Was a very friendly receptionist, rooms very spacious and tidy. The restaurant makes the most delicious food.
Perfect stop halfway from George to JHB, friendly staff, great restaurant with amazing food. We felt very welcomed on arrival.
Value for money. Staff friendly.
Neat, clean and the best Karoo meal!
The room was very good value for money, breakfast was of good quality, and the staff were very friendly.
Very pleasant stay, friendly service and staff.
We were received very kindly. Room spacious and tidy. Great relaxing by the pool.
I had a wonderful stay.
The dinner in the dining hall was delicious!
Neat, clean and comfortable accommodation. Rooms are spacious. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant is on premises and the spacious lawn in front of the restaurant makes it easy with children. Service is prompt and friendly. Food was nice.
Very nice. Neat and good facilities after a long day on the road.
It was a really pleasant place to stay. The service was great, the rooms were great, the restaurant had the best food with reasonable prices. Will stay there again for sure.
Neat, comfortable facilities and restaurant excellent service and food!
We were received very well, room was clean and tidy. Location is very good. The restaurant staff were very friendly. What about wine glasses in the room?
Nice big and neat rooms. Good restaurant.
Always a pleasure stopping off there. I've used Merino Inn as my sleepover midway from JHB and Durban when travelling to CTN or St Francis. Food in the restaurant is always tops.
Nice location for overnight purpose, close to N1. Hosts were friendly and helpful.
What a gem. Neat, clean, new bedding and rooms and bathrooms invite you in properly. Our caravan was safely unhooked at reception for the night. The restaurant served delicious food, and we had to struggle to get everything. Delicious Karoo meat and side dishes. Padstal just behind the resort already had delicious coffee and sandwiches available for us at 07:00 when we wanted to drive. Will stay here again for sure.
Room is functional. We had a good dinner. Good service as well. Friendly staff. Manager very accommodating.
Our stay was great, it's right off the N1. The receptionists were lovely and the place was very peaceful. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but we popped over to the KFC and there was a padstel right next to it, so we went there instead. The food was great, and we loved the vibe of the place.
Pleasant, luxurious accommodation.
Very nice to spend the night here.
It was conveniently situated adjacent to the route being travelled, so it was quick and easy access.
Affordable and clean one stop place to stay and eat.
Nice stay and friendly reception on arrival.
Yes, wonderfully rested after a long day on the road. Beds and room facilities were very comfortable. However, breakfast was not up to standard for the price.
Arrived quite late and still received professionally. However, there were many open units and then 8 of us were housed in one row next to each other. The result is that one family started showering and making noise at 03:45 and a few of us also had to cry because of the showers and pipes making noise.
The only problem was spiders and cobwebs in one room. A spider bit my son, and he was very sick and had a hole in his leg. Maybe dust the rooms a little more often. Other than that, everything was nice.
Comfortable. Value for money.
Thank you, clean and tidy.
I enjoyed my stay it is convenient place colser to N1 there's food facilities the place itself is well established.
Very ideal for trips between Cape Town and Gauteng.
Place was neat and clean and very comfortable. Food was delicious and people working there were very professional, helpful and friendly.
As usual, a great stopover.
Traveling from Gauteng to Cape Town, Chargo Merino Inn is perfectly located to take a break before continuing onward the next day. The staff are friendly and facilities are well kept. The swimming pool is a great way to cool down and keep the kids busy. The Chargo Deli has great coffee and you can stock up on food and curios.
We had a wonderful stay.
Staff is friendly, room was clean and tidy. Value for money. Dinner was very nice! Atmosphere was amazing.
Delicious food.
It is very well located, just around the corner from the gas station and a stone's throw from the N1. Friendly people, nice lawn for children and animals and a delicious restaurant.
This is our regular stopover that offers everything affordable for travelers. Met several guests at the restaurant who also testified that they prefer this destination to sleep over.

Calm atmosphere. Friendly service. Rooms are well equipped and you can park your vehicle at your room. Very convenient. The restaurant's food is delicious. We and our dog kids really enjoyed it. Will definitely stay again.
Overlapping stops on the way to Cape and back to Nelspruit.
Everything was more than expected. Just some old things could be updated like the cushions on the cane chairs in the bedroom. Sad to find there was no patio for relaxing privately.
Clean, tidy, spacious bedrooms with beautiful views over the Karoo plains. Safe parking, friendly staff and swimming pool in which to cool off after a long day on the road. Will stay there again for sure.
Reception was warm and prompt. Our rooms, clean and comfortable. Direct access from our rooms to the grass, was lovely, especially with 2 children (1 and 4 years old) as well as an elderly person of 83. Walking distance to restaurant, play area and the sparkling pool. comfortable. Meals at restaurant were delicious and good value for money.
Slept well. Very clean and tidy!
Had a great stay. Very clean and good service. Dinner was excellent.
The photos were true and the place was clean, and the staff was friendly. The food was very good. A very safe place for children. It was like traveling back in time, a bit outdated furnishings, but the unit was clean. Will stay there again.
Chargo Merino Inn is always for us the no-nonsense, one-night stay between the Cape and Gauteng.
Had a great stay, nice and peaceful overnight on the way to Hartenbos.
Excellent location for overnight guests from or to the Cape.
Our annual stop on the way back to Gauteng. Always lovely to stop here with clean and tidy rooms. New coffee shop is a big plus and one we will use again in the future. Effortless check-in and check-out system.
It's a good overnight stop from Jhb to the Cape, food was good and facilities good. Pool was a bonus in the heat. We had a nice stay.
Peaceful and quiet. Ideal for an overnight stopover if you are traveling between the Eastern/Western Cape and Gauteng. Service excellent. Delicious food and drinks at restaurant. The Padstal shop sells delicious meat, biltong and more.
Great stay. Very clean and tidy.
We often stop at Chargo when we travel to the Eastern Cape. The dinner was delicious.
Yes, good halfoad stop and go.
Always nice and fair.
Was good. It's a great overnight place when travelling far.
For overnight stay purposes, Merino Inn offers everything needed for weary travelers. And their food is delicious!
Although we arrived after 8pm, Chargo Merino Inn was exactly what we needed.
Old school charm, friendly front desk, great value for money and spotlessly clean.
Accommodation was as always ready and clean on arrival. Lovely and peaceful for a good rest before the second stage of the long road. Food at restaurant, as always, tasty. Unfortunately this time disappointing that several options on the menu were not available. For me, for example, Boerekos with vegetables and leg of lamb does not work well with chips, or lamb chops and chips do not work well together. Their delicious "mash" or "potato wedges" were not available. Well, maybe next time.
