Upon our arrival we were kindly received and immediately taken to our rooms. What stood out was the decor with the beautiful garden and overall cleanliness. We wanted to order pizzas and our host kindly offered to pick them up for us.

Anton is a fantastic host. Very friendly and helpful. We always enjoy our stay at Cottonwood, but I think the rooms are starting to need some renovations and the carpets a good cleaning.
This was our 2nd time back at Cottonwood. Anton, the manager, went out of his way to help us after we had a problem with our booking. Great service and an exceptionally beautiful guest house! They will definitely see us again.

It was a very decent stay for the family. One room with all the beds, so it was a bit cramped, but that's all that was needed, and everything we needed was available. Service was fantastic and accommodating with arrangements when we could arrive slightly late.

Aircon did not work and made a noise. There was no warm water to shower as the gas geyser had to be reset, and still my partner did not have warm water. Furthermore, the stay was nice.

We had a very nice sleepover on the way home from the Western Cape. Cute garden for our dogs. I would suggest that the beds are not super wet before guests with dogs come to stay as the unit has carpets it was a struggle with the dogs muddy paws. We spent the night on our way to Mossel Bay. A comfortable, safe place to sleep over.
All amenities you can think of are there. Also covered parking for car and electricity during load shedding. Only potential negative point is that the shower was too small.

Winter or summer, you will have a great time!
Pro: Clean, good location, WiFi access, aircon, complimentary still water. Con: Gas geyser (unpleasant), shower tiles and layout caused concern for slipping and falling (might especially be a problem if very young or old), small parking area with difficulty manoeuvring car (especially if more than one car is in the parking area).
The bottom fitted sheet looked as if it had not been changed, it looked like there were some small spills and grubby spots were at the bottom where your feet would be. As we were leaving early in the morning we just pulled the top sheet over and slept on that. We also had noisy neighbours / other guests, which also happened the previous time we stayed there. . I know that cant be helped though. . We have stayed at cottonwood before but dont think we will return.

The host was very friendly and helpful, and the place was beautifully kept, neat and clean. I was travelling with my dog, and he had a little fenced-off garden to move around in. This place is really great value for money.

Cottonwood was a peaceful guest house. Would stay there again anytime. The animal friendly area was a bit annoying next to me with a dog that kept barking. Would rather take another room further away from it next time.
Didn't get room I booked. On arrival we were not welcomed well at all, we arrived at 14:30 and our room was not ready for us at all. Hostess just said upon arrival sorry but we are not done with your room yet. We thought it was only 1 or 2 things that still had to be done but it's like we weren't on the system. Nothing in room was ready. We waited plus or minus 45 min after an hour for them. Other guests were well welcomed, they were directed to their room and the hostess explained about the gym and everything to other guests, we just had to sit and wait. She later just came to say we were welcome to sit by the pool after we had been sitting in the car for quite some time and she offered us juice. When I told her it wasn't the room I booked, she said it's just the thing about online booking you don't always get what you book. I am a regular customer on the website and have always received what I booked. The room we were crammed into didn't feel as luxurious to us as in the photos and there aren't even photos of that room on the website. For R2060 a night we feel it was really pathetic. I took pictures of place. We felt really unwelcome. The room was dilapidated. The hostess also made me understand that everything is full so we just have to take what we get. We also understand loadshedding these days but our room was not even cooled with aircon before we arrived and no windows were open, therefore we also felt that we were not exactly welcome there. It was loadshedding from 3 to 7 and we struggled when power came on with aircon because it was damn hot. It didn't work, my husband had to call and after an "argument" aircon was turned on. Our sliding door to enter the room was completely off its track, the poor lady who had to get it fixed in a hurry had to go and get help to fix the door. We didn't get any information from the host, had to find out about things ourselves. The outdoor seating area was also not cleaned, the cushions and bench were full of sand and dirt, we weren't going to braai but the braai grid was dirty and it was just a nasty experience. We love trying out new places but unfortunately we will never use or recommend Cottonwood again. My husband was so upset when we arrived and we were treated like this that he said we should get in the car and drive through to Mossel Bay. But we had already been on the road for some time and were dead tired!

