209 guests' feedbackAfter a long journey in the car with grandma and little boy, Be Blessed was a lovely place with space, large lawn, outside area with braai facilities and warm beds. In the street near the church.
Be Blessed was an ideal accommodation as a halfway stop from Pretoria to Cape Town. It lived up to our expectations, as it is situated in the historic town of Richmond in the Upper Karoo.
Excellent location, good service, room well equipped, enough hot water. Kitchen utensils may be replaced. Thanks for good service.
Everything we needed was there and our animals were also kindly received.
We have stayed at Be Blessed a few times and each time the service is good, the accommodation neat and well furnished. The WiFi works well and there is limited power supply from a generator during load shedding. We travel with our 2 small dogs and the beautiful garden is an oasis.
Very nice place to sleep.
A good place to stay overnight on the way to the Cape. It's pretty in the middle.
It is very quiet and slept well.
It's the fourth time we've stayed at Be Blessed. Rooms and facilities are well maintained, always tidy and a pleasure to spend the night there.
Felt there could have been more windows for air flow through the unit.
Silence and calm to be able to just relax and grill some meat. Peaceful reception and a pleasant night's rest.
Wonderful stopover.
Their bed's mattress is just finished and sleeps like a rock.
Friendly welcome and given directions to the places to have dinner as well! The accommodation was excellent - that double bed was just what my back needed! Facilities great and the place is neat! We did miss the fact that there is an Anglo-Boer War Blockhouse in Richmond.
Ideal to stay over. Friendly staff and always helpful.
Great people to deal with. Really enjoyed the hospitality.
Nice garden and pool, everything we needed. Aircon and well-eqquiped kitchen.
Excellent. Value for money.
Too many mosquitoes but it is beyond the control of Be blessed. Overall a very pleasant stay.
Everything we needed for one night's sleepover. In advance we received a message with a loadshedding schedule, but there was a generator, so phones could be charged and lights and TV could be on. Village had a problem with water, but water was taken care of. Pleasant stay.
Lovely garden and pool.
Clean and tidy. Beds sleep great. Beautiful garden and friendly service.
Close to the N1. Well located on the way between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
We needed overnight accommodation for my family during our trip. Be blessed was perfect as it was reasonably priced and service was excellent.
Was an overnight destination for me and my wife on our way to Cape Town from Pretoria. Was a nice place to stay because it wasn't too expensive and close to the main road that we were on again quickly to Cape Town.
We stop to get some toasted cheese sandwiches for breakfast at the Veldmuis at 8h00 and the people were so friendly and helpful.
Our unit was well equipped and we felt safe and completely rested and appreciated the quiet.
We arrived late, but there were no problems.
Value for money. Just had a little problem with booking.
Even had warm blankets. They also keep firewood.
Deceptive from the outside, but beautiful place inside. Rooms even had warm blankets on beds which was lovely during the cold.
Our overnight stay was pleasant. We needed freezer space for our cooler bags. This was happily accommodated.
Nice braai facilities and beautiful gardens. Accommodation was small but acceptable for just one night's sleepover. Unit needs some attention. Curtains need a good wash and rest of unit a thorough cleaning.
Overnight only. Sleep and drive.
Was perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. Neat, clean and beds very comfortable. Friendly reception.
This was one of the places that was more expensive than our other place where we slept, I would just like to bring it to your attention that there was not a small hand drying towel in the bathroom. And also no complimentary things in the bathroom. If one sleeps over one night, it helps to have things ready in the bathroom instead of unpacking all your things again. The shower is not hygienic, you should perhaps look into building a shower instead and the faucet is difficult to operate and is not very user friendly. We were woken every now and then in the night by dogs barking or lorries reversing and you only hear beep beep beep probably for 2 hours. Sorry, but it was not a good experience for me.
Comfortable and tidy overnight stay.
Toilet was out of order, the TV was in the kitchen, no soap for shower, no WiFi, environment feels unsafe. Host/wife is friendly. Accommodation unfortunately not up to standard or recommendable.