TV remote control was broken/out of batteries. Furthermore, it was quite sufficient for our needs.
I stay there often and hope to have the block I've booked in future. Otherwise always a lovely stay-over.
My TV remote didn't work after reporting it to reception and following up nothing was done to rectify the problem.
I have been using them for years but will say there are better options.
Convinient and friendly.
No rest due to van bikers meeting with loud music until morning hours. Reception did upgrade room further away from them, but still it was a serious obstacle. Was very happy with previous stays, but unfortunately not this time. Feel that someone could have informed us of the meeting, because then we would rather spend the night somewhere else. We are traveling back to Gauteng from Mossel Bay and would like a good night's rest. Most food on the menu was sold out to bikers. We feel they got priority in everything. Apart from the loud music, our mattress in room F5 was not comfortable at all. A little disappointed in the time's stay.
Apart from the above, the rest had been good.
What a wonderful and peaceful place. Perfect for an overnight stay on the way to the Cape. The children thoroughly enjoyed the lawn and play area. The restaurant's food was tasty! Will definitely stay here again.
Our group consisted of two families with children from small to teenage and a dog. Had a great time outside under the trees, dog with us and children swam. Restaurant right next to you too. Will definitely stay here again in the future.
We went home so nice after a day's driving with two young children. Nice large lawns with play area for the children as well as swimming pool and restaurant. Neat and clean and friendly staff. We had a great time and relaxed. Would definitely recommend especially for families with little ones. After a long day of driving it was just what we needed!
Have a great time! Will stay there again for sure!
It would be nice if they said what the room looks like, for example. that it has its own porch and so does the layout of the resort with the rooms, so you know exactly which unit you are booking in.
The power plugs in the room and the geyser didn't work, but I suppose that might have been because the rainstorm We were in C11.
Good service and friendly staff.
We had a great time at Chargo Merino Inn. My little girl was able to swim after a long and hot day on the road. We enjoyed something to drink at the restaurant and ate delicious lamb's tails while looking out over the green lawn while the children played. There was load shedding for 4 hours which didn't affect us because there was a generator. We will definitely use Chargo Merino Inn again.
For sure my overnight choice for the future. Staff also friendly and professional. Very happy.
Convenient and sky rail, as well as bonus is that provision is made for the power outages.
Chargo Merino Inn is neat and an 'all in one' option. Rooms are spacious, neat and clean. Restaurant on site offers good choice of foods and food is flavorful. Passage is also available to the paddock with a variety of paddock items i. e a coffee or toy.
Nice place to stay especially if you are traveling with dogs, lovely lawn and plenty of room to walk and a stone's throw from N1.
Nice and safe play area on the large lawn for the children and dogs, while the parents can sit at the restaurant. Mutton chops tender and tasty. Great pool for both children and adults.
Great place to use as a pit stop along your journey.
Perfect for an overnight stop and place to sleep after a long day's driving. Having a restaurant on site helped a lot to not have to drive and look for a place to eat.
Very clean and tidy accommodation. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This will definitely become an annual institution for us.
I was very pleasantly surprised. The place is fantastic and the food top notch. I will never sleep over in another place again.
Very nice clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Very peaceful and relaxing after a long day on the road.
We were kindly received and checked in quickly. The rooms were clean and fresh, and the beds were nice and warm with all the blankets provided. We will definitely stay there again.
Got more than we expected. Did e.g. didn't know the room had a fridge and coffee and tea making facilities. Not shown in photos nor mentioned. Also had a great meal at the hotel's restaurant. Can recommend it.
Lovely rooms. Friendly service. Fantastic restaurant.
Accommodation was everything we wanted. Clean, comfortable, warm and cosy. Restaurant was a disappointment though, we sat for a long time waiting to be helped. Afterwards got up myself and got menus. Still no one helped us. We then went to eat at Plattelander in town. It was delicious.
Lovely overnight stay with no inconvenience due to load shedding, which was applicable, and enjoyed very good food for dinner and breakfast.
See stars.
Quiet, small town atmosphere.
Everything advertised on website was there.
Quiet, friendly and clean accommodation and overnight accommodation. Excellent service and top shelf mutton curry.
Staff were friendly. Accommodation was comfortable and clean. Good beds. I thought that it might be noisy because it is located so close to the N1, but there was no disturbance. Suggestion: The shower head is of the modern type that sprays the water from above, perhaps you could consider providing a shower cap for ladies who do not let their hair wail wet in the shower. Also to maybe turn on the small fridge an hour or 2 before customers arrive.

Friendly staff. Nice lawn for small children to play.
Safe, quiet and tidy. Very hospitable.
Excellent service. Friendly and their food is delicious.
Neat place and nice environment around rooms.
The bathroom was a bit cramped. The room has everything you need. I liked the location of the place. KFC is nearby and within walking distance. The restuarant of Marino Inn's food was cheap and really top notch. Very good value for money. Atmosphere very nice and I liked the wild animals. It's also pet friendly. Also nice to stretch your legs in their gardens and there is also a swimming pool for the children with a playground.
Always satisfied with the Merino Inn.
We have stayed at Chargo Merino several times and each time it has been a very good experience.
The reception was well organised, friendly and helpful. They helped us right away. The rooms were spacious, clean and tidy, and the facilities on site made our stay that much more relaxed.
Very comfortable and tidy accommodation. Duidelik restaurant's coast is delicious. Will definitely stay there again.
We will absolutely use you again on our next holiday!
The Chargo Merino Inn is a good place to stay. The rooms are neat and well equipped. The restaurant is affordable but don't expect anything too fancy. Can definitely recommend.
In addition to the comfortable sleeping facilities, the restaurant's service was excellent and the food fantastic.
Room as always clean and ready on arrival. Fast service from staff who are always very friendly and helpful. Nice comfortable relaxation and rest halfway between Gauteng and Eastern or Western Cape. Delicious meals at the restaurant for everyone's taste.
If a place says there's WiFi, then there must be WiFi, you shouldn't pay extra R75 for 759mb! I will never book the place again ever!
Quiet place to stay when traveling between Gauteng and the Cape. Restaurant serves the most delicious food.
The inn was very clean and the location was just off the motor way which was great. The check in process was easy. The room had air con which was great as it was very hot when we arrived that day. The only down side was that next to our room, the occupants were having a braai outside their rooms in the common area and were disruptive into the night. I guess there was not much the inn could do as it can't control whom they check in.
Good value for money and tidy.
Good overnight stop on the way to the Cape. Friendly reception.
