29 guests' feedbackReally nice stay! We were three couples sharing the main house (each couple in their own room) and three teenage boys sharing the cottage. There was enough space for everyone to stay comfortably, a well-equipped kitchen with all the necessities and everything was nice and clean. The only difficulty we had was beyond anyone's control, and that was the inclement weather! The house has enough heating, so we were nice and warm. We just couldn't use the braai during the rain.
It was exceptionally neat and comfortable. The garden is beautiful and so well maintained. Friendly, hospitable welcome. This is indeed a place to recommend.

The cottage house was cosy and clean, and the host was super communicative. They provided local recommendations and were available to answer any questions. The property is really nice, and I would stay again.
The stay was very nice. It is a nice cottage to live in and very comfortable. The only downside was the travel through the township right next to it when you come in from the Cape Town side. But when you travel from the east, then it's okay. I would suggest a better route to get to the house. Otherwise, it is a beautiful property and easy to live in.
Accommodation was clean, tidy and comfortable.
The bed mattresses are truly done. They can think about replacing it. Other than that it was delicious. Very nice people and the location is very convenient. The garden is beautiful. Lovely clean white cotton linen, which is always important to me. There is a lack of dishcloths, and a pair of scissors in the kitchen.
The security is a problem - there is none during the day. In the evening a "beam" is put on, not sure what time and if it is effective. Basically anyone can walk into the yard — no fence. The anti-theft system is very weak. This means you cannot comfortably sit outside or keep the door open during the day. For a single traveler, this is a problem. The 4/5 rating on website is misleading. I would think twice about trusting them again, it gives a poor impression of the website's ability to evaluate security. The owners play their music at full volume which doesn't work. I'm sure if I do there will be problems. Opera at 8 o'clock in the morning doesn't work for me (even though I like opera). The parking is difficult to enter or exit. They need to better control the other people who park badly and make it harder to get out. Then they park the Fortruner right in front of the garage that you only see when you come around the corner, and then you have to drive even better. Not a holiday feeling.
I would recommend Braeview Guesthouse to anyone, perfect quiet area and close to everything.

The garden is idyllic. The house is not modern, but it has old world charm. The separate cottage is great for a bit of privacy. For a big family getaway the cottage is the perfect space for the couple with a small baby.
It was a quick getaway weekend of peace and quiet. I can recommend Braeview anytime.
We confirmed our arrival time telephonically. We arrived 10 minutes prior to that and the owners were not home. All good. But after another 20 minutes and no answer on either of their phones, we got a bit irritated, as we had a 4 hour drive before arriving. At long last they answered one phone and sounded surprised that we were there. They told us where the key was hidden. We never saw them. No apologies. It was a very cold night. The heaters don't work properly and there were not enough blankets. Would not go back again, even though it is a good location.
On the website it said room for 4 adults and the pictures looked spacious. When we found the place it was 4 single beds (2 together and 2 next to each other). Unlike a backpackers, you don't expect 4 people to sleep in 1 room. The single beds on top of each other were not in the photos. So it's false advertising. As a small family with a 1 year old baby, we always need 2 rooms, so it was a nightmare to get the baby to rest and we all had to go to sleep immediately.

Ideal location - very close to Cliff paths and close to city centre. Stone cottage very inviting, great bathroom, nice to have a place to sit outside. Real alarm would be great; folder with info about the surrounding area and restaurants would be helpful.
Braeview is well located in a quiet neighbourhood. Well equipped for a longer stay in the family unit.

Peaceful and tropical atmosphere. Can be recommended for people who don't like noise.
A nice house with a garden. We stayed with six persons, we had plenty of space.
We stayed in the self-catering unit (apartment). We would very much like to go back and visit Hermanus again, and will definitely use Braeview for accommodation.
We rented the outhouse. The house is well equipped with nice braai facilities and is well located.
