This was our 2nd time staying here. The place is very neat and we had a nice stay. However, there was no drying cloth or sponge in the kitchen. There is also no freezer where you can store your frozen meat or ice. The outside braai drum is completely rusted through and it was already like that on our previous visit.
We were at Blue Bay Lodge for a family visit at the weekend. We booked the 6-bedroom cottage number 7 on the beach. There are not enough words to mention everything here, the cottage was neat and clean, newly redone, the beds were of high quality. The main building's services were excellent, the restaurant met all our needs and many more, the staff were helpful even outside normal working hours, the ladies' bar is a nice hangout and chat, socialize and relax environment with very reasonable prices, it is the best place to find a starting point to check out this year's flower festival. It's really not far from Jacobsbaai and Langebaan and flower-watching is a must, thank you very much for your hospitality. We will definitely come and pack from you again.

Absolutely client-centric resort, nothing is too much from Management to the cleaning staff. It's a little gem in the middle of obscurity. Love the beach views but think the beach is neglected and needs proper clean-up with seaweed and dead and gross worms everywhere. Unfortunately that leads to not-so-beautiful beach walks. We will definitely be back because the resort, restaurant, and riding for my daughter were all.

Service in restaurant very slow, but food very nice.
Very friendly and warm reception on arrival. The Ceder Park unit was at the far back and actually privately owned. At eye level, the unit looks okay. The unit consists of four bedrooms that are separated by a courtyard. Resulting in one having to walk through the courtyard to get to the living room and kitchen, which may be perfect for adult couples, but in my opinion, it doesn't work well with small children, especially at night. The bedrooms were neat and clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Curtains were old and faded with curtain hooks missing and window blinds are also broken and a sight for sore eyes. Bedroom closets were very ugly, but we had to use the hangers to hang our towels on as the bathrooms none had any hooks or rails for facecloths or towels. There are washing lines outside in front of the unit which isn't convenient at all. We found a scorpion, small pincers and a thick tail, under my little one's pillow. So do be on the watch for nature's creatures. The kitchen had a fridge, freezer and bar fridge which was very pleasing. The washing machine is also a winner, just bring your own washing powder. The kitchen utensils and cutlery really need attention. The 8-seater dining table in front of an indoor braai is a perfect setup for dining and playing board games. We discovered games and cards in the TV cabinet. However, it took us almost 2 hours to sort it out as 7 card decks were literally thrown in the TV cabinets. The games were thrown in the boxes. One remote between 2 televisions is not acceptable and upon consulting with the reception we were told, the owner refuses to give the TV remotes which is truly off-putting. Small touches and attention to the unit for the comfort of paying visitors would have made the visit more enjoyable. The resort facilities, swimming pools and play park made up for the inconvenience of the unit. The resort is perfect for small children and pleasantly pleasing for adults.

Our experience at Blue Bay Lodge in Saldhanabay Holiday was far from satisfactory due to two major issues. Firstly, the photos displayed on the website did not accurately represent the actual condition of the unit. Upon arrival, we discovered that the unit was in poor condition, with worn floors, broken furniture, and a dirty kitchen area. Furthermore, both the courtyard and the exterior of the unit were also dirty and in need of refurbishment. However, we must acknowledge that after bringing these issues to the attention of the lodge, they made an effort to address the situation by providing us with a better-condition unit and relocating us. The team of agents was also eager to assist and help resolve the problems we had raised, which we appreciated. Another significant drawback of our stay was the state of the beach. It was in bad condition and needed to be cleaned of debris. This negatively impacted our enjoyment of the coastal environment. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that the entire bay and the town of Saldanha are severely affected by pollution from mining activities. Subsequent reports have highlighted the detrimental impact this pollution has on the health of people residing in the area. Overall, our experience at Blue Bay Lodge was marred by the discrepancies between the advertised photos and the actual condition of the unit, as well as the cleanliness issues and the environmental concerns related to the beach and the surrounding area.

Our cottage was well equipped, clean, fresh and comfortable with the most amazing views through the large windows. The staff went above and beyond our expectations to assist us. The receptionists were highly capable, warm and welcoming. The lady at the bar served us drinks even though they were closed. The resort is peaceful while offering enough activities to keep guests entertained. We loved the bird hide. Our bed could be more comfortable, but the rest of the furnishings made up for it. We wished we could stay longer.
Our family getaway was exactly what we needed - peaceful, scenic and completely amazing. Loved the sea views, little play park for the kids and privacy - felt like a home away from home.

Blue Bay Lodge was wonderful. We stayed in one of their 3 bedroom oceanfront units. The unit was renovated 3 months ago. Very tastefully done with everything you would need and the view was picture perfect. As we went at the end of July it was a bit chilly in the evening, so the indoor barbecue was a great touch. The restaurant was beautiful and the sea view made it that much better. The food was delicious. I would recommend the hooks and chips, some of the best I've ever had. The service was also 1st class. It's a wonderful resort for families, couples and friends. We will definitely visit again.
Was a very pleasant, memorable weekend with only one downside. It was too short. Nice and quiet and relaxed, close to pool and beach with friendly service. Will definitely come again, just book early next time so I can enjoy a spot with a sea view. And a much longer visit.