Basic accommodation with everything you need. Restaurant service is poor.
Had no hot water but sorted out within half an hour.
Food at Merino Inn is excellent.
As a young boy I always spent the night at the original Merino with my parents, now almost 40 years later it is a privilege to still spend the night there. Meals out of this world, especially the curry.
Beautiful place but needs a manager as the staff (waiters) are struggling to keep their heads above water. The place was full and guests are tired and you wait a long time to be served. 15 to 20 minutes for a menu, hour before you get your order which is miles from the original "medium to rare" vs. Rock-hard baked steak like my car's tires. Poor waiters were attacked from various quarters about service.
Food was very tasty and the room was nice and clean. Would have liked a small fridge in the room.
Great that they allow dogs. A linking road to a KFC and good food at the restaurant. Quick and easy check in. Clean and spacious rooms. Good half way stop between Mossel Bay and Johannesburg. Very easy to access from highway. Only negative is it could be very noisy as your neighbours can come and go at all hours of the night. Also noise from highway.
Can suggest that sheds should be built. Toilet door must be closed for someone to have space for legs. Bathroom very nice but very small. Workers just walked into the room to check if the TV was working while we were in the room without knocking or asking if they could come in.
Please work on the food. Vegetables were not tasty. Had to send food back that wasn't cooked. Rooms were ready for overnight stay. Thank you that dogs could be together. Wonderful swimming pool and large lawn for the children. We will spend the night again.
I would recommend that there is a mini fridge in every room. You drive far and want to keep something cold overnight. We stayed in Pillow Place, Gariep Inn, Kroonstad Travel Inn and 11 nights in the Kruger Wildlife Park and had a mini fridge everywhere. Think it will be an asset. Furthermore, we slept wonderfully.
A good place to stay, clean. Really close to the N1 highway. I just thought there would be visible security at the front gate to make us feel safer.
The wind was blowing and it was cold, would have liked to sit outside in the garden. Noticed there is no security fence or gate at the entrance. So did not feel safe sleeping with open windows. We prefer not to turn on the air cooling.
No feedback. We enjoyed the stay.
It was a welcome experience in the Karoo. The rooms are wonderfully cooled. Pool is a plus. The restaurant's food is of high quality.
Rooms were clean and tidy.
Chargo Merino Inn is a beautiful and comfortable place to stay and child friendly with the open lawns that are there with a play park. There is also a nice big swimming pool for when you want to cool off and relax after a long day on the road. Bar and restaurant has a nice atmosphere and provides everything one needs. The owners are very friendly and service is great. We would recommend the place to anyone.
We come year after year. Never been disappointed.
What a lovely experience. Very friendly staff, clean rooms, a pool for the kids to swim and the best tasting lamb dish we've had in ages. All the food was divine.
Lovely peaceful atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly and chatty.
See you next year.
Good beds and beautiful rooms.
Comfortable for a stop over.
Perfect stay destination for the whole family.
We have stayed here a few times. Children have fun swimming and playing around. The upgrade of the rooms is nice and comfortable. Thanks, we'll be back!
Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed. Rooms were neat with everything you need for an overnight stay. Food in the restaurant is tasty.
Unpretentious value for money, service was efficient and friendly - would stay there again.
Friendly. Good service.
Neat place to stay for long journeys.
We really enjoyed the stay and will definitely stay there again.
Clean room & bathroom with lovely hot shower. Conveniently located and well organized.
Recommends.
Great food and reasonable prices, rooms are clean.
Reception was friendly and rooms clean and tidy.
We really enjoyed the time we were there. The food we ordered was really very tasty and also the whole environment where we could hang out was cozy.
Neat and comfortable for an overnight stay.
We have stayed here several times and each time we have had a very good experience.

Very nice place. Neat and clean and comfortable. Value for money.
Very nice overnight place on the way to Cape Town.
Perfect for a sleepover!
See stars.
Excellent for the kids with good food.
Wow, was very surprised with the overnight stay. Neat, comfortable and the beds sleep like a dream. Nice relaxation by a swimming pool with dining facilities on the premises! One recommendation might just be a microwave oven in the rooms if you want to heat a drink.
Neat rooms and friendly service. Restaurant service was slow.
We rested well for our way to J-Bay in the Eastern Cape and had a good breakfast. Thank you Merino Inn!
Dog friendly and very comfortable.
Chargo Merino Inn pleasantly surprised us. Comfortable and clean room and I felt safe. Friendly staff and there is a cook who serves the most delicious food for very reasonable prices. We would definitely recommend the facility especially for those looking for a place to stay on the long road.
Clean and tidy. Recently redone. Spacious rooms. Very good air conditioning. Comfortable beds. Spacious bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Well organized. You park right in front of the room door, so you don't have to pack up the whole car for an overnight trip. Excellent value for money. 24 hour reception. Basic.
Would advise that there are rooms that have the option of having a fridge and microwave in them, especially if you are there with small children.
Very friendly at reception, and was able to book in and out quickly and efficiently. The accommodation was comfortable and clean. Nice beds, the food at the restaurant was very nice. We had dinner and breakfast the next morning. Very good overnight option.
Nice peaceful atmosphere and delicious food.
Excellent halfway location between JHB and Cape Town, especially if traveling with young children.
Room was clean and well appointed. Staff helpful and friendly. Location is ideal. Prices in the restaurant are reasonable and the large veranda outside is the perfect place to relax.
Very neat and comfortable accommodation. We will definitely make this our overnight destination in the future. Delicious meal at restaurant.
Enjoyed our stay there.
It was unfortunate to hear that the waiters do not get their tip if it is included with a card payment. This is extremely unfair. I went to get cash to compensate the waiters.
The reception was very friendly and helpful, the C-Blok room was comfortable, clean and well equipped. Dinner and breakfast were very tasty and the waiters were very friendly and service was quick. The 2 gemsboks and some springboks were a good asset to bring a little closer to nature. However, the hair dryer didn't work and the TV control's battery was a bit flat which made channel changes difficult.
Nice big room, clean and pleasant people at restaurant and reception.
Arrived and received clean rooms. TV with enough channels. WiFi can be problem. Open spaces and a nice place to sit and hang out at the Merino. Up early to drive, no hot water.
We rested wonderfully and the children could also go for a walk and enjoy the outdoors. We slept very well and felt safe. The staff were fantastic. Chargo Merino Inn is a safe, tidy and family-friendly home.
Food fantastic. Service was a bit slow and our room had no hot water. But otherwise our place was clean and tidy.
Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Beatifull gardens, restaurant and pool area. Loads of kids and dog allowed.
Great sleepover place with lots for the kids to do.
Charge Merino Inn is a good place to stay, good service, friendly and well organised, just feels a bit unsafe so close to the main road without any major security measures that we could see.
Good overnight stop on the long road.
We slept well but the boiler did not work. On the 27th there was no hot water for showering by 20:00. Even the morning we left early the water was still cold.
Suitable place to stay before you hit the long road again.
Very convenient for an overnight stay.
I have lived in other blocks before. It was old and the beds were weak. In Blok C everything is beautiful and of good quality and it is worth the few extra rand.
Was a little surprised when there wasn't a bottle of water in the fridge.
A bit noisy with the "truck stop" next door especially the C-Block and would have liked to see a microwave in the unit but stay was pleasant. Kid and dog friendly that will appeal to many people.
Cups were all chipped. Bathroom mat was dirty, place appeared neglected. Expected better. Service in restaurant was very amateurish.
1. No WiFi in room (B10) - only at the reception office and in the dining hall. 2. Vegetables (green beans) at dinner were cold. 3. Room door has large gap in frame. Flapping all the time with the slightest wind. Had to fold paper up and push between door and frame to get it quiet. 4. Was able to have the afternoon (26th) beer I ordered placed on the room's tab. Accepted that dinner could therefore also be placed on the room's tab, but was told after dinner that dinner had to be paid immediately. Then had to go back to the room to get a map (while it was raining heavily). This arrangement must be disclosed to guests in advance. 5. At breakfast (27th) at 07:30 filter coffee was not available. Asked twice and only then lady came to make. She dropped the ground coffee on the ground and then got another pack and poured it into filter paper (didn't measure, but just poured it out of the pack). Was undrinkably strong. Spilled coffee on the floor was also not swept up or cleaned. 6. Upon handing in the room key and remotes at reception, I asked for the previous afternoon's tab of my beer to pay for it. There had been nothing. So I "found" a beer on the house!
We had no hot water. The shower drain in the room had a bad smell in the evening, so had to sleep with the windows open. Couldn't rest in afternoon after our long journey as they were pruning trees.
The new lorry parking lot at the new KFC causes lorries to come in and out of there throughout the night and it is right next to the hotel. Makes a lot of noise and makes it difficult to sleep well.
Convenient location, but the place could do with attention to detail. Hot beer in restaurant, shower head falling apart and attached with cable ties makes it difficult to shower. Everything was done as cheaply as possible and it is noticeable.
We were supposed to arrive at Hotel at 20:00 but had car problems so we arrived at 23:15. room was clean but fridge had old soft drinks in it and it was not block E as in my booking confirmation nor the pictures I looked at. Reception said block E is deluxe. So as if I can't afford or need deluxe, just want to know why I wasn't in the room I booked. 23:00 I was too tired to ask questions.
We were well received but it was a rainy afternoon and a lot of mud washed onto our verandah. No mats at the unit to wipe our feet before entering. The shower was leaking and the toilet flushed up before sucking the water away. Bathroom size very small. The restaurant staff were helpful in providing milk for our coffees inside the unit. The food at the restaurant was good.
We will visit Chargo again and again.
Comfortable units. Nice, white and clean bedding. Good beds that ensured a good night's rest. Lovely with the pool, precisely because it was so hot. Will definitely use their facilities again. Delicious and tasty food.
It would be very useful to put a small bar fridge in the room.
We only booked one night but our car gave problems. At a friendly request, the manager on duty allowed us to use the room for a little while longer the next day while we could arrange a rental car. Great people and I would love to stop there again. The place is really safe and kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Neat and safe. You just wait a long time for service at the restaurant. Nice playground for the children, neat and safe. The service at the restaurant is just slow, but it seems like there are too few waiters for the amount of people and so they don't get to all the tables. It took half an hour from the time we were seated before someone took our order and a further hour and a half before we received the food.
VERY CLEAN AND HOSPITAL
Outstanding service, meals, lodging. Only overnight place for me in the future, truly the best value for your money and worth every penny! Thank you Merino Inn, we really enjoyed it and just wanted to stay another night!
Rooms were great, air conditioning in the rooms, restaurant and bar on site. Everything conveniently close! Pool was refreshing and nice and cool. Will definitely go back again.
Nice oasis in arid area. Ice cold beer, delicious food and clean rooms. Wonderful.
Very nice place, especially with children. Nice big lawn to play on. Food was excellent!
It was very peaceful, clean and comfortable so you didn't need to drive around. The swimming pool naturally helps to cool down.
See stars.
Very satisfied, will definitely visit again.
The stay was very good. Much better than a few years ago. The family rooms are a bit far from the pool and are a bit cut off from the hotel.
Everything was great and service was wonderful. Unfortunately we had cold showers as there was no hot water in our unit. But other than that it was clean and comfortable.
Only frustration for me personally was room A10's shower was too small for someone as tall as me.
The luggage rack plus a shelf with a wall plug (for a hairdryer) and mirror is something that other guesthouses/overnight places Merino Inn can easily emulate. Parking under a canopy right outside the door, chamois and springbok in a camp, large lawn, a swimming pool and restaurant on site, on the route to Knysna, definitely our stopover in Colesberg from now on!
I would have appreciated a fridge in the room for us to keep our perishables we had with us fresh. Other than that the inn was perfect and clean. The reception staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful.
Good value for money. The service was great and the employees extremely friendly.
This place is ideal for families with small children. After being on the road for 9 hours, there was nothing better than coming across their giant swimming pool. The rooms all overlook a large lawn with shade trees, a climbing frame and the swimming pool. The restaurant terrace extends up to the climbing frame. The food is very much like a Spur menu: leg of lamb, rump steak, schnitzel, chicken strips and boiled vegetables. It's not 'fancy': there isn't a cappuccino with breakfast, Ricoffy and Nescafe are your foreland, but you can sit in peace while the children play, you don't have to sail into town in search of food, and no one is going to look at you funny if you just come and sit in your swimming trunks. The rooms are spotlessly clean with white bed linen and white towels. There is a game camp with two beautiful chamois and some springbok, the staff are friendly and helpful, it's truly pet friendly. That's exactly what we needed to break the long road. There is also ample parking for people with trailers. Finally, a tip: the restaurant sells breakfast roadside food. They make a pack to take away like in the old days, with boiled eggs and sausages and so on.
As above, great experience, now my stopover in Colesberg, keep it up.
Neat bedding and fresh towels. Good, friendly service. The shower is a bit small and slippery. Cute restaurant.
