31 guests' feedbackWe had a very nice stay. We were visited by kudus and nyalas. The combing places are far from each other so you don't know about other people. It was great that there was no power. The children had to play with stones, bricks, sand and sticks, they also climbed a nice tree and enjoyed it now. My 6-year-old daughter was quite emotional when we had to pack up to drive back. She didn't want to come home. The toilet with a view. The shower under the stars. The paraffin donkey. All this was something the kids will always remember. One more thing. Willem was very friendly and went out of his way to make us feel at home on his farm. He is very concerned about his guests. The large corrugated iron roof at Kudoe camp was also a huge bonus, our kitchen and lounge area.
Lovely peaceful camp. True adventure. Top notch hospitality. Thank you.
What a wonderful experience! No power, but the camp and bathrooms are lit with solar lights. Although we were warned about snakes and heard there was a leopard on the farm, like any other bushveld farm where there are animals, there were no incidents and we felt safer than at our own home in Pretoria. The surroundings are beautiful and men could relax by the dam and water lines. We will go back for sure, with our children and grandchildren.
Might consider putting in a sink for dishes, and a sink in the shower. For the rest it was very nice.
Willem was very helpful and friendly. He makes you feel comfortable and at home. Peaceful surroundings with beautiful views. Walking trails lead to beautiful views with facilities. Lovely variety of trees, large rocks and babbling stream. It was a lovely relaxing long weekend.
Excellent with fun and cleanliness.
Back to the bush experience.
We were in the privileged position to camp for a week at Buffelskloof Boskamp, Koedo camp. If you are looking for a bush camp experience, with a real bush shower and a toilet with a view of the Waterberge and the village, Naboomspruit on the horizon, this is the place for you. Here on the mountain is peace and rest for your soul, and a view that makes you sigh pleasantly and relax. We had the opportunity to feed the kudus and nyalas and enjoy their presence every afternoon. You will hardly find a more helpful and generous host than Willem, the owner. He immediately jumped in and helped when some of our camping gear gave way and he went out of his way to ensure our time was unbeatable. His hospitality and humor contributed to an unforgettable experience and he carried us on his hands and spoiled us properly. The only downside was that we couldn't stay forever. Thank you very much, Willem!
Surrounded by woods, animals walking around you, a dirt road built for 4x4 caravans and adventure motorbikes and an owner who really cares about his guests this is one of the best we have done with the big bikes! Thank you very much Willem, we will come again.
We arrived on Friday and were escorted to our campsite. Willem arrived that evening to make sure everything was in order. This time we stopped at Kudue camp. This is a real bush camp with only water, toilet with a view, bush shower and canopy. There was enough wood for a nice campfire every night. It was the ideal opportunity to test our field equipment. Willem is also planning walking routes. We look forward to our next camp.
The weekend was wonderful! Could get away from the city and just relax again.
We had an incredibly nice experience at Buffelskloof. The Koedoekamp is particularly clean and tidy. Willem is a fantastic host, who makes you feel so welcome and at home!. We have already booked our next camp!
We had a lovely break at Buffelskloof. Because I had no signal most of the time, I could really disconnect and enjoy the surroundings. It is recommended to bring games or a book along to avoid getting bored. We had no power, so we had to drive into town (10 minutes away) to get ice in order to keep our food fresh. Our Labrador had the best time swimming in the dam. It gets very hot, so we had cold showers often during the day. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Willem and Josef are very friendly and will make sure you have everything you need.
The hospitality of Willem, the environment, the silence, the forest - we enjoyed it tremendously - this is for people who enjoy the forest and don't want to glamp. We will definitely visit the camp again and have such a nice visit and walk again and just find peace for our souls.
The camp was very nice, but only after arrival were we warned about snakes. So couldn't really explore the area as planned. The bathrooms were very dirty. We had to clean it ourselves. The bins overflowed.
Many, many, many thanks Willem - it was just what we needed. Beautiful campsite in a gorge with big rocks, lots of trees and lovely walking paths - what more could you want. Your hospitality, arrangements and care made us feel very welcome. The donkey is the best! I want one like that now too - we baked delicious bread in it after a hot shower! (The donkey is a wonderful thing). We will definitely come again!
We had a great camp. Seeing no one and hearing nothing for a few days is fantastic.
