We had a lovely stay at Bitjie Vrede. The place is beautifully decorated and the scenery is very beautiful. Schalk helped us so nicely on Saturday with the kitchen light that was out, thanks for the help with that. The only negative was the other group of female guests who made terribly unnecessary noise until very late at night and basically took over the place (my daughter couldn't swim at one point), but you can't control all the guests. Thanks also to Schalk who handled the situation so that we could enjoy the necessary peace and quiet on Saturday evening before our triathlon on Sunday morning.
Bietjie Vrede staff and owners alike went out of their way to check on us and made sure we had everything we required and more. We were greeted with smiles by Calla who made our hiking trip and sleep over phenomenal. Calla was there continuously checking if we needed anything to improve our stay. Never before has someone done this for any of the people in our group. We will definitely doing a return trip soon.
All i can say is I'd still go back there, that's the place to visit if u need peace of mind.

Me and my family had a wonderful stay with them, the place was neat and clean, Calla was very polite and helpful, the stay was pleasant, it's only the weather that was a bummer, what I did wish though is that their fridges were a bit bigger, but will recommend the stay there, worth every cent. Will definitely book there again.

Nice environment, clean. Cleaning services and laundry services make it convenient. Hot tub was relaxing and when help was needed, Calla and Sandra went out of their way to help. People in the area stood together to find my puppy that had gone missing.
Enjoyed the place so much.
We requested to be able to check in earlier as we were on our way to an event and would not be able to return until late in the evening. We were greeted kindly and were able to receive the key at 11am on Saturday and unpack our luggage, while check-in is actually only 2pm. We realize this could only be because the unit may not have been occupied on Friday night, but it's still a very nice gesture.
Highly recommend the place, good value for money and very tidy. Just would have liked a coffee station or coffee in room etc.

Nice quiet place.
The owner went out of his way to make sure there were things like braai wood and ice. A lot of effort was also made to help with my broken down car. I will never have enough words to express my gratitude. The place is beautifully looked after, peaceful and made the 4 days with my dogs really a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, there was 1 day when the electric fence was not on and chickens from other lands came through, which made the owners want to go hunting all the time. It disturbed the peace a bit, but at other times it was really enjoyable for me and my dog children.
Enjoyed it a lot. Half an hour's drive out of Rustenburg, but definitely worth it.
We arrived unexpectedly late and Sandra was still at the room to receive us. Very peaceful with a nice garden and braai facilities. Small pool is available to cool off.
Quiet environment and friendly.
My wife and 2 children and I spent the night at Bietjie Vrede on 27 Feb 2021. We chose the place on the website because the photos and description created a peaceful atmosphere. We got exactly what we were looking for. The caretaker, Calla and his son were very nice. The pool and lapa are very neat. The rooms are clean and the place is furnished with everything needed. We will visit again.

Reception was so friendly and made us feel at home straight away, even old Bushman (puppy) who came to say hello was lovely. Will definitely visit again.
Guest was not connected.
Had a very warm friendly welcome. Lekker braai area, pool close by the chalet. Close to hiking area. Peaceful and beautiful. Will recommend to other guest, it just shorts large pots in chalet.
The location is good and easily accessible. The units are well equipped and have OpenViewHD (which we didn't need), but some of my family in the other units had a problem with too few towels for the amount of beds.
We enjoyed our stay. Will be back!
Bietjie Vrede is a self-catering unit that is ideal for overnight stays when attending a wedding etc.

When we arrived with our two children, there was no one to receive us. After a search, we found the person behind the bar and had to ask to be helped with keys. They then first connected the gas bottle to our unit. No wine glasses in the unit and we borrowed one from the bar. Only 3 forks in the unit, but we are 4 people, just went to buy plastic fork the next day. Biggest disappointment was the pool which seems to be under construction. The children were so disappointed and are great swimmers who were looking forward to the pool. Maybe they should let you know ahead of time that the pool is out of order.
Very friendly, they really make you feel welcome. The place is clean and tidy and the pool is so small but so much fun. The Jacuzzi, however, we didn't use because they didn't tell us beforehand that they will charge us for it. But besides that it was an awesome experience staying there. Johan, the guy who works there is the friendliest person.