It was clean, but not many places to eat because we were there on a Sunday.
Good value for money. Staff is very friendly.
Many thanks to the host and hostess who quickly catered for us after we arrived a day too early! Our stay at Be Blessed was wonderful. The garden is beautiful and a pleasure for the soul and spirit. The braai pekki is also a plus - nice to stretch out after a day's driving.
The place was perfect, clean. Host friendly and everything was ready for us.
We really enjoyed the stay. Lots of space and good facilities. My daughter also enjoyed the animals. Saag also went the extra mile to help us with a flat tire I had which I greatly appreciated!
Very clean, centrally located.
I love the fact that there is an electric blanket, more beds in the room (double bed and two single beds). Reasonable price for the room. Clean environment and a nice landscape and well taken care of swimming facilities. Friendly staff members. I will come back again, will recommend it to my friends and colleagues. I am highly impressed. Keep up the good work.
Large garden, quiet location. One large bedroom with lots of beds in our unit.
The staff is friendly and helped us a lot. Our apartment was nice and tidy and tastefully furnished. My child also enjoyed playing with the dogs.
Very nice place to sleep over. Have stayed here 9 times and will stay here again.
The unit was clean and tidy.
It was really hot, 39°C, when we got there in the afternoon. I was tame and tired after 7 hours of driving. However, the apartment was wonderfully cool and the clean and blue swimming pool a pleasure. Too nice.
It's very nice for a quick stay over, somewhere to put your head for the night. Really great.
Neat, comfortable place for an overnight stay to the Cape. Everything you need to rest for the long road.
Lovely large yard and pool and friendly pets to keep children busy.
We stayed in a comfortable 2 bedroom unit that had everything we needed. The car had secure indoor parking and the person who met us was very helpful. The lady who sent us the directions in advance was also very pleasant.
The grounds were beautiful and the service friendly.
The old NG Church is beautiful, all the shops we were in had friendly staff. The accommodation itself was very neat and clean, and definitely value for money.
Comfortable for overnight stay.
Second overnight stay at Be Blessed. Friendly reception. The units are neat and clean. Quiet and peaceful with a beautiful garden. Secure parking behind a locking gate. Walking distance from restaurants.
It was nice with the grandchildren to sleep over at Be Blessed. They thoroughly enjoyed the space and pool. Had a good barbecue at the communal boma. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
To break a long trip on the N1. Large garden to stretch your legs in and a swimming pool! What a treat in a hot Karoo dorpie!
Neat, clean and comfortable.
We were received very kindly. The unit we were placed in is for a family of 4. Nothing exceptional. I would advise the owners to perhaps open windows and curtains before your guests arrive. The unit was dark and the smell not pleasant. The smell of linen that has been in a closet for months. The garden is beautiful and there is plenty of space to hang out outside with a swimming pool and barbecue facilities. We didn't use the braai, but enjoyed a delicious dinner at the fat mouse farm kitchen.
Nice clean and friendly staff.
Will need to work on recommendations on places to eat. Not paid much attention.
The facilities were good. The only problem was the shower which comes loose from its bracket at the top and falls into the bath when the tap is turned on.
Had a comfortable night after a long day on the road.
See stars.
Beautiful garden, pool and braai area. A real blessing for a toddler who was stuck in a vehicle all day. You've created an environment which is very special - all the guests even end up getting along and we left with new friends. After high season, the inside of the unit could benefit from a deep clean/repaint.
Thanks for a nice sleepover in Richmond.
Hooks for wet towels please.
Swimming pool is a big plus in the Karoo. It is very neat. Kitchen was just a bit small and the fridge stank. Attention should perhaps only be paid to small things eg paint, carpets, electric cables etc. Value for money.
Provides value for money.
Big turtle in the garden, my little girl had fun playing with the dogs, well equipped kitchen.
Room had an odor upon arrival which was not pleasant.
Place was nice clean and quiet, slept well. All bad we experienced, the one couch in the kitchen smelled of cat pee when you sat on it. But otherwise the place was nice and clean and we had a great stay.
