17 guests' feedbackThe chalet is perfectly furnished and clean. Nice and cool inside when you come in from outside. The view over the river was breathtaking. The owners are very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to accommodate and make guests happy. They even bought a pair of gumboots especially for our grandson while they were in town. Prospective anglers should know that this is more of a yellowfish fishing spot. There are a lot of rocks, but that didn't stop us from thoroughly enjoying ourselves. We just want to suggest that the little shop might stock more essentials, such as dish soap, sponges, toothpaste, soap etc. It will accordingly help campers a lot.
Apart from our noisy neighbours, the few nights at Banja Dreams were nice. We got to swim, play volleyball, and fish a bit, which is just what we wanted. We wanted to get out of Jhb for a few days and relax.
We slept very well here! The place is beautiful, neat and very cozy.

The stay was awesome, very peaceful and quiet. People stay to their own and don't bother. Communal bathroom and shower facilities are always clean and smell good, never an off smell, something you can get in communal facilities. Very friendly staff and very helpful.
The host was incredibly kind and helpful all the time. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable as a solo camper. I had the view of the river and sunset, which was the highlight of my stay.
The grounds and facilities were good and the management was friendly and efficient. The fishing was a challenge with lots of rocks causing the hooks to get stuck.
We had a nice fishing weekend, thank you. The chalet was clean and tidy, and the resort well maintained. We only recommended to them that a name plate and renovation of the reception room would make the place perfect.
Quite far from city life. Too relaxing listening to birds and the sound of the river flowing at your back. Beautiful place.
I recently stayed at Banja Dreams, and while the view and the campsite were quite lovely, there were some significant drawbacks that affected our experience. The water temperature and pressure in the showers were fine, but the showerheads were terrible, making it difficult to get a proper shower. The most concerning aspect of our stay was the condition of the animals in their petting zoo. They have a donkey, a calf, and emus, but unfortunately, these animals are living in poor conditions. The calf was matted and skinny, which was very distressing to see. The donkey's enclosure had litter, and the animals' water was dirty. Their enclosures were small, offering no space to roam, and there seemed to be no adequate shelter for them when the weather turned cold. While the location and views were beautiful, it was hard to fully enjoy the stay knowing the animals were not well cared for. I sincerely hope the management takes steps to improve the situation for these animals soon.
The stay was great for what you pay for. Very rudimentary, lots of work still to be done on the camp ground. The hosts went over and above for the kids. They had lots of fun activities, Easter egg hunt, face painting and slippery slide to name a few. If you are afraid of spiders, don't go.
Unfortunately, Banja Dreams did not meet our expectations at all. Firstly, the access road was in poor condition and Banja Dreams is considerably far from Vanderbijlpark, the nearest town. The resort looked neglected and cluttered, the charlet has old furniture and only basic kitchen facilities. Even the curtains were neglected, with a spider peeking through them. The chalets are not suitable for stays longer than just a weekend. The bed mattress was covered with thick plastic, under the sheet, which rattled with every movement and made it extremely uncomfortable. Unfortunately, our arrival was not a positive experience. After a long day's journey from the Western Cape, we arrived at Banja Dreams around 19:00. It was pitch black due to a power outage apparently caused by a fallen power pole. There was also no water available as the power was off. We were unsure how long the power had already been out and the solar system had stopped working by then. We had to drive back to Vanderbijlpark to get food, as we could not unpack our luggage due to the darkness. There were no candles or flashlights available in the chalet for such emergencies. The next morning there was still no power or water, which meant we still couldn't use the bathroom or toilet. Our cell phone batteries were almost dead and we had to drive to Vanderbijlpark again to buy a charger that we could use in the car to charge our cell phones. We also got insecticide to get rid of the unwanted guests in the curtains. We waited until 1pm and then decided to cancel our reservation and look for accommodation elsewhere. You helped us quickly and with excellent service. At that point, our greatest need was just to be able to shower.
We had a very nice stay. There were many people booked in the resort but everyone was calm and friendly. Owners came late afternoon to ask if everything was ok and were very friendly. Everything was nice and clean. Children enjoyed the pool table and many children enjoyed the pool and slippy slide. It was really value for money. Our breakage deposit was also quickly paid back into the bank account without a problem.
We had a very nice stay. Great fishing and lots to do for kids. Even my little dog was allowed (arranged in advance). Very quiet and not noisy, really a nice place to get away from the noise of the city.