Good service, friendly, clean, peaceful place. Restaurant with delicious large portions. Will definitely stay there again.
Nice and close to the highway on the way to the Cape. Delicious dinner, friendly staff and very neat rooms. Breakfast was a disappointment, however, as I expected more from a full English breakfast than I received. For example, I asked for white toast and got up to 2 slices of white bread with butter that is so hard you can't spread it. The next time again got the bread and eggs wrong (used the room service as I just wanted to eat and drive) so couldn't exactly return it due to time.
See rating.
Everything clean neat and friendly staff.
No problems encountered. Will definitely stay there again.
Was kindly met on arrival. Units well equipped and clean. Room service was good.
Friendly people, good food.
Very nice place to sleep. Staff is very friendly. Bookings and inquiries are dealt with very quickly and effectively. Would recommend anytime.
Great if you're traveling with kids. The service at the restaurant was disappointing.
In the morning, shower water was lukewarm.
Beds good quality and we rested wonderfully after a long day's driving.
For overnight on the way home, accommodation is sufficient. Refrigerator in all units will be a bonus. The benefit of pet friendly is a huge bonus.
Service extremely poor, bathrooms terribly small.
Comfortable beds and a nice big lawn for the dogs. It's not in town and is right by the highway.
Peaceful and quiet for a few nights away from Gauteng.
My experience at the hotel was great except when I arrived at Colesburg Engine garage.
Have room fumigated regularly.
I specifically booked here because I was traveling with my dogs. The only rooms without doors to the grass are given to people with animals. So one has to go all the way around if they want to let the dogs out. Note that one also pays extra for the dogs (I knew this, but I do not know why there is an extra cost). They moved me to a room closer to the grass, but were not happy with it at all. The shower was not clean - before we even used the bathroom, there was hair on the shower floor. I'm was disgusted. There are better places to stay in Colesberg that offer you better value for money. We booked late and unfortunately did not have many other options. The food at the restaurant was delicious.
It seems rooms were not inspected prior to check in. Air-cons not working. Rooms were not ready and we were treated as though we were at fault for not being happy with the services. The showers in block A are ridiculous.
Friendly reception. Called in the morning and confirmed that we are still coming and we promise that the room will be ready. When we arrived at 14h30 the rooms were not ready. One of the cleaners confirms that they didn't know they had to clean the rooms. Our neighbors in the same situation. Very awkward situation because we had to sit in the hot car until the room was ready and no one deigned to apologise.
Baie nice plek om te oornag, skoon, netjies en bekostigbaar.
Many thanks for a nice stay. Will definitely be back.
It was an absolute pleasure to spend the night there. Thank you very much.
Very pleasant atmosphere and the recreation ground is fantastic to relax after a long journey.
The place is comfortable and tidy.
Very neat and clean. Will recommend to friend and family. Maybe just bit more coffee etc in room will be nice so you can have on arrival and departure.
We had a stop over on our way to George. Merino Inn offers very good value for money. We enjoyed the location.
Everything was perfect. The dinner was incredibly delicious.
It is a neat and safe place. The dinner was delicious. Children had fun swimming. Very good customer service, everyone is very friendly and helpful.
Very neat; everything a traveler needs, air conditioner, bar, great shower, restaurant. Clean!
Best accommodation in Colesberg.
The room was large and spacious and the dinner and breakfast were of a really good quality - nice mutton and the staff were very nice and helpful. We will definitely stay there again!
A lovely peaceful place. Definitely value for money.
See stars.
Arrived at Merino Inn in Colesberg at 01:00 at night, reception was immediately at work to check us in as soon as possible. Excellent overnight stay.
See stars.
Was a wonderful place to spend the night, ate and visited very well and the rooms were very nice and friendly people.
See stars.
We were very surprised with the room. Clean tidy, large and relatively modern. Better value than a 3 star hotel from the famous group. The area around the pool was silver clean with a nice garden. The dining place under the canopy's menu was more than adequate and the service excellent. The booking action was also flawless. We spend the night at the Gariep Dam every year, but this is a much better option at half the cost. Well done to the owner/manager/staff.
I will recommend this stay to anyone. We enjoyed it very much.
Merino Hotel was easy to find and the quick help of the staff got us to our room quickly and we were able to relax for the rest of the afternoon. Neat fully equipped rooms. I would stay there again anytime.
Service was excellent and Marino Inn Hotel is conveniently located along the N1.
Merino Inn was our halfway house between Cape Town and Pretoria. The place is neat and facilities are excellent. Staff are very helpful. I would definitely recommend the place.
A wonderful experience on the long way to the Cape. Friendly reception. Clean rooms with everything needed. Nice place to eat with nice Carrot Jops!
Comfortable, tidy accommodation, slept well. Great play and run around place for kids. Dinner was an exceptionally delicious Karoo meal with friendly staff. A gem on the long road!
My friends and I were at the Merino Inn for the afternoon and evening and we considered the convenience of the swimming pool, food and accommodation to be more than adequate. Can highly recommend the place to other travelers.
High praise to the friendly reception staff at this establishment. Room was welcoming with light and heater on as we arrived (Karoo winter nights are very cold!). Room was spacious, beds were comfortable and shower exceptional. Conveniently close to the N1. Recommended.
Friendly reception, variety of facilities including a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, etc. Rooms are neat, spacious and clean with air conditioning and do not form part of the main complex. The hotel is easily accessible from the main routes and close to a gas station. Despite this, no disturbance from the traffic.
Better to stop at Merino a little earlier and enjoy the pool. Children could run around and play! Slept comfortably and peacefully. Do try the mutton tails, it was a winner!
See stars.
Clean and safe. For overnight it is sufficient.
We were on our way back to Johannesburg from a holiday in Cape Town. The hotel staff is very friendly and the room was clean and tidy. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious with a wholesome atmosphere.
It's not the first time we've spent the night here and we will definitely come back again. Safe and tidy with good service from the staff. Rooms have everything you need for a good night's rest and a good time.
Nice playground for children. Reasonable food, everything neat. Animals good distraction for children. It seems pretty safe. Miriam at reception friendly and helpful.
Merino Inn is a comfortable hotel. Rooms are neat with a bar fridge. Parking in front of the room. We ate at their restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. We'll stay here again.
Thank you Merino Inn. Your service is very good.
Fridge and new bedding would be plus in rooms. Also very good for overnight. Nice with the restaurant and nice pool.
Perfect for halfway stop.
Will definitely go back.
Good service. Slept well.