Car was not close to apartment, a trolley for luggage would have made it easier. One room door for 2 bedrooms was inconvenient, if it was your children who were together it might have been acceptable, but not friends.
Be Blessed was good as an overnight stop. We just needed a kitchenette to warm some food and a bed for the night. Luckily the bed had electric blankets as it was icy outside.
We spent the night there (winter) a few years in advance. Enjoyed it immensely and the service was excellent. Just the week before they were on a TV insert which made us look forward to the visit even more. The children's excitement was great because we would now be staying in October and they could swim in the pool. Big was the disappointment when we got there and the pool was so dirty that you couldn't even see the bottom. The pool sure didn't look like the picture or the web page. In the kitchen, every dear plate was chipped. I felt so embarrassed to let my mom eat from the plates after I told her how cute the place was. The cutlery was odd and not neatly packed. There were not enough glasses at our disposal. Coffee and tea were provided, but no milk. After we called, 4 small milk triangles were delivered. We were 5 people. We arrived there late in the evening and left early again. We had to decide who gets coffee tonight and tomorrow morning. We felt very neglected. Clearly no attention was paid to the little things.
Definitely wouldn't recommend it. Not neat and clean. Shower only has 1 door, sheets broken.
Very comfortable, smart and clean. Will definitely stay there again.
Friendly reception. Everything was ready for us.
Very neatly and tastefully furnished.
We were blessed with lovely rain in the Karoo, which made our stay even more special! Everything was in place and the owners go out of their way to make sure you don't need anything.
Ons het heerlik om die swembad gebraai terwyl die kinders baljaar het na n lang dag in die kar. Skoon en netjiese kamers met alles wat jy benodig.
It was our overnight stop between Cape Town and Johannesburg and was very comfortable, clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful, convenient parking for caravan. Restaurant just across the road was a plus.
It's the 4th time I spend the night there on my way to Cape Town from Mpumalanga. It's quiet and without noise though Is there a swimming pool. You experience everything there positively.
The units are very nicely furnished. We liked the green grass and braai facilities. We had a good time relaxing before we ventured on the long road again.
Nice halfway stop for Bethlehemites going to the Cape.
Master bedroom was comfortable, but the second room is too small for two beds so the door could not close. No privacy.
Everything worked in accommodation, tidy. Garden is very nice and swimming pool clean. Also walking distance to restaurant. Secure parking.
Child friendly and very well looked after.
Nice garden. Restful. Good overnight stay on the way to the Cape.
Be Blessed is about halfway between Johannesburg and Cape Town. Site is fenced and parking is secure. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful and the garden large and well maintained
Location not the best.
Great overnight stay!
We had such a nice stay at Be Blessed. Will definitely spend the night there again next year. It really is a loop court and the gardens are beautiful. Very still. Swimming pool if you get hot. Would definitely recommend the place.
Everything was perfect, the chalet was clean, lovely hot water for a shower, friendly staff and even a great eating experience at Die Krib. The pool was also a wonderful way to unwind after the long drive. Our dog was also very welcome.
The room is a bit neat, but everything you need. Clean and tidy. We ate the best lamb chops at the Manger and will be talking about it for a long time! What a wonderful discovery!
Lovely gardens and a large swimming pool for the children after a long day on the road. Will come back every year.
Beautifully maintained accommodation. Hospitable and friendly owners. Highly recommend this overnight stop.
Comfortable, neat and clean. Slept well and enjoyed the tranquility of the garden. Would highly recommend.
Comfortable, neat and clean. Slept well and enjoyed the tranquility of the garden. Would highly recommend.
It is always a pleasure to stay at Be Blessed Selfcatering! The service is professional and personal. The accommodation is clean, tidy, we slept well and took a warm shower and had a delicious meal at the restaurant. What more could you expect from a place to sleep after a long day on the road.
The accommodation was very comfortable, everything a traveller might need was available. Very neat and clean. We stayed here at a reasonable price. We will definitely stay here again.
