Animal interaction, in nature and view of the Crocodile rivier when you go for a walk is special.
Not a nice stay at all. Building rubbish was at our house. The stairs to the deck were broken and unsafe. The splash pool was dirty and leaking. Keep i day then he is empty. You have to buy power for the aircon, but the aircon leaks and does not cool. The braai is dirty and rusted. Booked for 5 nights and had to find another place to enjoy our holiday. Only slept 2 nights. There are no animals either.
The staff was accommodating, they even contacted owners about a forgotten item which was retrieved. Thank you.
Chalet is small but comfortable with everything we needed. Lovely surroundings. We could go for a nice walk and see goats.
Dikwela load shedding. Only neighbor's generator that is disturbing. Even through the night. Comfort chairs can definitely be provided.

It was a pleasant visit in Marlothpark, at Buffalo Chalets. It was nice to be close to the Kruger National Park. We also had a great time relaxing at the Chalet, and at the shops in Marlothpark itself you can find everything you need. The animals that came to visit us in the late afternoon are really a bonus! We will definitely stay at Buffalo Chalets again.

The stay itself was pleasant. Two of the three days we were there, the entire resort's municipal water was off. The resort management will have to watch out for overgrazing! Some animals, such as the warthog in particular, do not keep a comfortable safe distance.
The reason why I say no is that the vehicle is too far from the residence in question, I had to buy power myself for the air conditioner, braai facilities are not as desired. You stare into a lodge right in front of you with noise from water tanks and generator.
All the facilities are there. The only things that bothered me were the blanket in the cupboard above which was dusty and the stair railing below which was not firmly fixed. The double bed on the top floor mattress could be of better quality. We really enjoy the goats and warthogs. Thanks to Precious for welcoming us and Joye for calling to see if we arrived safely.
The Kruger National Park is close to visit and there are many activities nearby to do, such as horse riding, quad biking and elephant visits. Lots of wildlife around the accommodation which makes it nice.
Thanks to the hostess and her staff for their excellent service. The chalets were clean and tidy. Linen was changed after a week. There is a splash pool to cool off and braai facilities for the campfire in the evening. Grills were cleaned daily and wood was available. The nature is breathtakingly beautiful and animals come to eat from your hand. Buffalo Chalets is highly recommended for family and friends to enjoy that getaway.
The owner and the husband were really friendly, the caretakers were also great. They even brought me a gift as it was my birthday.

I feel sorry for the owner, because the new lodge around her has taken away the whole forest effect. There is only construction debris around Buffalo Chalets and the new lodge's generator makes terrible noise when there is load shedding, not nice.

We stayed in Vlakvark and enjoyed it very much. The room was clean and well equipped and everything worked. It was a pleasure to spend time on the beautiful patio with the braai area close by. Parking can improve.

Just change the bedclothes and curtains to some color, there are workers right behind the chalets your view of the park - not so nice you stare into beams that are stretched around the chalets, it would have been nice to be able to go deep into the park look
It's good accommodation under normal circumstances, but we were disappointed because it wasn't wheelchair-friendly like it was supposed to be. Needless to say, it was very hard for my husband.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Zebra unit, although the unit was clean and tidy and we received a very friendly welcome. The neighbors' JoJo containers are right by the picnic and barbecue area and it makes a terrible noise. The neighbours' pool pump also "runs" all the time and sours the tranquility that one is looking for so much in Marloth. There were also builders in a dilapidated house next to the unit in the evening making noise all the time.
The first night we couldn't sleep in the unit I booked. My son slept in the owner's house. The first day there was work around the chalet and line stretched which made it difficult to accommodate my mother who has to use a wheelchair. My son carried her. The splash pool is a joke. One cannot call it a splash pool at all. It is so small two people will not be able to move decently in it at all. The 2nd day we were posted to our unit, space a little better. When we got to the unit late in the afternoon we had no bathroom towels. It was not given to us until the next morning.
It was fantastic, all the animals right in front of our dining table. No wifi even though it was indicated.
What more do people need if you want to get out of the city for a weekend in the woods. Our place was perfect, and everything you need is there. The air conditioner is a bonus. If you're looking for a place to lay your head after a day in the park but not pay an arm and a leg, Buffalo Chalets is perfect.