Places are neat, good for one night's stay. The shower is very nice and water pressure was low, the air conditioner didn't work either.
Good service, food was delicious.
Everything was 100% the restaurant was very full and the service was very poor. I suggest they train the waiters and be better prepared about the busy days especially if they have the room reservations ahead of time and know how many people to expect. Rooms and pool were lovely, only restaurant needs attention.
In all respects very good value for money. Great overnight stay.
Short fridge in room to keep frozen meat or food cold.
Merino hotel is at a nice location with a few options to eat at around the area, they have friendly staff and willingness to help. I needed a bucket to bath my toddler in, which they provided, as the room had no bath and they kept some meat in their freezer for us, but for those travelling with much needed stuff for keeping cold for your next day travel, note that there is no fridges. This can be a bit of an inconvenience. Also, although I got a bucket to bath my child in, by the time the showers water hit it, it was cold. I had to use the kettle, which then wouldn't reheat a second time because it senses its too hot. So it was a struggle. We did not enjoy our shower, the shower head is real bad with almost no water coming out. After hours of travelling, a good shower was needed and the drains were blocked and the toilets wouldn't flush. This place has real potential but I will unfortunately not stay here again because of the shower facility and no fridges.
Comfortable and clean rooms. Restaurant gives good value for money meals. Ideal for travelers with children and pets. Good enough to visit again.
Water was cold in the shower. Was in room F2, there's a door that connects F1 with F2 in which other people stayed. All the sound was coming through and the light and so it is very disturbing. I put a large blanket in front of the door to try and make it better.
Friendly service. Place is clean.
We booked the standard room and came across shockingly dirty blood stained bedding. The management immediately came to change the bedding and when we decided to look for other accommodation instead, they offered us a more exclusive room which was much better. I wouldn't recommend the standard rooms at all, but I would recommend the more exclusive rooms. Can't complain at all about how the management handled the problem, but can't help but wonder how something like this was overlooked by the cleaners. In that case, one cannot help but wonder if the bedding is changed between guests. Water pipe burst during the night, with the result that workers were walking around on the roof at 01:00 in the morning doing repairs. I feel it was fate and not something they could have foreseen.
Delicious food that can be ordered as room service. Basic rooms. Limited TV channels. Fine for a stopover en-route. Convenient location.
Rooms are clean and tidy. A bit out of town. Nice restaurant - lamb's tails at its best.
We arrived at Merino Inn in pitch darkness. Power was off due to storm/load. I had to call reception to find out what to do. Room had no candles or any kind of emergency light. If it wasn't for my own flashlight, there would be no light. Even after power came on after 11am no outside lights on site. We had to load our luggage again in the dark. Overall not a good experience.
Relatively clean with everything in working order.
Staff very friendly. Food tasty and value for money.
Very nice stay. Fridges in the rooms would have been an asset. I would definitely stay there again.
Very good service, rooms were very neat with air conditioning, there is a swimming pool and restaurant too, children can play on the grass, would stay here again.
Merino Inn was our halfway house between Cape Town and Pretoria. The place is neat and facilities are excellent. Staff are very helpful. I would definitely recommend the place.
Very neat and peaceful stay. Staff very friendly.
After a warm day it was the best to relax in a cool room. Neat and clean!
Excellent service and beautiful view.
With all the years we go to the Cape on holiday we sleep half way through in Colesberg. Merino Inn was the nicest place to stay and will definitely stay at Merino Inn every time we spend our Cape holiday.
An incredibly luxurious, yet cozy experience.
It was clean and tidy with friendly people who helped us. The restaurant served delicious meals as well as breakfast. We were able to rest wonderfully before our long journey to Hartenbos.
Would stay here again. Good value for money.
Thank you for your friendly service, I unfortunately only stayed one night but it was just what I needed.
The accommodation was very good. WiFi in the reception area and not in the rooms, But overall it was very good, friendly, neat and rooms are beautiful. Bathrooms and showers very nice. It is a very nice place to stay and it is right by the highway for when you want to leave in the morning.
After 7 hours on the road, the Marino Inn Hotel was a real oasis. We didn't get there until after 19:00 and it was cold and very windy. We were received kindly and helped quickly. The weather was so bad and none of us wanted to sit down and eat in a restaurant after such a long drive. They immediately gave us the menu together with our keys and we could look at the menus and order in the comfort of our rooms. The most delicious food was brought to our rooms where we could eat in peace. Food was tasty and well priced. The rooms in the F Block were spacious, clean and very comfortable. Bathrooms were also spacious and comfortable. The shower was lovely. We had a very pleasant, quiet and peaceful and safe night's rest and could hit the road again the next morning rested. I should also mention that one of the members of our group is in a wheelchair, and that the room was very comfortable and spacious for the wheelchair to move into. Merino Inn Hotel is definitely now my overnight destination of choice in Colesberg.
Excellent reception. Stephen at the bar gave us a nice welcome. Chef served us delicious dishes for dinner. Would be happy to recommend.
They are the friendliest people. Felt so home, hospitality was incredible, definitely my favorite overnight place.
Upon our arrival at Merino Inn we were received very kindly. Upon arrival in the room we found that the television was not working. Called reception and within 10 minutes someone was there to quickly sort out the problem. Had a great meal at the restaurant on site. Would definitely recommend Merino Inn and use it again.
Meets my requirement of good facilities which include TV and aircon with on site restaurant.
The unit is very neat, clean and the security is very good. Its location is perfect for an overnight stay on the long road.
The Merino Inn was a relief after a long day on the road. Everything is beautifully clean and peaceful and grounds so well cared for. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely use them again on our way to or from the Cape.
Rooms were very clean and tidy. Food was very tasty! Cooled down in the pool, it will definitely be recommended and sleep over again.
Well located, very neat and clean, reasonable rates. Friendly staff. Will stay there again.
Comfortable and spacious accommodation.
Accommodation was very comfortable, room was clean and had air conditioning and a small fridge. The towels could be improved and WiFi is not available.
It was very nice to see a friendly face after a long day on the road. The room was neat and clean and the shower did wonders for the soul. After a lovely night's rest we could hit the road again. Thank you very much for friendly and prompt service.
We enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and the restaurant food was very good. Our room was a bit basic but comfortable and clean.
Really enjoyed it, thank you very much.
Great place, neat and clean. A fridge and microwave would have been great though.
Thanks, nice buildings, historically interesting.
Clean and tidy. Children could stretch their legs on the large lawn and play area, after the long day of sitting in the car.
Receptionist is very friendly. Ants were a bit of a problem.
