Beautiful unit, nice view from the 1st floor and you feel so close to nature. The wildlife we were able to see on site was a huge bonus and privilege for us. Units very well furnished, linen is of top quality. Happy to recommend them and it will be our home if we come to Dinokeng again.

We loved our stay at Chameleon Bush Lodge. The arrival process was well explained via WhatsApp before we got there. The response to any queries we had on arrival was swiftly dealt with, and the hosts are so helpful and make you feel as if you are their only guests! The chalets are very well equipped, with everything you need. Beds are very comfortable and the air conditioning was lovely on a hot day. The staff were all lovely and also very helpful. One of our party left her Apple watch behind in the chalet. It was reported to the staff, who immediately contacted us - and we were able to go back and get it. We were so grateful. The only negative was that we could not stay longer! We will plan better for next time, and stay for a few nights. You have a beautiful lodge, and we cannot wait to come again. Thank you, hosts, and the Chameleon staff.
It was our first time in Dinokeng. It had been incredible. The most beautiful place. So peaceful, very safe and tidy. It was a very hot weekend, so the air conditioning helped a lot. Such a nice atmosphere. Excellent place you guys have. Will definitely stay there again.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic. The unit was nice and clean, and the finishing touches were amazing. There are more than enough plates etc., and we were able to have a nice barbecue and visit. The pool was beautifully clean, and we sat in the pool and enjoyed watching wildlife come to drink at the water hole next to the pool. Ten giraffes came to visit.
It was amazing a pregnant lioness came by late in the evening on our first night.
We enjoyed every minute at Chameleon Bush Lodge. Some maintenance should be done in the bathroom - clean the shower head.
Wow, what an amazing place. The rooms are spacious, the pools have views of wildlife. The rooms are serviced daily, and all the staff are very accommodating and friendly. We saw an elephant, rooibok, kudu, zebra, monkeys, wildebeest, vlakvark, squirrels, lions, and an amazing array of birds.

We really enjoyed the stay in number 5. The room is spacious and tidy. The unit is up to the wire and the giraffes came to greet us early Saturday morning. The stoepie with the built-in braai is a winner. We enjoyed the silence and animals. The game drive at the lodge was unforgettable. We can recommend Chameleon Bush Lodge to everyone. Only three things you might pay attention to, and that's a colander, a toaster and the fridge that leaks and doesn't freeze properly. For our short stay it wasn't a crisis, but for someone packing perishables for a week, a broken fridge can be a problem.

The unit we stayed in was immaculately clean with a large bathroom and kitchen with all the necessities for a self-catering break. The unit has an outside shower but it was still too cold for us to use it. There was a small single bed put in the unit for us for our 3 year old which makes things so convenient. There is a very neat built-in braai as well as a small boma area where you can make a fire and sit. I will come again to Chameleon Bush Lodge for a weekend break.
Our visit at Chameleon Lodge was the tranquility and peace of itself. The neighboring lodge accommodated us on a game drive and it was phenomenal. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the place is tidy and the outdoor shower a welcome addition to any accommodation. Unit 5 is special to me because it is more secluded and perfect for people looking for more privacy.
I had the pleasure of visiting Chameleon again with my 3 little boys. It was simply amazing — they got to see zebra, giraffe and impala from the front of our chalet. It is always my favourite place to stay!

My husband and I loved our stay. The unit is so clean and very comfortable. It has everything you need for a wonderful time away. The doors and windows open up to the view outside so you really feel like you are in the bush. The watering hole in front of the veranda gives a full view of animal and bird life. It is very safe and secure but you don't feel like you are locked up. I loved the outdoor shower. Carlien keeps you updated on the loadshedding and unexpected outages so you can plan your day. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We will definitely be back.
We arrived very unprepared. Your helpful service quickly directed us to a nearby basic store. My 12-year-old almost-teenage son had a great time barbecuing us and building a big bonfire. It was a pleasant visit and the guests around us were all friendly and considerate. It is conveniently close to Camp Discovery where our daughter was on a nebal camp with the school. Driving back and forth was quick and easy. The guards at the gates from the Dinokeng reserve were friendly and helpful. We slept comfortably and had a great time and explored a few places around us and also saw some wildlife. Had delicious pizza at a neighboring lodge that was also recommended by you. We will definitely use your accommodation again. Thank you very much for the privilege of being able to visit you.
The unit is very neat and clean with a view over the forest. The kitchen is excellently equipped and self-loading was not much of a problem. Can definitely highly recommend and would love to stay there again.

The unit was clean and well equipped with a beautiful view. Staff were friendly. Smaller touches provided such as a bag of firewood and firelighters were a pleasant surprise.
The setting is superbly positioned so you can see lots of wildlife coming to the closeby waterhole. The chalets are superbly furnished with quality pots, pans crockery, etc. Everything is higher-end, no cheap skate stuff. Five multi-plug points in the bedroom alone and similar in the kitchen, way more than I've seen before and extremely welcome. Two showers outside was really cool.

