This rustic cabin comprises 7 bedrooms and can sleep up to 26 people. There are 4 bedrooms furnished with a double bed and 3 dorm-style bedrooms fitted with bunks, sleeping 8, 6 and 4 people respectively. Each bedroom contains a heater for cold nights. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. There are also 2 guests toilets, off the living area.
The kitchen is fully equipped with 2 full-size fridge-freezers, an under-counter fridge, a gas stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, glassware, cutlery and crockery. The kitchen leads to a living area that also has a bar fridge and a deep freezer to ensure that your drinks are kept cold. The lounge area contains a large indoor braai fireplace. The living area opens to a lovely outdoor braai area with comfortable seating.
Guests can stroll along the private beach or enjoy an evening drink on the patio while watching flamingos fly over the salt pan. Guests can also visit the restaurants or pubs in the area to enjoy some local hospitality. Children will enjoy playing on the dunes, going to the harbour, racing along the mountain biking trail or animal viewing at the lion park.
Please note no speeding is allowed and there is a limit of 30 km per hour to preserve the wildlife and tranquility. Guests are welcome to bring along their pets by prior arrangement.

Good experience. Well equipped. For summer time I would recommend an aircon gets installed in the living room kitchen area, at least some fans. We were on a business break away and everybody enjoyed it. Rustic, but good value for money. Very close to the ocean, even though you do not have an ocean view. Thank you to the cleaning staff who came in regularly to clean.
Was an unforgettable weekend and service was excellent we got from the website to Buffalo Drift to the cleaner.
Very disappointed with the place. The photos on the website are very far from reality. Photos look like a very neat, idyllic place. Definitely not the money's worth. Poor lighting, especially on the porch. Room window does not close properly. You lie down at night and it seems as if the windows are open with the result that the bedding feels wet. Bathrooms in terrible condition. Toilet bowls can't even close properly. When you shower, the whole bathroom is wet. Kitchen can be equipped with a better stove and refrigerators especially because it can accommodate so many people. We also found a snake in one of the rooms. Website says it's rustic, but there is a difference between rustic and old! Please update photos on for website to what the place looks like now.
Perfect getaway spot where a large group can hang out together and not be in each other's space. Will go again for sure.
Great place to get away with friends or family. Right on the beach and close to restaurants and shops. Has a daily cleaning service included which makes the world of difference. Lots of fridge space too. Gets very cold at night in the winter time. Extra blankets & heaters will be needed! Some of the rooms had great heaters and others not so much. Bring an extra blanket. Overall, value for money would be better if towels, some bathroom amenities, extra blankets & better heaters were included.
Very comfortable stay and sleeps a large group of friends and you don't have to feel that the children will break something.
I will recommend Captains Cabin to any group of friends or a family for an excellent weekend. I stayed there with 11 friends for the weekend and it was unforgettable - the place and location is wonderful. We will definitely do it again soon.
Perfect place for many people. Two of the hot water cylinders were cold and we had to take a cold shower. Some of the things that would be in the house such as wood and cloths were not there. After asking for rags several times, we never got them. Place was not very clean either. Other than that, everything was good and it had been perfect for a family weekend.
