The unit is very, very neat and nothing is spared to make your stay pleasant. Even a prolonged power outage in the area did not cause any significant inconvenience. I can recommend Close and Comfy with great confidence.
We really enjoyed our stay. It was clean and tidy, and we slept well. The bed was a little short for my husband. Other than that, it was perfect for a quick overnight stay.

Our original booking at Close and Comfy was canceled due to a double booking. It was very disappointing because we had been on the road from early on. But at the end of the day, it was a "blessing in disguise". We couldn't have dreamed up a better place. Marieta who agreed to take us in at the last minute was a brilliant hostess. Her thoughtfulness and service delivery are of excellent quality. From notes pasted on items in the room and kitchen, which are at our disposal, to the option between instant or "brewed" coffee. We also had our own private entrance, so we could come and go without disturbing the hostess.
Close and comfy is just everything you need and more. Quaint, well-furnished and clean. Well recommended.

We checked in a little later than expected but the owner was very helpful and waited for us, The place is very neat and close to the necessary shops. We were the only guests in Close and Comfy for 2 nights, so it was very quiet and peaceful. We were also offered a different room (room 1) than we booked (we booked room 3) as that room gets more sun and would be warmer. However, we were happy with our choice and really enjoyed the stay. We are coffee potters and drink a lot of coffee (nut coffee) and the hostess provided enough "plungers" that we didn't have any problems. We did not need to use the items outside the room at all. The rooms only offer certain items - as stated in the advertisement(s) - but this was sufficient for us. We don't know Port Elizabeth and can't really comment on the convenience of the location of the guest house but for us it was central and we could quickly get where we wanted to be. Hostess friendly and helpful. Directions to find place were clear and with Google, easy to follow. Only negative comment is that there is no covered parking available and when we wanted to drive in the morning, we first had to get the frost off the car's window.

Optionally, emergency items such as a toothbrush that had been forgotten were placed with a price on it, which the honest guest then buys and drops the money into a container of their own free will.
Reception is friendly and very helpful. TV will be welcomed, even if it is also in the living room. Furthermore, the room is well equipped and is located in a quiet environment.
Marita received us kindly. The guest house is conveniently located near main routes. Unfortunately, we feel that the price is too high for what is offered. Room 3 is small and the bath could not be used as it serves as a storage space. We only had hot water on the night of arrival. The next morning the water was very lukewarm as the geyser had already been turned off the night before. There is also no TV in the common area. Our bathroom floor was not very clean either.

As the name says: Close and Comfy! Close to all businesses and eateries in Walmer and Walmerpark Mall. Secure parking behind devil's fork fence. Fresh, clean, crisp, pure white linen and big white towels, nice big and soft pillows! Small table in room 1 to be able to work or eat on. Delicious complimentary snacks in basket and mineral water in small fridge, more than enough coffee and tea. Breakables and cutlery neatly packed in plastic bags! Kitchen and dining room just across the hall from room - close at hand! We arrived 5 minutes before load shedding and solar lights were ready for our convenience! Very nice hostess, she even printed for us documents that we urgently needed. Thank you very much Marita! We had a wonderful stay and can recommend your place with love. There is no TV in the room, but didn't bother us, was only there for 1 night, was tired and just needed a hot shower and bed.

Our car broke down we had to be towed to PE, so found this in a hurry, we arrived very late to, but were welcomed by the host. She was very kind and accommodated us and assisted us to get a car hire and took us there twice. I will highly recommend her as an host.

My stay was only for one night while my husband was in St George's Hospital. It was convenient, although not within walking distance. Great value for money compared with other closer accommodation. The room was spotless, luxurious linen and towels and hostess Marita was welcoming and most helpful. Highly recommended.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised with this lovely place and the owner's hospitality and going the extra mile with regular snacks in our room. My wife is particularly fond of crisp, clean bedding and she was not disappointed. The place is quiet and very central. We would have liked to make use of this again, but we were very put off by the limited water usage. We are aware that Port Elizabeth is burdened by a year-long water restriction. We believe that when only rainwater is used in a guest house or overnight facility, interested parties must be informed on the website or by the host in advance. That's the only reason we have to not stay at Close and Comfy again. Otherwise, this is the best place for reasonable priced accommodation.
The accommodation is worth its price. TV, and easy parking are missed.
