Great base for a visit to Augrabies National Park. Interesting building - the old Augraboes Hotel.
Very nice place and comfortable to spend the night.
The accommodation is good and beautiful. I can't believe the grass is so green! How do you manage to have such a nice lawn in the dry Kalahari! I would have appreciated a non-smoking outside dining area as our room did not have a balcony or outside door.
We had a wonderful stay. Friendly reception and Pietie helped to get all our luggage into the room.
The chalet we stayed in was extremely pleasant. Everything was nice! Slept well and ate well!

The place is quite nice but the noise from the trucks in the neighbourhood is too loud. Also, the wind brings the smell of diesel. I think that the lodge was nice and pretty fine.

It was functional. Doors all squeak badly, disturbing everyone's sleep. Delivery vehicles roar every morning at 5.30am. No WiFi even though it is advertised on the web page.
Was ideally situated but would have preferred accommodation in the park itself. Amenities were good but staff not quite friendly nor helpful.
The accomodation is fine and convenient, but I think more for a business traveller than a family on holiday. Accomodation is on the first floor if you have lots to unpack and carry. More a hotel/motel style accomodation.
The specific place we booked was allocated to others. Just shrugged and we had to stay put in a corner with no view, with the back of the kitchen, generators and air conditioning as a view and all the noise. No reasons given. Will never go there again. Been there before, where we had the place on the first floor with a view and balcony. Chose the Lodge specifically for that view. They didn't know that we knew where we would be staying until I pointed it out to them. No reasons or nothing provided. I refused to pay 2nd night. Would never have stayed there if I had known we would receive that room. So disappointed in them.
The campsite is on the main road and next to a liquor store where people make noise until late. The local people are also constantly rushing in and out of the premises. Our experience was not good.

We were very well received. The room is spacious, neat and clean. Everything worked well and we had a very nice overnight stay there. The place is conveniently close to Augrabies Falls. I would definitely recommend the place.
Willie had no issue giving us another flat with self-catering kitchen. The stay was great, clean, and very neat. Just one request: they need to look at the WiFi availability in the cottages and not charge the guest on request. Other than that, 5 stars for them.

The loadshedding is a problem, the lodge does not want to turn on generators for aircons during 00h00 - 06h00, which is a problem. Also no WiFi facilities included, it must be purchased extra.

We had a great stay at Augrabies Falls Lodge & Camp. Some small snags — the light on the extraction fan was not working, and the hand shower in the bath, did not work 100% (the water temperature was not right). We would have loved some extra bowls for dishing salad. The can opener needs replacing.
Suggestion, free WiFi for guests with a specific guest password would be very good.
The 70-year-old hotel has been beautifully complemented with modern, neat and well-equipped units. The owners went out of their way to accommodate our needs. Truly a place worth visiting.

Large spacious and modern accommodations. Restaurant choices are very good and price is right. Just around the corner from the falls. Will not be disappointed. Feel free to drive around the area and enjoy the beauty of the falls.

Room six was spacious with a recently upgraded bathroom. Dinner at the lodge's restaurant was first class.

Beautiful spacious chalet. Very nice and clean, but only hot water for one person to shower. No hot water in the kitchen. Only one remote control for 3 air coolers. The bathroom light does not go off even when the power is turned off.
Nice lawns on the campsite. Restaurant good. Only the road noise and noisy pedestrians are an obstacle.

It was a great stay. We were given the braai area with all braai equipment and plates. The only sad part was they don't have a swimming pool, and the place is very, very hot. The heat is unbearable.

The photos on the website are a true representation of what you can expect from the lodge. It was very quiet when we were there as it was out of school holidays. The roads leading to the lodge and the surrounding area are in good condition. My only negative comment I can offer is that reception didn't offer us a WiFi code so I don't know if it was available. The six-bed unit we stayed in also only had one bathroom and toilet, which was a bit of a challenge with so many people. The power outages are of course also a problem since the lodge has no generators or gas. As we were only staying for one night this didn't bother us too much and they went out of their way to provide us with boiling water for coffee the next morning. We had a peaceful night and never felt unsafe.

The Augrabies Lodge has all amenities required for very pleasant stay rooms, chalets, a pub and a restaurant all at a very reasonable rate. We stayed in a chalet which could do with some retiling, but otherwise, it was clean and very comfortable.
It was very nice at the lodge. It was just hot, but the Augrabies waterfall, no, it wasn't worth it.
The place is beautiful, neat and clean. However, it is very popular and therefore very busy. During our stay there was a type of convention with a large group of people making a lot of noise, and the next day there was an art market. So choose your time wisely.
I booked a room with a balcony, but on arrival was placed in a standalone unit. When queried I was informed that all the rooms were closed due the expenses of running the generator during loadshedding. DSTV remote was faulty, but after many queries not resolved.
A lot of noise. Along public road. Camping sites near the road, but the security gate is not manned, and anyone can easily gain access and do harm at the camping sites.
Same with the Friday. If you are camping, this is a huge problem because no one can get any rest. If you are staying in the lodge itself, this should not be such a big problem. Because of the bar next to the lodge I would not advise anyone to camp. The bar next to the lodge is the reason why I would not advise anyone to camp there. This is actually a great pity. Very cute place.