Nice big comfortable rooms with good service. Perfect stopover on the way to the Cape. The fridge in the room helped a lot to keep cold drinks cold for the road.
The accommodation and location are excellent. Rooms adequate and located near the highway.
Pleasantly surprised. Will use the establishment again.
Feel it was a bit expensive for one night, but also understand that it is that time of the year. We found other people's hair on the pillows and blankets which was not so nice, but the rooms were nice and clean and very tidy. The children really enjoyed the pool, jumping castle and swings and it was a struggle to get them back into the room. I would definitely recommend Merino Inn Hotel to people.
Staff were particularly friendly. Lovely cool pool. Dinner at restaurant was delicious. Rooms clean and tidy, but could do with a renovation and renewal.
Comfortable and safe place to stay. Kids enjoyed the space and pool after a long day on the road. Delicious food, value for money.
We enjoyed it very much, the staff were all very friendly and considerate. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious.
The Hotel is nice and close to the main road and good aircon in the room ensures a good rest.
The shower was very small. The beds were old. The dinning room only offered a meal for R150. No other choice. The hotel needs to be revamped. From my first stay about 25 years ago till now, very little or nothing has been upgraded. The pool facility was good.
Recommendation not to have fixed menu. Would like to enjoy light dinner.
Thank you, enjoyed our stay.
Hotel is neat and clean. Maybe a bit expensive. Would have liked a small fridge in the room.
Perfect location, friendly service and very good food!
Nice overnight stay. Good location for an early departure.
Merino Inn is very conveniently located next to the N1. Although our room was very close to the road we experienced very little noise and it was peaceful. On a sweltering day, January 5th, the air conditioner was indispensable and worked wonderfully. Rooms very comfortably large with 2 double beds. However, my suggestion is to take meals with you (can't barbeque there) as the restaurant is outrageously expensive for their meals and doesn't offer any lighter and cheaper options as well as the fact that the restaurant's air conditioner doesn't work, it has a very uncomfortable experience. Paid more there than in an above average restaurant in Pretoria for very average food.
Enough for a sleepover.
We stayed here when we drove down to Cape Town and we decided to stay there again on the way back. Clean and comfortable. You can't get any closer to the N1.
The room was clean and tidy. The food was delicious.
They do a lot with very little. Remember, it's a 3-star stay, you only store your tired corpse for a few hours before moving on.
Merino Inn Hotel is located right next to the N1, is tidy and well equipped for families as an overnight destination on their way to or from a holiday.
Peaceful and neat accommodation.
Early in the morning quite noisy as the people take the road early. Dinners offered were pleasant and reasonably priced.
We slept well, the room was very neat and clean. The food was very nice, but I think R16 for a can of coke is a bit rough.
Receptionists were friendly and professional. However, the restaurant and ladies bar were not prepared for their guests and it wasn't even peak time for holidaymakers on their way back!
The room we booked and paid for was advertised with a bathtub and fridge. When checking in there was no such room or none available.
Quiet atmosphere and clean pool. Friendly service. However, there were a few issues that were not handled to my liking.
Neat, practical and exceeded my expectations for what I expected.
A bit expensive for what you get.
We selected the sleep over to break out trip and freshen up before continuing our journey. No hot water. No understanding to our disappointment. For the price we just get a bed and a cold shower.
WiFi does not work and hopelessly too little data is given. There was no toilet paper when we arrived and we only got one roll for 3 people. Beds were uncomfortable and hard.
Merino Inn's quality varies greatly and some of the accommodation I never want to sleep in again. The level rooms should be much better described. I'm not going to pay that much money for a 30 year old bed and old facilities again. Maybe 50% of the price if I can't find anything else. The C block is priced right and is also of a higher grade and I would like to stay there again. When I booked, your agent made me understand that we were booked there, but we were put back in the old places. It doesn't work that way for me.
Restaurant service very poor.
At reception the receptionist gave us the wrong room and mentioned that I have to pay. The location is also not good because of the trucks that make noise all night.
Book accommodation, make a deposit as required and at check-in time the price is simply more expensive, because the room has a shower and not a bath. Since when specify a shower or a bath the room's costs.
Sentraal geleë, vriendelik, Afrikaans, kamers is skoon en netjies, ruik lekker.
Very cute place, enough bedding, clean rooms and very comfortable. We only stayed one night but will make this a regular institution on our way to Cape Town. We didn't get there until dark and couldn't use the pool and facilities as planned, but that was our own fault. The dinner menu in the rooms is an excellent point. I would suggest one or two smaller meals like toasted sandwiches for those who aren't quite as hungry in the evening.
Very neat facilities and definitely child-friendly rooms!
We only stayed one night, but I wish we could stay another night because only when we left we saw the bucks and the "beautiful" we couldn't see at night. Perfect location for overnight and the luxury suites hav more than enough space with warm bedding!
Best value for money and the food was top notch.
Merino Inn Hotel is comfortable, great space in rooms, good pit stop after a long day's drive, had a nice rest and ate. Will visit again.
There are 2 types of rooms and I spent the night in both. On my Cape journey there were unfortunately no fridge in which to store my holiday supplies. On my way back there was a fridge, but it wasn't needed anymore. I would recommend that they put a bar fridge in every room.
We stayed 1 night. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are neat and comfortable. Their restaurant is a must. Delicious meals, especially the lamb tails. You're definitely seeing us again.
Neat and clean. Big rooms and a lovely pool.
An ideal stopover point between Cape and Gauteng. Everything in the house, sleep, eat, drink and walk around.
See the stars.
Comfortable overnight accommodation that we can recommend. Restaurant unfortunately does not meet our needs. e.g. ice shortage, too few waiters.
Comfortable.
Perfect halfway stop between Johannesburg and Cape Town. Accommodation comfortable and clean. Dinner of the best and tasty. Can recommend it.
The Merino Inn Hotel is conveniently situated close to the N1 route through Colesberg and therefore an ideal place for a stopover when traveling through the Karoo. Room was clean and provided everything needed for a one-night stay. I can recommend this hotel for tourists and travellers.
The restaurant surprised us! Very nice to eat there instead of looking for a place to eat elsewhere. Convenient and centrally located.
Very neat and convenient. The only problem was that there was no WiFi available - according to the advertisement WiFi is available to guests in the reception and entertainment area. According to the lady at reception the WiFi-data was already finished both times we stayed over - it was very disappointing!
Very neat and clean, would make use of Merino Inn again.
