a week if they change the linen. Utensils were short in the unit which were not replenished during our stay. A full length mirror in the bedroom is really necessary for hair blowing etc. A gas hob and kettle is necessary especially during load shedding instead of an electric stove. The fireplace in the unit has a lot of unwanted bugs in it that are constantly coming out and crawling around on the floor.
The place wasn't cleaned properly, I had to spend an hour cleaning surfaces with glass marks etc on it when we arrived. The stove/oven also had visible dirt. We specifically booked the place so that we could enjoy the indoor fireplace, but when we tried using it, we couldn't open the flute which seemed to be stuck for a longtime so wasted a whole bag of half burnt wood and had a smoke filled room. We heard what we thought could be mice in the ceiling. this should be checked out. The shower temperatures also need to be reset. While showering the water would suddenly get piping hot and luckily I moved quick enough to avoid burning my skin. We do enjoy Paternoster and the place was very near to the sea which was awesome. We enjoyed our stay overall.
My husband and I stayed at Astrandt 2 for two nights during the October school holidays. I honestly feel like the flat could have been cleaned much better before we arrived. The braai area as well as the little balcony were both quite dirty and we washed most of the dishes before we used it as the coffee cups still had marks in them from the previous people that occupied the flat. The lid of the kitchen dustbin was also missing, so you need to touch the dirty lid if you would like to dispose of something. The flat definitely needs a bit of maintenance as well.
It was really pleasant to stay there. It is a peaceful environment with little or no disturbance. The beach is a very safe environment for walking or fishing. The accommodation is also in a quiet and peaceful environment. Would recommend Astrandt 2 anytime.
Awesome location, very close to the beach. Place is well furnished too and very safe. Only thing that bothered me was a constant scratching sound in the ceiling right through the evening. Think there might be rats in the roof.
Place was neat. But used after smoking. Would be welcome to indicate which direction is open or closed of the fireplace. Fireplace will definitely be used in winter. Because of the smoke, everything from us after smoking used clothes and such. But would be excellent place for 2 lovers.

While we were there for a weekend we had loadshedding & could not cook breakfast or boil water for coffee as all the appliances works with electricity. Best option is to go with gas.

Astrandt 2 was very well equipped with everything you could need. Everything was in neat condition. Also had a great barbecue on the private veranda, and enjoyed coffee on the balcony with a partial view of the sea. Would like to stay here again.

The location of this cottage is very well located within walking distance to the beach. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need and a nice rustic atmosphere. Hanging out on the balcony was the most beautiful and a view of the ocean was wonderful. I would definitely highly recommend this place.
We really enjoyed our stay, however, the room reeked of smoke, and when I checked the website, it clearly stated no smoking inside. So that would be my only gripe, the place was clean, close to the beach, and safe. It was just the cigarette smell that was very off-putting.

I would recommend Astrandt 2 anytime. It is a beautiful place: clean, tidy and you felt right at home. We were touring the West Coast and wanted to stay in a "fisherman's cottage". Although Astrandt 2 is not a typical "fisherman's cottage", we were very satisfied.
The apartment is well located in relation to beach access, though not much of an ocean view. We found the place clean and tidy and most things we needed were there. It was strange to me that a self-catering apartment didn't have a single saucepan or pan in it - our breakfast plans had to be ruined! We also only found half a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and since we got there after hours, there wasn't any for sale until the next day either. The alarm didn't work - so we were just worried about our belongings when we were out. A wonderful visit in an interesting and cheerful place that was very reasonably priced.

Please furnish us with your banking details on arrival. Keys will not be handed over under any circumstances unless the key and breakage deposit has been received.