We were welcomed very kindly and were quickly taken to the self-catering unit. The air conditioning was very welcome, it was about 39 degrees outside, with an unusual humidity for the environment. The unit is well equipped and the service was better than we expected. The two nights there were definitely worth it and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The people went out of their way to make it pleasant for us and even moved us to another room on the ground floor at no charge. We wanted to barbecue and they even provided everything. All thanks to Estie.

The Lodge is ideally situated, close to Augrabies falls, Riemvasmaak and the Pink padstal. The Camping area is lush green ideal for camping. The chalets are spacious and accommodate 4 people. It's a good stop and rest point.
The restaurant could do a little more to ensure cooked food is not served cold so the waiter is called to reheat. Otherwise, all great.
We arrived an hour after check in and our room was not cleaned and ready. However, once in the room was clean and sufficent for the night. It can be a bit confusing with the name as it is not inside the park. The hamburgers were good and the kitchen staff was nice. The falls were spectacular and defintely worth the visit!

The air conditioner in room 18 spilled water on the pillows. We reported this and were promised other pillows which were never provided.
We ate on our first night in the pub. Many people were smoking and the manager was joining in their conversations making no attempt to stop the smoking in spite of the SA law. Young girls, certainly underage, were buying alcohol in the pub. The hotel room was 'tired' and depressing. The two sets of instructions from Upington were contradictory.
Noise. They didn't know about our reservation. Given other room where there was a lot of noise near the bar.

However, the waterfall is a must see and just a stone's throw away making Augrabies Falls Lodge the ideal place to stay, however there are plenty of other places to visit. Augrabies Falls Lodge & Camp is located a stone's throw from the falls and the rest of the beautiful national park. The resort is super neat and the chalet was sparkling clean. As they say, between the white sheets and on the tarmac! To come home after a long day of travel or a hot day next to the mighty Gariep and kick off your shoes and later light a blissful fire to grill meat, the stay at the lodge was worth every cent and even more. The staff are helpful and friendly - what more could you want! We will visit there again anytime, a real sleep leak experience.

Augrabies Falls service was great, unfortunately not self catering but still good value for money.
Restaurant staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Food very tastefully prepared.

Dear Website, This is a very comfortable campsite with your own private shower and toilet and sink. If you don't feel like cooking they have a good restaurant. And it's only 3 km from Augrabies.
WiFi was charged at an additional cost to the traveler. In today's times its taken for granted that WiFi is a standard feature. This was also not clear at time of booking or we would have chosen elsewhere.
Good service. Safe environment. Secure parking. Will stay there again.

Was a very nice pit stop in the middle of our holiday. The Augrabies Waterfall was absolutely worth it, the first visit for my children.
It was good. Music from surrounding areas was a bit loud at times but was not much disturbed.
Room is small but comfortably clean and tidy. Good bed and bedding. Has a patio outside with table and chairs but couldn't use as it was raining and has no roof for protection. A fridge would be handy. We asked reception twice for dinner that evening in the dining room and were assured that there was room. Ended up at a table outside and it was cold. Was moved in later, waited a long time for food, but was very nice. Compliments to the chef. Did not stay for breakfast.

The workers in the nearby vineyards went home singing around 02:00 on Saturday morning. The Friday night and early Saturday morning had an awful lot of noise, fighting, people shouting in the state, itself a (so it sounded) car race. On Saturday night, a nearby shebeen/tavern made it impossible to sleep until about 3am. After two nights of almost no sleep, I was relieved to get home Sunday night to rest.
I would like to request that Augrabies Falls lodge will notify other guests or warn in advance if there are large functions such as the matric farewell the night we stayed there. If we had known that the matric farewell would take up all their attention, we would have canceled and gone to sleep elsewhere.
Bedding and towels very poor, lodge needs attention.
Have to remark on their food. Seems they believe quantity will make up for good quality. If they give food more attention they would be brilliant.
Had young people next to us who were very disturbing until late at night.
The resort's location was not where we expected it to be. Thought it was closer to Kakamas. Had to drive again and again to get to places we wanted to be.
Our family spent the night at Augrabies Falls Lodge & Camp on the way to Augrabies National Park. We stayed in a detached self-catering unit. The unit was neat and very spacious. The staff is very friendly. It is a great establishment and we would love to stay there again.