After a long day's travel, Merino Inn truly provides a welcome respite. The staff are friendly and competent. I would like to compliment the restaurant - after a heavy storm the electricity went out, yet the restaurant was still open and provided good meals. It was lovely to sleep on a good quality mattress. I just want to add that it was strange to me in a water-poor region how many water leaks there were in a single unit. The bath and sink's hot water tap was dripping and the toilet also had a water problem as soon as it was flushed.
This accommodation is good value for money. The unit I stayed in was old, but clean. No Wi-Fi. The shower is for very short people.
Accommodation meets the basic requirements for a good night's rest at a very central point.
Merino Inn Hotel is a great place to stay.
The room was well equipped with all the necessities. We had hot water. Friendly people. Had a meal from the restaurant's a la carte menu, delicious.
Can see the age of the hotel catching up with it though.
More attention to cleanliness required.
Does not at all correspond with the pictures on any of the sites. There are lots of old stuff in the rooms.
Comfortable accommodation. Meals that are offered are of a high standard. The rooms can use an upgrade.
Food was good and children could play outside. Room very basic and cleanliness and linen could be improved for sure.
The staff however were friendly and were actually the only reason we stayed. The restaurant is very expensive for what you get. General maintenance is behind the times. Expected more.
Our stay started on the wrong note because there was a misunderstanding about the type of room we booked, they didn't read the booking form carefully and the receptionist didn't really feel like meeting me. The problem was then solved by the manager and we got a room of our choice. Unfortunately, there were problems again, the door didn't close properly, the shower door couldn't close either, the toilet seat was too small for the toilet and some of the lights didn't work. After another conversation we were moved to another room and everything was fine. After that we received only the best and friendliest service and enjoyed delicious food in the restaurant at reasonable prices. My summary: the place needs a little maintenance but the service and friendliness of staff (especially in the restaurant) is excellent.
As always happy to arrive and relax. You are what one looks for after a long day of driving!
Rooms were spacious and tidy. I think the hotel in general needs a bit of renovation. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant.
See stars.
The room's front door didn't work properly. The bathroom is somewhat worn. The door couldn't close properly. Service was mediocre with little attention to detail. One has to give one's details at every meal, but pay directly afterwards. I had to ask that they place everything on my bill so I could pay when we left. Then there was a mistake on our breakfast bill where they got the order wrong. We prefer accommodation with a more personal management style. Meals were tasty and we had a good night's rest. The fridge in the room was very useful to freeze ice and cool drink for the road and keep other perishables cold. Something other overnight places could consider. I was worried that there'd be a great amount of noise so close to the N1, but it wasn't a problem.
When we arrived the hotel wanted us to pay extra to which I just refused. Not sure how their administration is run. We will not want to stay here again.
Telephone in room was out of order. Only after I was sent to the third room did the phone work. I requested something from reception and am still waiting for it. The food was just great. My chicken schnitzel was burnt on one side and the cauliflower very hard. Not sure if the fact that the power was off had anything to do with it? There was one waiter who tried to serve all the people. Don't know if it's worth the money.
I paid R900 for a room from 1982, and with that I mean everything in the room. The only thing from this century was the LED-TV and the limited DStv channels, which were nice. I will not stay there again until the rooms are upgraded. We chose not to shower and just left early the next morning. People were friendly and gladly helped. Nice menu even though we didn't eat there. Nice swimming pool and beautiful garden. I hope they upgrade it, because the place has a lot of potential.
Room okay, heavy vehicles very noisy.
The ladies at reception were very helpful, pleasant. But we were not happy with the condition of the room. For the price I won't stay there again.
Definitely not worth the price of R1000 per night. The boiler was septic, the shower was unusably small. Too few towels available. Impractical for a family with small children.
Deluxe room is described with full bathroom. Nothing bathes. Had to wash baby in shower. No information file in room. No menu for kitchen available. Water flow from taps very poor. Hot water was lukewarm. Parking in front of room very small and limited to one car. Had to park trailer in front on porch.
If you don't mind sleeping with bugs in your bed all night, then this is your place. The rooms are crawling with bugs and the general reception area is also full of cockroaches.
Perfect overnight accommodation for halfway to Mossel Bay, especially with small children.
Thank you, Merina Inn. We had a great stay and had delicious food. Friendly service and value for money.
It was very good and we enjoyed the food.
Will definitely stay here again. Friendly service and also dog friendly.
It was wonderfully relaxed in a neat environment.
We were pleasantly surprised with the cute place. It was clean and the service was good. It was lovely to cool off in the pool after a long hot drive. It was also pet friendly so our dog was welcome and there was plenty of room for her to walk. We also had a delicious meal that evening.
Only stayed one night but room was very good and staff very professional.
See the stars!
We only stayed on night. Could thus not judge the whole place. A bar fridge in the room would have been nice as my sister-in-law is diabetic and needs to keep her insulin cold. Everything was clean, but the bathroom (without a shower) gave the impression that it is a bit outdated. An extra bit of maintenance or renovation would be good. The buck etc. was a bonus.
The accommodation was good, just a pity that the aircon was broken on a very cold evening, and the outside drain was blocked. The front desk lady was very helpful and friendly - thank you!
Everything I need was offered. The room was comfortable and clean. The dinner was delicious and the soup was highly recommended.
Very warm reception. We stayed in B9 and it is a spacious and comfortable unit. Only problem was no fridge.
Welcome and appropriate break in our trip. We were well received and our experience was a good one.
The staff are really friendly, the food is delicious. Could upgrade the air-conditioning with doesn't work properly.
Hosts were friendly and the rooms were clean. Had a good night's sleep and a good time. The food was delicious.
Only stayed one night; unit meets the limited needs. Would have liked a small fridge. Location well placed; unless you are a light sleeper. Would stay there again for one night.
Clean and neat.
The reception was excellent. It was clean and neat. We ate there the one night and the food and service was very good. Thank you so much.
Very nice overnight for those traveling between GP and PE. Food is very nice but the service at the dining hall is pathetic, there is definitely a lack of training and extra staff on the floor.
Pleasant stay and staff. Had problems with the TV. Felt all breakfast options should include small fruit juice and not have to pay R20 for a large watery orange drink.
No shower, no fridge, air conditioning cannot be adjusted and is either full on or off. Restaurant below average.
Wasn't happy with our accommodation at all. Not worth the money. Will definitely not recommend it to family or friends.
We didn't even have hot water when we got there in the evening. We were doomed to a cold shower. Bedding didn't look or smell clean. It really wasn't value for money. I have stayed better elsewhere for the same price. Was not impressed with this place at all. The coffee that they provided they should rather have kept to themselves, because it was horrible. Sorry, never again.
