Really enjoyed my stay at Auberge de Courtrai. The host and staff are delightful and really made me feel at home. My room was spacious and the bed super comfortable. The guesthouse has lovely unique touches, beautiful artwork, and attention to detail. Breakfast is good, and the setting is warm and cozy. If I could have stayed an extra day, I would!
The service, food and hospitality are great! The rusks, chocolate cookies and flowers in the room are an extra treat. Thank you very much for the effort. See you again soon.

The guest house in Paarl where I have stayed for the past 16 years has changed hands. I decided to try another guest house (Auberge de Courtrai) and I was not disappointed at all. Just a shame I didn't discover this earlier!
Old rooms, part of owner's house, parking is difficult, no aircon with loadshedding.

The most picturesque guest house I have visited so far. Couldn't take enough pictures. Great escape and nicely tucked away. The surrounding silence was sweetly accompanied by the wind playing with the palm trees and the rest of the greenery around. A friend mentioned after I showed him one of the videos I made, that it could easily be a Caribbean island. So my stay was very nice. Will definitely return.

Enjoyed my stay at Auberge de Courtrai. Had a well-equipped clean room with a view over Paarl and a lekker breakfast. This will definitely be one of my first choices next time visiting the area.
Auberge de Courtrai had certainly been a good choice. The staff overflows with friendliness and hospitality. The over-the-top splendor of Auberge de Courtrai parallels that of Paarl. Aunt Zettie was even kind enough to treat us to free breakfast! It truly felt like a second home and I would definitely stop by again. Thank you again for a wonderful weekend!
At the rate one pays, I do not feel this was worth it at all. Arrived there and they advised me that the swimming pool is not available, yet it is advertised that there are swimming facilities available. They advised that there are braai facilities, however when you arrive there, you find out you have to pay an additional R200 to make use of the braai area as this fee goes towards the cleaning of the braai area, this was not stated on the website. Fortunately I had my braai in my boot and used it instead. Wi-Fi is advertised yet the Wi-Fi does not work upstairs. The only great thing about the room was their beds, which I must comment was one of the best beds I have slept on in a while.
We had a wonderful stay, Zettie was so friendly and hospitable! Thank you! The breakfasts were a treat. There was a slight problem with the DStv - my husband is a sports addict and a poor sleeper so he watches at night! But it really wasn't the worst!
We had a good night's rest at this guesthouse. Our car was safe and the staff were very helpful.

The owner decided to change the terms of my booking. I booked for a family room as I had 4 friends with me (fortunately one did not make it) and when we got there she had put us up in a double room and she kept on making excuses about giving it to other guests and forgetting. I think she has no respect for people and gave the room to other guests whilst I had paid for it. She brought in a single bed and we had no privacy. Then she made a promise to give me a free night, the next morning at check-out she changed those terms too. She has no honour or respect for clients.
The place is beautiful and neat. The rooms were better than I expected and I will definitely make use of them again.

We had a two night stay at Auberge de Coutrai. We were warmly welcomed and treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. Our requests for a cot, feeding chair and use of kitchen facilities to warm baby food and bottles, were all met with such friendliness. Our rooms were very comfortable and clean. Delicious breakfasts were served timeously and very professionally. Thank you Marta and Zettie for your outstanding hospitality!

Very friendly, hospitable people. Quiet and peaceful with a lovely garden. Very neat and comfortable rooms.
The parking area is nice - rather leave the double cab at home and travel with the Polo! But the nice safe and off the street. A car is essential as it is not walking distance from anything.
Owner managed well and it is obvious.
Not enough towels. Not an account. Not covered for us for breakfast. Worst coffee all holiday, and no fruit salad with breakfast.