Overall the pace is good, just had an incident with a blocked toilet, battling to get the stove to work and to battle the staircase with all the luggage. Apart from this there is nothing wrong.
Lovely and facilities, bathroom and washing up, which was very nice as each campsite has its own. Street was very busy and we were located right next to the street.
We had problems with our reservation. Booked the three bedroom unit on the ground floor. Receptionist reckoned that the unit which is on the first floor which is reached via 2 sets of stairs is what they consider to be ground floor. They changed it to a 2 room outdoor unit at our insistence. Did not adjust the price. No coffee, milk or soap in the unit. Delicious food and friendly service in the restaurant. The bar was a bit expensive.
Speed bumps are necessary as 4 step vehicles drive in and out very quickly where small children are playing outside. How about tables and chairs outside under the trees?

We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit separate from the lodge, very neat and very spacious, we stayed 3 nights, everyone at the Lodge was very friendly, the food was delicious, we celebrated my daughter's 21st there and they were very made an effort to set the table nicely! Perfect location for the Augrabies waterfalls. We were 5 adults and they accommodated us with an extra mattress and we paid for an extra person per night. Would definitely recommend to travelers as accommodation in the park is very expensive.
We had a wonderful stay, everything was neat and clean and more spacious than expected. Friendly staff and for us coming there for the first time, it felt like another country. Very close (driving distance) to the Augrabiesvalle. Although there is a neat and pretty garden, it obviously doesn't have the view of the houses at Augrabies itself, but for a good night's rest, delicious food and reasonable accommodation, this place was perfect.
An oasis where everyone should spend the night and refresh themselves. Incredibly clean and tidy. Here, each person can just come and relax and cool off in the most comfortable self-catering unit or rooms. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful with extra information they are happy to share about the area. The restaurant offers the most delicious dishes that are worth every penny and prices are pocket friendly as well as the bar's prices are pocket friendly. The campsite is spotlessly clean and leafy green with the ablution block comfortably furnished. The Augrabies Falls Lodge & Camp can really be supported by any traveller.

Went out of their way to give us an easier accessible room after they noticed I was having a hard time walking.
Beautiful, luxurious and neat accommodation. Upon our arrival at three o'clock, full of dust and tired of the journey, they were still cleaning the cottage and moving over beds.
The lady who received us was friendly and helpful. There were no shortages in the accommodation. With a light that went out the service to replace it was quick and friendly. Also the food is excellent. Even the laundry service was effortless. Many thanks to the team.

Very comfortable and close to the falls, a lot to do next time I will spend 2 full days there to visit nearby villages as well the lodge is well located to get to more interesting places quickly. Nice braai facilities and everything you need to enjoy it.

We used Augrabies Falls Lodge & Camp for one night on our journey from Langebaan to Upington. This remarkable building is situated in a very nice garden. We had the very spacious and clean room #6, which once was the honeymoon suite - what a treat! The staff was very friendly, the food was excellent. Secure parking. Would love to come back, highly recommended!

We stayed two nights in a room for 6 people. The room was neat and clean. It was the middle of winter and room was quite cold, but there was an indoor braai/fireplace which we used as well as an air conditioner that could heat. The staff were friendly and helpful

It was a privilege to experience God's wonder nature and to be able to get so close to the beautiful majestic waterfall. This was not our first time and certainly not our last. Vic Falls can only wait if you haven't been to Augrabies yet!
Augrabies Lodge was very accommodating as we moved our date of stay twice. Loved the nostalgic feel as it was an old hotel, built in 1953. Eating hall was neat, table well set, ate a gourmet burger. Tasted good although patty was cold. Room was comfy, good bed and pillows and enough warm blankets. Aircon did not work, DStv was a bit out of sync, bathroom needs maintenance. We enjoyed our quick stay. Staff really friendly. We left at 6am, not sure if the front door was locked. Gate to road was left open.

We found the lodge to be an excellent position to stay for our visit to Augrabies Falls and the surrounding area. The entrance to the lodge is very pretty with fantastic use of the old tree trunks and huge rocks from the area. Accommodation excellent and clean, with the restaurant offering a very wide range of meals.

Unfortunately, the guests smoke badly in the bar and we had to sit down in our room to watch the tennis at Wimbledon, the smoke was very disturbing even in the living room.

It really was value for money and the house was well equipped and clean. The bed was very comfortable. We were worried about the noise in the area. It was salary weekend and there were big parties at the neighbours'. I don't know how one should handle that. It was not on the Augrabies Lodge's premises, but it made us feel restless.

Description
The 2-Sleeper Chalet comprises 1 bedroom and can accommodate 2 guests at a time. The bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. The unit has an open-plan kitchen fitted with everything guests will need for self-catering, a living area with dining table and a lounge with comfortable seating and a TV with DStv. The unit also features private braai facilities and private parking.
The lodge offers a variety of rooms ranging from modern double rooms with balconies to spacious, fully equipped, self-catering units and chalets and even a lush campsite with private ablution.
The well-appointed bedrooms and units each feature a TV with DStv, a fridge, towels, linen and other amenities.
The lodge also boasts an excellent A 'la Carte Restaurant on the premises which offers breakfast, lunch and dinner options.
Catering for family braais, romantic picnics or events can be done by prior arrangement.