Surroundings are beautiful and well-kept. Excellent location inside Dinokeng. Clean and comfortable unit. Only negative is that the shower heads could do with an upgrade. The outside one sprays water over the side of the shower and the inside one has a very small width where the water comes out.
Such a great place! Easily accessible and central. The lions and cheetahs at the lodge were such an unexpected treat.

We are often in Dinokeng and this was our first visit to Chameleon. The place is very neat, clean and the gardens are wonderful with lots of birds - a place where you just want to stay - definitely our new favourite. Owners were friendly and you immediately feel at home. Amenities are better than the photos and we will definitely go back again!

What a great vacation! We spent 4 nights at Chameleon Bush Lodge and it was absolutely worth every penny! We slept in Chalet 10 (blue room). One can experience nature in the outdoor shower and the bathroom inside was well equipped and tidy. The big bed was neat, clean and extremely comfortable! We loved the large TV in the room and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could need. We made good use of the built-in braai on the stoep, and the view from the stoep is beautiful! We saw giraffes, blue wildebeest, impalas and kudus walking past almost right in front of our porch. The Lodge is very secure, surrounded by electric fences. The owners were very warm and friendly and the check-in and check-out process was very quick and went smoothly. We were sorry to go home and will definitely return!

The chalets are beautiful and offer al the amenities one could need, including a very well-equipped kitchen. There was both a built-in and a free-standing braai, with ample firewood and firelighters supplied. On arrival the Friday afternoon, we witnessed impala and wildebeest nearby. The Saturday night, six giraffes chose the spot in front of the chalets to rest for a while, a truly wonderful sight.
We had the pleasure of meeting the owners - super, humble and sincere family. The units we had were perfect (8,9,10) in size, fully equipped and with enough space from each other to enjoy complete privacy but close enough to one another to share a wonderful weekend. We all agreed that 2 nights is too short and plan a 3-night trip soon.

This was our second visit and certainly not the last, really value for money. The enclosure makes you feel safe, the arrival goes smoothly, key in the door and if there is a mistake, it is addressed immediately.
Friendly host and hostess, immediately kept us informed of an Eskom interruption and reporting. Self comes to make sure everyone is okay and apologizes for any inconvenience. Will be back.

It really was a welcome get away weekend near Pretoria. There was no need to drive far to escape the "rat race" a bit.
This group took over the whole garden and pool area, drinking a lot and making noise. They made noise until late in the evening, and didn't leave until 1:30 on Sunday. So what should have been a very quiet, peaceful weekend for me turned out to be a very bad experience.
Close to Johannesburg and nice and relaxing.
Loved the chalet, and in a nice location among indigenous trees and near a waterhole. Everything was set up and ready for us. It was very secluded and safe, and suitable even for Covid-19 restrictions. Loved being in Dinokeng Park.

We just loved the privacy, the secure lodge and proximity to both Johannesburg and Pretoria. The baby ran around in a safe outdoor environment with animals just over the fence! The Game Drives were excellent. The accommodation both clean, modern and well equipped with the most comfortable king sized beds. Definitely going to book again!

Unbelievably beautiful chalets, fully equipped, lots of plugs for mobile phones and all other modern equipment. Our chalet overlooked a watering hole where an ostrich family. Mother, father and four cubs, roe deer, kudus and a solitary blue wildebeest came to visit us. The owners Carlien and Chris are beautiful, friendly people who make you feel right at home. We will visit again soon.
We had a great stay with our toddler. The view of the dam is wonderful, because the animals pass by if you can't drive yourself. Cleaning and repair services on site and the staff are very efficient and friendly. Location close to the gate means it's quick home. We want to visit again!

Very good service and Carlien does her best to have everything right. The units are very neat and have everything you need. Only two concerns: It is close to the main road and you can hear the cars on the road at night if you want to relax on the veranda. The pool is fenced, but there are gaps where a small child can slip through.

Just recommend that the towels should be changed more often. We put the towels on the floor on the second day and the housekeeping just hung them back up. We stayed for 4 nights and used the same towel every night.
The only problem was that we were not informed about the routes, on the farm itself, the rest of the park's information was very helpful.

For the past three years I have developed a great love for Dinokeng and have stayed with various accommodation providers anyway. I have to confess, of all the places I have stayed in Dinokeng, this place stands out for me. The location (just left of the main tar road), wildlife that comes up to the unit's electrified fences in the evenings and of course the lion that roared in the distance. The unit is spacious for everything in it. Very neat. This place will see me again soon!