It was nice for us to be in nature. Next to the Kruger and 15 minutes away from the Crocodile Gate. To see 7 kudus 20 steps away from you or 20 zebras. A lovely camp fire is a blessing. To hear elephants or lions during the night and to get up in the morning and a bushbuck is on the grass in front of your door, could only be lekker.
To be able to give constructive criticism, I would just say that they should make a wooden partition or something between their places and the neighbours, because if you still sit like that drinking coffee in the morning and look for the goats, the place next door's workers are there who look at you and you see their laundry that spoils the forest atmosphere and I just had to stop drinking coffee and go in every morning.
It rained in from the patio and we had to scoop up the water and mop the floors.
Die aanwysings was duidelik en akkuraat, ons het die chalets dadelik gekry. Al die geriewe was daar, die chalet was baie netjies en skoon, dit is baie goed geleë naby die hoofpad en die rivier. Die diere wat deur die kamp gewandel het was awesome, ons het dit nooit verwag nie. Ons het elke dag gaan stap en die diere was oral van naby te sien. Dit was ons eerste besoek aan Marloth Park maar dit sal nie ons laaste besoek wees nie, vir seker.

I really got the good treatment. Joey went out of her way to help me seeing as I have a bit of trouble with my mobility after a recent big knee op. The live-in cleaner Ruth was also very friendly and helpful. I stayed in Vlakvark and the only thing I missed was an armchair inside or outside where I could sit and read. The wild bushpigs, bushbuck and zebras that are so tame and walk around between the houses and come and eat out of your hand was a wonderful experience for me. To sit on the stoep early morning with my coffee and all the animals that come to greet you was truly an experience.

Accommodation was suitable, since we just used it as a base from which to visit the game reserve.
Accommodation in Vlakvark is comfortable and meets all the basic needs. However, the 20 liter geyser is insufficient for two people, don't know how it will work for 4 or 5 people. However, the owner has given an indication of upgrading the geyser. If this is fixed, accommodation should be more comfortable, the size of the fridge and the air conditioner is definitely a strength!

We had a very nice weekend, it's clean and peaceful.
We enjoyed the stay. Every day there was a different "visitor" on our front porch. Kudus, bushbucks, warthogs and many bird species.

Everything was good, except for the builders next door and in our camp.
What a disappointment. On the website the place looks nice, but when we got there it was "bad". The bedding is old and the linen is torn. The bed cannot be slept on. My wife and I had to sleep on the sleeper couch for the whole 4 days, which also sleeps badly. Then the bathroom: the toilet doesn't flush, so every time you use it you have to take a pot full of water to flush it. The aircon doesn't work either. And then the gas stove in the kitchen: the pipe passes right here in front of you, over which you fall all the time and then there are no clamps where the pipe is attached. I have a 1 year old boy and what a problem it was with him about the gas pipe. That's why I won't recommend the place to anyone. Trust me you won't enjoy it.
We arrived there on Friday 19 February 2016 at 17:00 in a temperature of 44 degrees. Unpacked and I made a fire to grill meat. The air conditioning worked thankfully, but the roof fan did not. Friday night we didn't sleep badly. Saturday night we went to eat at the restaurant. On our return the power was out. The 10 people in the big chalet were terribly noisy and they drank and made noise throughout the night because they apparently couldn't sleep. We had a thriller of a night. This was the worst experience we have ever had.

Marloth Park is excellently located opposite the Kruger National Park. Met very friendly people there. Got a bit warm but Buffalo Chalets has the necessary equipment to make you comfortable on very hot days.