Thank you very much Johan and Schalk for your hospitality, we had a great time and enjoyed the Jacuzzi very much. Wish we could have stayed longer and would definitely recommend you for a nice break or weekend getaway. All I would recommend is that maybe you could improve your DStv channels a bit, especially for people with children, because my little one pretty much kicked up a fuss about not being able to watch her stories. Otherwise excellent service and hospitality.
We only stayed there one night and it was nice and quiet, away from any highways.

A very pleasant stay, not contractors accommodation that is found in this area. All my needs were met. Clean and tidy. A warm reception on arrival. Will definitely stay again at Bietjie Vrede for business or pleasure.
Unit is comfortable and tidy, although everything was not in unit (e.g. bread knife, small plates), it was vining provided on request. Suggestion: bedside table with another bedside lamp on the other side of double bed, mirror in room. The gas geyser does not work 100%, water either too hot or becomes ice cold as soon as the cold water tap is turned on. Light at braai will help. Peaceful, quiet area for those who just want to rest and relax.
Bietjie Vrede is a good base for interesting activities in the area like the canopy tour, Buffelspoort dam, game drives etc. The rooms are neat, tidy and well equipped. We enjoyed our stay.

Bietje Vrede is a place I would recommend to anyone. It was an absolutely wonderful time we had there and I would like to share with everyone that there is a very homely atmosphere. Even though the rooms were occupied and the place full of guests, we really enjoyed it.

Peaceful stay here.
The floors were not clean. The glasses in the cupboard were not properly washed. The beds were full of dust and dirt. The shower was full of spiders and cobwebs. There was no hot water because the gas bottle was empty. I feel like you look at things like that before you let people stay in a place.
Only small thing was that the shower only had cold water.
Very good value for money and Johan was very hospitable and always available immediately if we needed anything. If you want rest for your soul, I suggest you go rest for a weekend at Bitjie Vrede!
Upon arrival, we were very kindly received by Schalk and Johan who made us feel at home immediately and for that we thank you very much! Our overall feeling about Bitjie Vrede was the peaceful atmosphere. The friendliness of the people in the area. The barbecue fire under the boma was very nice with other guests. We will definitely go to Bitjie Vrede again. A recommendation from our side is an air conditioner (air-conditioning), otherwise we were totally impressed with how they set up the place.

Even though we got there on a rainy day we still enjoyed it. It was very clean and the place had a nice cozy feel. Bietjie Vrede is close to quite a few fun activities and it's not too far from Johannesburg. If you are looking for a nice getaway, but like comfort, I would definitely recommend the place.

Neat accommodation, a beautiful garden, quiet evenings and a hospitable host, and rest! I have only one serious complaint. I specifically chose the area because I was drawn to the Tree Top Tour facility. On the Thursday evening of my arrival at Bietjie Vrede, I decided to have dinner at the Sparkling Waters Hotel, and then simply to obtain the necessary information from their Tree Top Tours. When I got to the gate, I was denied entry. When I asked why, the reason was that the restaurant was fully booked. I found it strange, but accepted it and left it at that. The next morning I drove to Sparkling Waters again, and AGAIN I was denied entry. I was so incensed that I can't even remember their pathetic reason. I tried calling the hotel but couldn't get through. Meanwhile, the owner arrived at the gate. He also gave me his pathetic reason why I was not allowed to enter. When he heard I was interested in a Tree Top Tour, he suddenly gave me the rates and times right there at the gate. I made it very clear to him that if I am not welcome like a civilized person to obtain such information for myself at his reception desk, then he can also keep his tours to himself.
We enjoyed the weekend. Everything is neat and there is everything we needed.
Every thing was excellent, I give it a 5*.