Ons het heerlik gebly, en sal dit definitief aanbeveel. Awesome plekkie en awesome mense.
This is our third time staying here on our trip to the Cape and back again. Very safe and nice resting place. Staff very friendly.
I'd definitely recommend Be Blessed. Beautiful, safe, neatly maintained, well furnished place to stay when you travel between Johannesburg and Cape Town. Would definitely stay there again.
For a quick overnight stay, the accommodation offers value for money.
Very nice stay! Was our third visit and we return every time for the neat accommodation, cool pool and good service. No towels were provided for our stay this time - it wasn't marked as not being offered, not sure if that might have changed since our last visit.
As always, clean, neat, friendly reception, very nice atmosphere, children enjoy the pool after a long journey.
See stars.
Be Blessed is absolutely a 5 star place. Neat, clean, peaceful and everything you need and very tasteful. We will definitely stay there again.
Very nice, very neat facilities!
Would recommend to any traveller. Excellent. The only negative part is the fridge's freezer. Covered with ice, almost impossible to use. Previously also slept in exactly the same room and the fridge's freezer was also completely covered with ice. Pay attention to that. Thank you very much, everything else excellent. Even precautions for mosquitoes. Thank you very much. Friendly reception too.
Very cute and neat self-catering units. We traveled with a 2 year old and there was not a bathtub in our unit. It was a bit difficult to shower with the little one, but apart from that we had a very nice stay. Thank you very much.
Thank you very much, had a great night.
Everything you need is there and was quite adequate as an overnight stop on the way back to Johannesburg. A big plus is that they are pet friendly.
Would've liked a table of little cupboard in the bathroom, there's no space to put your toiletry bag. It would've been nice to meet to owner/manager. It makes the guest house much more personal.
Everything is there, convenient.
See stars.
Received very hospitably and ate well in their restaurant, Die Krip.
Very nice stay, it's halfway between Bethlehem and Stellenbosch. Will definitely do so again.
We were warmly welcomed and the rooms were very well furnished. The best pet-friendly place we have ever stayed. Will stay there again for sure!
Perfect place to stay especially for families!
Clean, comfortable, safe units with excellent service. Meals from the menu were top notch. Will definitely stop by again and highly recommend Be Blessed!
We have stayed there more than once and definitely will again. Cheap accommodation and we had what we needed.
Was very pleased with what we received at Be Blessed Selfcatering. Friendly reception. Clean, tidy and affordable. Can recommend for sure.
Halfway between the Cape and Pretoria. Lovely big garden. Very convenient.
This is definitely the most beautiful place to stay the night that we have ever visited. Unbelievable, beautiful and well-kept gardens, and all this in the Karoo, also the accommodation was pleasant to spend the night in.
See the stars.
Extremely professional service!
Nice stay, peaceful environment. Recommended.
Very friendly and helpful service. Clean and neat accommodation halfway between Cape Town and Kroonstad. Will definitely recommend it to any traveller. Rooms are big and neat. The green lawns are beautiful.
We enjoyed the stay - and our 2 Terriers were with us. I recommend this quiet location.
We were pleasantly surprised in this neat place.
Nothing to complain about. Had a great barbecue, visited and slept.
Well equipped. Aircon and a swimming pool. Walking distance from restaurant.
We were very kindly received by Calla and were pleasantly surprised by the large trees, green lawn and nice swimming pool where the children could play after a long day's driving. The units are very neat and perfect for an overnight stay. Thank you very much for great service and stay!
Rooms were just cold on arrival. Recommend that curtains are drawn beforehand and heating is switched on.
Ideal for people with pets, spacious and tidy rooms with nice braai facilities and a lovely swimming pool.
A very well maintained chalet in a secure and pleasant setting.
An oasis in the arid Karoo. The beautiful garden, tranquility and the rich birdlife was an avalanche.
Be Blessed is a neat, comfortable and safe overnight destination between Cape Town and Gauteng. It has comfortable barbecue areas, and a swimming pool to cool off in after a long journey. The units are tastefully furnished and have everything you need. Highly recommended!