Was very impressed with condition of grounds and the unit. It more than met our expectations. Locality also very good.
It is more for Dinokeng than for Chameleon. It would be nice if it was informed just ahead of time that Dinokeng is not like Kruger National Park and that self-drive routes cost money. That such information may be at Tau gates etc. be issued. Together with information from lodges and all the restaurants. It was our first time in Dinokeng and we didn't know how things work there. Self-driving routes are also a bit overgrown with branches that scratch the cars. Or if a group is established that if you buy a self-driving route permit then you are put on a group and everyone can report sightings on the group.
Our stay was of high quality, very tidy and clean. We had to come back earlier because of health reasons and was sorry that we could not enjoy our full time there.
Via mobile at the gate contact with the owner, access code received, later confirmed by SMS. Owner not seen or spoken to again after that!! When I went to the reception to ask what to do, no one was there. Bungalow is luxury, kitchen and barbecue with everything provided. Nice bathroom and simple outdoor shower. Very good big bed. Excellent aircon and fan. Shower faucets are troublesome, because there is no normal faucet, but one copper shut-off faucet that is used as a faucet. Also at the kitchen counter such remarkable faucets. It was striking that the towels were not replaced during cleaning! During the second cleaning, the worker also did not have towels with her. When we asked for clean towels, they were taken from another bungalow. If we had not been at home we would not have received clean towels again. It does not fit a 4 star lodge!

We were about 16 people who celebrated my wife's birthday there. I think this is such an awesome place and Chris and his wife's service is excellent and went out of their way for us. Would go there anytime just with family. Dinokeng is hidden paradise just 45km outside Pretoria. One does not have to drive all the way to Kruger National Park to see the beauty of the forest and see wildlife. Elephants came to visit us late on Friday afternoon at the fence of where we were staying (awesome). It made my wife's 40th. The units are very luxurious can almost give them 6 stars. Many thanks again to Uncle Chris and his wife for the great service and beautiful place in the forest.
We have been very disappointed by accommodation that does not compare to what we have seen on websites. Chameleon Bush Lodge exceeded all our expectations: superb facilities with exquisite furnishings and decor and unsurpassed service.

To experience the Bushveld without having to travel hundreds of kilometers was a bonus. For a peaceful Bushveld experience in beautiful 5 star chalets, Chameleon Bush Lodge is definitely a good choice. The area of Dinokeng is beautiful, with lots of animals and birds. Definitely a nice place to rest and just switch off from the city's hustle and bustle. Will definitely go again.
The unit is very neat and clean, the hedged off area is very well maintained. The hosts were really nice and they treated us to a game drive.
I wanted to treat my wife to a weekend getaway for her birthday. We used unit no 3 as a base from which we could see the Dinokeng Reserve. The quality of the unit is top notch. It's incredibly clean, very well located and has a lot of details that you wouldn't expect for the price. The water tower units are small but big enough for two (larger units are available). We had a very relaxing weekend and had a chat with the owner, Carlien, on Sunday morning before we left. She is clearly passionate about the facilities and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely go again and can recommend it for sure.
Clean and tidy. There is only one problem, the hot water system in bathrooms does not work so well.
Accommodation is something special. Beautiful, attention to detail, convenient, comfortable. Sit on the porch, barbecue and watch wildlife along the wire. Definitely worth a visit.

Modern accommodation only two stone's throw from Pretoria. Clean and tidy accommodation and friendly hosts. It was nice to just be able to relax after a day in the forest. Will go again and again.
Chris and his wife are very friendly and hospitable. Can't wait for the pool to be finished. Definitely going to visit it again. Very happy, would have been nice if a unit could accommodate maybe more than 2 people.
We will definitely follow up the quick visit with a long weekend visit with friends. It is excellent value for money!
No complaints. Will just recommend a visitor's book. I will also suggest that guests are informed about the cleaning staff and the time. Uncomfortable situations can then be avoided. Also inform us city folk how to operate the shower.

The unit had two showers, one indoors and one outside, unfortunately both the showers were unusable as the geyser was not functioning properly.

The lodge offers an arrangement of 5 chalets. Each bachelor style chalet features a unique color scheme, modern appliances, and well-appointed en-suite bathrooms. They are furnished with twin extra-length single beds, fitted in fine bed linen; fully-equipped kitchens with fridge-freezers, gas stoves and ovens, microwaves, cutlery, and crockery for 4 people; and TVs with DStv "Access" packages. All chalets have air conditioning. The en-suite bathrooms have showers, baths, basins, and toilets. The 2 Family Units each comprises 2 spacious, en-suite bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen/dining area; patio with built-in braai, plus a fire pit in the garden. Each bedroom has sliding door opening onto the garden plus its own outdoor shower,
Guests will enjoy lovely views from throughout each chalet. The bathrooms (through one-way glazing), breakfast nooks, and patios all allow for views of the surrounding area. Step out onto the patio and make use of the nice built-in braais, or recline on the custom-made patio furniture. In the garden is a Lapa with concrete bench seating, a central fire pit, and concrete table-top under a roof.
For added peace of mind, the property is secured within electric fencing, a remote gate, and units include electronic laptop safes. Apart from the big variety of birds, the property is also home to a colony of springhare, who are very active in the early evenings. Guests can go on guided bush walks and game drives, provided by Mongena Game Lodge. Or book at any of the entrance gates for the self-drive.