We were kindly welcomed, but the rooms were much smaller, especially the bathroom. Not good value for money at all. Restuarant area is nice.
The tranquility and silence is deafening. It's so safe that we could forget about the children, they could go to the beach or jump on the trampoline or frolic in one of the swimming pools while we relax a bit in the bar with the fantastic view. We come again.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Guests become first priority and will soon have guests satisfied and at ease. So for sure our first choice for a seaside break. Boys can swim in sea or pool. Pool water always so clean and always so tidy.
We were very kindly received on arrival and escorted to our room. The Executive Suite is modern and clean with beautiful sea views. Staff are particularly friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely want to come again!
The staff are so fantastic and well trained. The whole experience, location, food, views, service and hospitality was great, but I was terribly disappointed in the room that they gave us. For their high standards, I would recommend that they do not book that room out. It was tiny for 2 people and had a room-in-a-roof feel. We had endless hot water issues, it was incredibly stuffy and hot with two people and the worst was that it faced the parking lot and when the staff were waiting for their taxis to go home they were right at our window and super noisy. The curtain rod also fell on me while I was in bed. I think the room does a great injustice to a fabulous holiday and most people would probably leave very disappointed by that. We giggled about it but actually, it wasn't ok. I don't think it does the experience any justice and certainly is not worth the money I paid. I also found the breakfast very expensive for the amount that one can actually eat. I had a wonderful time but the room was boiling even with the noise and never had hot water when we wanted to shower so had to go to dinner without freshening up as the kitchen closes early.
Everything was neat. Only needs soap/shampoo. Also expect that for that price they will do the dishes themselves.

Reception very poor, woman just wants to move us and when I refused the keys were just thrown down. I had bump open the front door with my shoulder. Bathroom door does not close. Shower door I have to pull open with force. Tiles cracked and full of mould. Restaurant people are very helpful and friendly, willing to help, but food below average.
Would anyone recommend it. Service was very good from reception until we left. Very quiet and very private, love the chalets.

We can really recommend Blue Bay Lodge for accommodation. The self-catering units are well equipped and tidy and the whole complex is a sight to behold. The staff is particularly friendly and helpful. We will use the accommodation again in the future.

Only experienced a problem with the shower. There might have been something wrong with the regulation of the warm and cold water taps. We had to shower in either cold or very hot water.

The house is convenient but the stove is not working as it should. The double bed in the main bedroom is not very comfortable and there is a bad smell coming from the beach which is dirty and neglected. Nobody is cleaning the beach and the dead birds are making the smell worse. It is not pleasant to walk on the beach. We reported it to reception but the lady blames it on the city council who refuses to clean that part of the beach. Will definitely not go there again, not worth the money. And the photos of the units are misleading. Inside the lodge it looks like the photos but definitely not in the cottages.
Service at reception could have been better/more professional. We were not received in a friendly manner at all. We were also almost cheated with the money - they asked a larger amount than what we had to pay and when we asked about it the lady just said that they had made a mistake. The unit we were sent to had not been checked beforehand and on arrival the floor was under water. We phoned reception and they said they were on their way, but we had to phone a second time after a long wait. They then put us in a different unit. The photos on the website can really be updated. The place does not look like what we saw on the photos.

Lodge is centrally located, staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant's service is excellent and the food very tasty.
The Lodge is very neat, but there is not much for teenagers to do. It is too far from Langebaan, so if you are looking for accommodation close to Langebaan then I would not recommend this lodge. They might think to add a small fridge in the rooms, that would be a plus. Most places offer this and maybe air conditioning as well. The beach in front of the lodge is not a swimming beach and is very dirty. The food is very tasty at their restaurant and the staff is very friendly. You are not close to anything, and have to drive everywhere.
Can't enjoy the beach, it stinks. Restaurant was then due to a private function and we were not notified, we then had to drive far for a decent meal. The housing units are neat, but old. My family and I didn't enjoy the weekend, maybe it's just us.

We asked to move due to no internet signal in one of the cottages. The staff moved us and everything was perfect!
Welcoming reception and good service. Comfortable chalet very close to the waterfront. Restaurant has a beautiful view and the service is friendly.
The room was neat and the linen clean, but I must say the kitchen and the restaurant urgently need attention. We waited for over 2 hours for our food, our table wasn't even set properly and there weren't even napkins - we had to ask! The breakfast was powerful. The view is breathtaking, but the windows are so dirty. The management of the place will have to be looked at urgently.
We had a great time relaxing, beautiful view. Neat unit. The resort may just need to inform other customers about weddings and functions in the future.
Location is perfect, wind just blew an awful lot. We had a great time, but the units were not clean and the area outside by the braai area was not swept regularly. The drum also later overflowed.
Good experience, but the unit is quite outdated.
I would be very hesitant to recommend. The place is beautifully situated and has so much potential that is not being exploited. Was very disappointed, for example, that nothing was arranged for New Year's Eve and that staff could not recommend other alternatives for us either. I must also say that the 2 black staff members Oscar and Patrick's service was very good compared to the rest of the staff. Very slow service with some of the above, not friendly at all. Staff also not well informed about lodge or recommendations in area.
Would appreciate it if the resort informs guests of any weddings that will take place there and if some of the guests spend the night there. They were terribly noisy and we could not find parking for our vehicle.
