There is also a room that sleeps 6 which is ideal for groups of fishermen, cyclists or motorcyclists on a budget. The Whale and Dolphin rooms each have 2 single beds. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, private entrances, secure parking and free Wi-Fi.
If you are a group of at least 6 guests staying a minimum of two nights then we can possibly give you exclusive use of the establishment.
The establishment has a communal kitchen, shared between just four rooms, a TV lounge with an Alexa smart speaker, and a spacious outside entertainment verandah with braai facilities. There is also a large garden that has kite surf kit cleaning and drying facilities. Hammocks are available so that you may sit back, relax, and enjoy the garden.
Safe off-road parking is available for boats and bikes as well.

Everything you needed was there, lots of space and comfortable.
The room was so beautiful and of course the kitchen area was nice for socializing and barbecuing with other guests. I would definitely book the same room again.

Everything was good. Well equipped and neat. A plus was the electric blankets on the bed on a very cold weekend. However, I know the description states that a solar powered geyser is used, but a very clear forewarning that you might not have a hot shower available when the weather is mostly overcast and rainy would be appreciated. I hope that this would be seen as the constructive advice that it is intended to be.
It was great for the two nights, small and manageable. Would appreciate the TV channels being upgraded to DStv channels. The view is beautiful.
Although the accommodation was very neat and clean, it is not a guest house. This is purely a "Backpackers" accommodation and was definitely not what I had in mind when booking. I also booked at another place on Stuisbaai and believe me the latter was great.

No, we didn't have a good stay at all. What is offered on the website is not what we got, we had to share a house with other strange people, no safe parking.

The room is equipped with two single beds, a shower and toilet. It's only small. The kitchen is separate and must be shared between guests.

The rooms and facilities were clean and tidy. The unit we stayed in feels quite cramped, but fortunately there is a nice space on the veranda to sit outside.

The self-catering unit we were in is unfortunately very hot in the afternoon in the summer. The bedroom's windows open onto the porch of another unit and those guests were noisy until late at night. The place also lacks a few things such as a glass or plastic bowl and mug that can be used in the microwave.
The Geckos Room at Barry's Guest House is furnished prettily, has all the amenities one needs in terms of tea/coffee, kettle, hairdryer, extra blankets, towels and soaps, TV, WiFi and security. The room is well proportioned and not too small. The bathroom is en-suite, with a door that closes. The room opens onto a wide, covered veranda that has various types of seating like couches, garden chairs, a long table with benches, even bar stools with a high table so that one can enjoy the veranda in different ways while being shaded from the sun. The veranda leads to the kitchen, which is very well stocked regarding crockery and cutlery and it is spic and span. Unlike some other establishments I have visited. There is a covered braai area too, with different sized grids available and one can easily buy wood from the office instead of having to go to the shop. Just off the veranda is a lawn with seating of different types for those that want to be in the sun. There is even a hammock. There are games and toys for the young and for the young at heart such as badminton, table tennis and soccer and rugby balls. There is even a dedicated area with a hose for washing your equipment such as kite surfing or fishing equipment. The owners are very kind, helpful and friendly and one can ask them anything whether it's about the room, the guesthouse or the village. In fact, upon arrival, they supply a good and detailed map of the village. I was able to book a massage with the resident masseuse, and it was surprisingly good and professional at a very reasonable rate. All in all, a great experience and a wonderful place to stay. Thanks, I'll be back!
DStv channels not working, requested double bed, instead got two single beds joined together. Wife's back sore. Us must have own TV in room.
The bed was very uncomfortable. No WiFi. We stay in several places on a regular basis and have stayed in cheaper places which were much better value for money. WiFi and DStv are about the minimum standard these days.