Beautiful setting. More comfy chairs are needed for sitting outside and upstairs shower needed a shower curtain or door.
We really enjoyed the weekend. It was already winter and I was very disappointed that there was only a light blanket on the bed and no extra blanket in the units. The lady mentioned the next day that she would bring it to us if we asked. I'm not sure if there might be an art to the shower that we didn't understand, because the shower water was hot for a very short period at a time and then you had to turn the tap off again for a while. By the third time, the water remained constantly warm.

House Rules
A breakage and key deposit of R500.00 must also be paid with/before last payment. Breakage deposits will be refunded +- 2 weeks after the day of departure (After a inventory check). The deposit will only be refunded on condition that the chalets are left in an acceptable condition, washing of dishes included, with no damage to the venue, cutlery, crockery, linen and furniture.
Please retrieve the keys at Securicon Security (In Olifant Str. 2639) if arriving after 15h30 .Keys are available on the premises, please arrange your arrival time.
Arrival time is between 14:00 and 20:00. Should you arrive after 20:00, an additional R100 will be charged per hour and is payable on arrival.
The chalets are serviced before guests arrive, but is not serviced on a daily basis. Cleaning service can be arranged for an additional cost. Please bring own swimming towels, your braai wood or charcoal. The braai area will be cleaned on a daily basis, free of charge.
We only accept EFT or cash payments on arrival.
All extra persons not included in your inquiry and confirmed in your booking will be charged extra.
Please note that we are in a residential area and we have a strict no noise policy. Marloth Park is not a party venue. Guests are requested to honour the tranquillity of the environment at all times. No parties, loud music or any music, noise are allowed on the premises. We respect the rights of our neighbours and animals.
Please obey the rules of the chalets and be aware that, should you continue to transgress them after having been duly warned, you may be evicted from the house without a refund of any payments.
No pets are permitted in Marloth Park.

The ground-floor open-plan apartment accommodates 2 adults and 3 children and consists of a queen-size bed and is fully equipped for self-catering, with a 2-plate gas stove, microwave, toaster, fridge, beverage-making facilities, crockery and cutlery for 5 guests. The shared bathroom comprises a shower, basin and a toilet. The second room is upstairs, closed with canvas and contains a Double and Single bed, with no bathroom and toilet facilities.

The second bedroom is upstairs and is furnished with a double bed and a sleeper couch, and has a bathroom that is fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. The room is further equipped with a pre-paid air-conditioner and ceiling fan, beverage-making facilities, and a bar fridge. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and includes cutlery, crockery, a 4-plate gas stove without an oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, beverage-making facilities, sleeper couch, and Ceiling fan.

The first room has use of a bathroom bath, shower, basin and a toilet. The second bedroom is upstairs and contains a sleeper couch and a double bed, bar fridge, and beverage-making facilities. This room has use of its own bathroom containing a shower, basin and a toilet. Both rooms have pre-paid aircon.
Zebra can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children and contains a double bed and a bunker bed. The bathroom contains a shower, basin and a toilet. The chalet has a small built-in kitchenette fully equipped for self-catering with a fridge, a 2-plate gas stove, microwave, toaster, cutlery, crockery and beverage making facilities and pre-paid aircon. Parking is about 25 meters from the Chalet.
Vlakvark can accommodate 2 adults and 3 children and consists of 2 rooms. The first room is downstairs and contains a queen bed. There is also a small built-in kitchenette, fully equipped for self-catering. The shared bathroom contains a shower, basin and a toilet. The second room is upstairs, closed with canvas and contains a double, single bed and pre-paid aircon.
There is no TV, radio or the internet and the air-conditioners are pre-paid. Each chalet has its own braai area and splash pool. The splash pool will only be filled up if there are no water restrictions in Marloth Park.
Marloth Park also offers the convenience of basic commodities such as 2 shopping centres, 2 hardware stores, a curio shop, 2 liquor stores, a large open deck bar and a variety of restaurants. There is also a swimming pool, jungle gym and playground, laundry, ice cream den, fuel station, 2 car wash bays, a purified water shop, a bakery and a butcher.