Cottonwood is a beautiful place; excellent, friendly service, and a peaceful environment. They are fully equipped for power outages and guests don't even notice when Eskom kicks out. Would recommend them with the utmost confidence.

We were unsure if breakfast was included and did not ask. So, for the future if it is included it says please. for the guests. We weren't sure. If it was not included it would be good to provide for it. Would have appreciated it.
Room had privacy with patio, was clean and spacious. Disappointment was cold shower in the morning. Owner explained solar heated shower, it would take time to filter through, but this did not meet expectations. The evening shower allowed two hot showers, with the third lukewarm. Morning was cold. Not pleasant. Spoilt the stay.

We have always been placed in a room with 2 rooms at Cottonwood. We have been spending the night there for years. This time we were squeezed into a cramped space in 1 room with all the beds next to each other. 4 adults. Would be ideal for 2 people with a small table. Now there is not even a small table. There are only 3 glasses of a kind. Room is definitely not suitable for 4 persons. Fortunately, we were a family with 2 adult children. Otherwise it was terribly uncomfortable. Not again. Next time I will look for other accommodation.

The guest house is well located and we found it easily. It's very nice, clean and tidy and there is more than enough space for everyone. However, I could not get hold of the guest house on Saturday evening on the number that is on the website and the person also did not respond to my Whatsapp.

We were very satisfied with the place, it's neat and clean and they arranged breakfast for us at the last minute which was very nice. We will use them again especially as our dogs and children also had a little garden to enjoy.
The accommodation was very comfortable and it was easy with the beagles. Our room had a private little garden with a gate that we could close so the beagles could roam freely. The room was spacious and set up for travelers. Plugs in the right places, aircon, quality mattress and linen, blackout curtains.
Cottonwood was a welcome respite at the end of a long journey. It was clean and cool (air-conditioning) and the facilities were ample for an overnight stay. We had to change our booking due to unforeseen circumstances and they gladly accommodated our request.

There was some party that night when we slept there. There were young people everywhere on the premises and in the driveway, it was difficult to drive. The people were still chatting on Sunday morning until 01:00, and you could hear all the noise in the room. It was very disturbing. But the room itself was very well equipped and very neat.
Pleasant place to stay overnight with its own entrance. Pet friendly and secluded area for our dachshund to run around. Take note of location, it takes a while to get to the guest house from the south with many turns but the GPS takes you there easily. Honesty bar with a few items is a plus, neat full kitchen is well equipped. Full DStv service is exceptional. Areas for improvement: No towels in bathroom, water pools in the shower and drains slowly, winter fitted sheets on the bed in December?
We were greeted by a staff member. Not the owner himself. At least we slept and rested well. Secure parking near our unit. The family unit does not have a sofa where one can sit. There are 2 beds. Furthermore, everything is there that you need. Even a place for your dog child.
We always spend the night here when we want to spend the night in the Bloemfontein area, because it is so comfortable, clean and tidy and peaceful at Cottonwood!

I would recommend LekkeSlaap to anyone. We have been to Spes Bona and Cotttonwood and I will use them again because they are affordable and clean and tidy and polite people operate the facilities.
We received a warm welcome from our hostess after an exhausting journey. She did everything in her power to set us up comfortably for the night. The place has everything you need to ensure a good night's rest and we would recommend it to anyone traveling through Bloemfontein.

We got a beautiful, spacious and clean overnight 2 bedroom place. Was easily accessible from the N1. Would recommend anytime.
Only booked 2 rooms. Asked for extra room, while all the rooms were fully booked. We were given a room in the house and the service was excellent. Always go back to Cottonwood. The entrance to the guest house is all that is uncomfortable, the traffic in the street is very busy.