The boiler in the kitchen can be descaled more often. Refrigerator does not close well. Cabinet under the sink also has trouble closing. Small things, but I'm satisfied.
The accommodation was neat, clean and safe. The service was incredible and the help we got from Sean puts this guest house in a class of its own. We will definitely stay here again.
The unit was neat and well equipped. Our children really enjoyed the swimming pool and the large lawn.
We really enjoyed our overnight stay at Be Blessed. Our children were able to get rid of all their energy before they went to sleep. The adults could then relax and have a good rest. The unit was large and comfortable beds. I can recommend Be Blessed for families as an overnight stay option.
Very clean and practical. Would not recommend in winter though as hot water pipes were frozen and no hot water in the morning.
Neat rooms, comfortably furnished (except for the inconveniently low mirror in the bathroom). Just a bit too far to carry your luggage from your vehicle to your room. Beautiful garden in a Karoo town. Nice, convenient braai.
On a cold night a heater in the kitchen/lounge area would be very welcome. The large number of electrical cables is annoying, and the shower mixer is difficult to fix - maybe limescaled?
Lacks more attention to detail such as location of mirror in bathroom, no soap in bathroom, no place to hang clothes.
Very pleasant well equipped accommodation. We were well received and had a wonderful stay. Great!
I was pleasantly surprised with accommodation, neat and clean, was welcomed by the staff with a calm and friendly atmosphere. The Karoo lamb was the icing on the cake. Will definitely stay there again.
Everything was comfortable and clean. We were kindly welcomed and the young man was very helpful and immediately made us feel at home. The eatery is a stone's throw away. Be Blessed was the best guest house in Richmond for our family and will definitely stay there again on the way to Cape Town.
The place is very neat and the garden is beautiful, would recommend him anytime.
Was warmly received by Saag. Slept in family room. They thought of everything, even Peaceful Sleep against the mosquitoes. Would definitely recommend.
We had a lovely stay at Be Blessed accommodation. The unit was spacious and well equipped. The units are in a large garden and very peaceful, just with birdsong. We heard no traffic which is such a blessing. The proximity to the village was good. We walked to the village and never used our car for three days! The hosts are cheerful and friendly. Be Blessed comes highly recommended.
A quiet and hospitable haven. Sumi and Saag are such easygoing, hospitable hosts. The place is beautiful and well maintained and laid out. Hope to see you again soon.
Many thanks to the staff who made our stay so pleasant. The rooms are clean and tidy and it's lovely to just sit and relax after a long journey. This was our second time at Be Blessed and we will definitely stay there again if we travel to the Cape.
We traveled from JHB to CT.
I can recommend this guesthouse to anyone. Value for money. The restaurant, Die Krip, offered delicious dinners and we enjoyed them in front of the fireplace.
Be Blessed was an oasis after being on the road for 10 hours. From the moment we arrived there we experienced the Karoo hospitality. Saag and Sumi immediately made us feel very much at home. The room was spotless and we had a great rest for our trip to the Cape. The Krip restaurant made the most delicious Pizza.

Will make use of Be Blessed again and recommend it where I can.
Very convenient stay.
Be Blessed was our overnight stop on our trip to and from Cape Town. With small children and a dog, our list of needs is quite extensive. Be Blessed met all our needs and we will definitely visit them again in the future. The swimming pool was a blessing after a long hot day and their grounds are akin to paradise!
The unit was nice and spacious with aircon. Kitchen well equipped and there is a nice swimming pool to cool off in.
Lovely place in the country. Delicious food and very friendly host and hostess. Would definitely stay here again. Everything you'd need is provided and nothing is too much effort. I would unequivocally recommend this place.
It was a pleasant stay.
Will always go back.
We slept very well. We were very glad that we could watch the rugby.
See stars.
This is our second stay over and we will definitely recommend this establishment to friends and family. Thank you so much for your friendly service.
Warmly welcomed by owner and everything clean and comfortable.
We really enjoyed it at Be blessed, with our busy city life it was like an oasis in the desert. Will visit again anytime, thank you Be Blessed and LekkeSlaap.