The natural beauty in the Buffelkloof Forest Camp is really something special. We were lucky to have the whole camp to ourselves for the weekend. Amenities are basic, water with a small bathroom with two flush toilets and two showers and a sink under the canopy, but that's how we prefer it. It felt like we were somewhere deep in the woods because you only hear the field sounds all the time while you are there. We really enjoyed the silence and felt safe the whole time. There is a nice pond to cool off in and we could also take our four dogs with us. The road in and out of the forest camp is definitely only suitable for a thoroughbred 4X4, especially if you are towing a heavy forest caravan. Would definitely recommend to any campers who like to spend time in nature.
As soon as the entrance gate closes behind you, you are in another world, leaving the daily worries behind. Willem makes you feel at home immediately (farmer's son). We stayed at kudu camp with basic facilities and found it very pleasant and adequate. Camping there with family is a winner because one can visit undisturbed because the campsite is booked as a whole. It was nice! Will go again.
If you want to camp "off the grid", Buffelskloof Boskamp is the place for you. Safe, peaceful and quiet. Friendly people and service. Get lost in the woods and experience nature.
My husband and I went camping with two of our friends. On arrival, Willem welcomed us kindly and took us to the campsite. We were pleasantly surprised - spacious, clean, spacious braai area. There was not a single paper or even a bone by the fire area (ideal if you have your dog there). We swam a few times in the pond (clean) and went jogging/walking, there are nice paths. Everything one needs, two identical bathrooms with a sink area. One of the highlights was driving to the viewpoint. Very nice views and ideal if you pack your cheese board and some sundowners. Our dog enjoyed it just as much.
We arrived at camp on Monday after driving in the rain. The rain stopped just long enough to set up camp. The site drained the rainwater well. The campsite was neat and clean and there was enough wood to fuel the donkey every night with enough hot water for a morning shower. Willem was not on the farm when we arrived, but had everything arranged. He welcomed us upon his arrival. We walked some of the walking paths and Willem recommended that we drive to the lookout point. The untouched nature, silence and tranquility was just what we needed. We will definitely go again.
What an incredible weekend! The owner came to visit and shared a little more about the area and his plans for eco-tourism! Definitely going to visit again, take more people with you! But make sure your vehicle is 4x4! Once you are at the bottom of the gorge, you have to come back up! No cell capture, unless you go mountain climbing! Can't wait to see what the sprouts look like after a good rain!
Nice motorcycle trip taken. Excellent people. Real bushveld camp, will see me and more motorbikes again. Thank you.
It was truly a wonderful experience - in the forest with wildlife around the camp. Really enjoyed the tranquility and walk.
Kudoekamp is private with a hot shower (you have to heat water yourself). May walk all over the farm. Game comes up to the camp to feed, game skewers are provided.
Just what the soul needs. It was fantastic. Pure forest. Nice to be "off the grid". Every day go for a walk, and in the evening have a good time around the fire. If anyone thinks they want to go glamping, then drag your forest wagon along. But if you want to camp and get some rest, I'll easily stay there for a week! It's beautiful and gives a renewed appreciation for nature. Willem is very friendly and provided a fantastic service.
We had a great time camping at Buffelskloof Wild. The campsite is close enough to Pretoria for a quick weekend getaway and we could take our dogs with us which was the best part. We had the whole camp to ourselves and could camp with our big family. We will definitely go back again.
This is a forest camp for people who are not bothered about electricity. Perfect if you don't want to camp among lots of people and you have your solar panel and battery to keep your fridges running. There is a sink for hot water as well as a place to wash your dishes. The bathroom includes a shower and sink and toilet in one room which is spacious. Everyone has to clean themselves after using the bathroom - which is not a problem. There was plenty of clean water. We took our dog with us and spent the whole day at the pond, swimming and barbecuing. Wood was provided for the donkey and for braai and Willem also came to give us a large crate of narcissus and strawberries. You won't be able to drive out of the ascent with a normal car, but the road is good and not a problem for a 4x4.
Pleasantly surprised by the tranquility and natural beauty at the Buffelskloof Boskamp! Tucked away in the gorge's native forest, we quickly forgot about everything else. The highlight was the donkey and hot shower in the neat and spacious ablution facilities. Willem and his family received us warmly and were excited for us to camp there - with good reason! Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the dam and full hiking trail. See you again for sure!
Willem and his family welcomed us with open arms and made us feel comfortable. True heart people who feel like good old friends. The premises are neat, private, clean and very well laid out. My wife was especially extremely impressed with the ablution facilities. Waldu (Willem's son) took us on a walking tour to better appreciate the beautiful view of the gorge's viewpoints, 10/10 for service!! Under 2 hours drive from Pretoria ensured that we would visit Buffelskloof constantly, it is the perfect getaway for couples and groups. Looking forward to visiting again, rest for the soul at Buffelskloof!! regards Louwrens and Leandri