We had a great time. Neat and clean.
The carpets were dirty as well as the walls. The walls in the bathroom were mouldy. Bedding and towels were clean.
Small things that bothered us, like cleanliness on walls, bathroom sink plug/drain not complete. Was lots of mosquitoes which was probably not owner's fault. The children's slide was also damaged which meant our children could not play there for safety.
Beautiful place and friendly service, thank you.
Stayed at Be Blessed en route to Hermanus for holiday. Arrived at 14:00 and the kids were able to play in the pool. Highly recommended.
Neat rooms and kitchen. Friendly reception. Will definitely stay there again.
Very neat, comfortable overnight accommodation between Johannesburg and Cape Town. Just a pity they don't have a camp hut.
We had so much fun staying/overnight here that we have already booked there again for our return trip from Cape Town to Gauteng.
We only stayed one night on the way to Cape Town. Facilities were completely adequate and it was quiet. Ideal for an overnight stay.
We will definitely be back, if they can promise us a hot shower. Basin had hot water 05:30 in the morning, but shower was freezing. Besides this issue I really recommend it and will book again. Maybe also a little more milk for an extra cup of coffee?
Stayed over one night and enjoyed it very much. Beautiful neat rooms.
We stayed at Be blessed on our way from JHB to Cape Town. The location was great as it's exactly half way. The premises were very secure and the rooms were nice and large. Will use be blessed as a stop over again.
We checked in on Christmas Day at Be Blessed on the way from Pretoria to Cape Town. The owners of Be Blessed were really stunning! We felt so welcome! The unit we stayed in was excellent, the décor is beautiful in the rooms and there was aircon (we really had a good night's sleep). The kitchen is also well equipped. Our son had a good time playing outside with the 2 labradors on the premises and had a lot of room on the lawn to run and play. My only complaint (and that's just because it's Cape Town), was that the neighbours made a lot of noise with loud music and cars being revved. It did stop by 22:00 thankfully. We didn't complain about it to Saag and Sumi because we realise that it was out of their hands.
Would have enjoyed kindness and little bit more attention.
Good location, neat and comfortable. Restaurant available.
'n Very convenient self-catering unit. Well equipped with warm blankets and air conditioning. It's just a shame that the blinking fluorescent light couldn't be repaired.
Good value for money. Neat rooms with all the necessary facilities. Quite a lot of mosquitoes, but precautions are taken with the necessary repellents in the room. Dinner can be a problem if you arrive late and haven't brought anything to eat, the only restaurant closes a bit early and parking in front of the restaurant feels unsafe after dark. But I will use the place again in the future.
Quick and easy in and out. Very nicely appointed with what was available.
Would recommend Be Blessed Selfcatering to any weary traveler looking for a safe, clean and peaceful place to sleep. Thank you.
Quiet and peaceful surroundings, beautiful yard and garden with large lawns, secure parking 30 meters from spacious room which has all basic self-catering facilities. For city dwellers, the windows without burglar bars facing the street are unusual.
Be Blessed: The owners were not there, but we were kindly received by Felicity. The facility needs some attention. There are dirty spots on the carpet in the room. There were no complimentary toiletries, not even hand soap. The coffee and sugar were not in individual portions. The sugar bowl was not completely clean. There is a broken geyser outside the room window. The kitchen door has a large rust spot with obvious rising damp on the wall. There is no mirror to apply makeup. There was a small one that was taped to the cabinet.
We only stayed one night, December 26, 2015, on our way to the West Coast and had a great rest. Friendly reception and place was very comfortable and clean with all equipment for self-help.
Very pretty. We had a wonderful rest.
A fantastic place where everyone felt welcome, even the dogs too. Very clean and tidy. We slept and ate wonderfully. This will definitely be our annual "stop over".
We had a nice stay. It's close to everything with a nice and clean swimming pool. It's value for money and there is no noise.
Very neat place to sleep. Perfect for Johannesburg / Cape Town overnight stop. Will stay there again.
