Dakota Lodge is a fully licenced establishment and offers a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. During your stay feel free to visit Flippies Cockpit cocktail bar and enjoy the highveld sunset on our deck overlooking Rand Airport runway.
The lodge also features a 24-hour reception desk, a business station with printing, fax, scanning and email services, Wi-Fi internet access, laundry services, a moderately equipped gym, and a coffee lounge. Shuttle services, and scenic flights can be arranged. The lodge is situated in an access controlled security complex, and parking vouchers are available at the reception.
The lodge can host conferences or small functions for 10 to 50 delegates in their smaller venue overlooking the Rand Airport runway. Weddings and large functions for 80 to 500 guests can be held in the 2000-square metre hangar with the historic planes as a backdrop.

26 guests' feedbackHad a nice stay. TV channels a bit limited. And must pay R45 parking for each day if going out. But otherwise everything was neat and we had a nice stay.
Just be aware that you have to pay extra for parking and only 4 TV channels are available.
Rooms are neat and clean. The place is safe and close to a restaurant. It's nice to sit on the stoepie, good experience.
Rooms are neat and comfortable. However, housekeeping needs attention. No toilet paper in the room. Kettle was leaking water, this was reported on reception but nothing was done about it. TV's remote had no batteries in it. Nor is it mentioned that one has to pay for parking.
We could only book in at 14H30. Shower were blocked. No water or ice in room.
The room was clean and people were friendly.
Webster at reception is very helpful and friendly. I was able to park my plane in the Dakota Lodge's hanger. Outstanding!
When you consider cost, no breakfast included, then you have to pay another R45 to get out of the parking in the morning, it is quite expensive.
Location was good and it was peaceful.
Due to very poor service we will never use Dakota Lodge again.

Very good option for the area especially because security and the very good place to eat at the airport. Only problem was communication about how payment for parking works and that you have to keep ticket to go out along with lodge voucher.
Dakota Lodge offers neat accommodation with friendly, helpful staff and secure parking. Well located and very easy to get to nearby suburbs. A plus point for us was the Harvard Café where we ate on Friday night and Sunday morning. It is walking distance from Dakota Lodge and has a great atmosphere! We will definitely stay at Dakota Lodge again when we need accommodation in that area. Definitely value for money! Thank you!
A unique setting on the edge of the Rand Airport runway. Great place to stay if aviation and aviation history interests you. The rooms are well appointed and staff go out of their way to assist guests. The biggest plus is that the airport and Lodge is in an access controlled area if safety is a consideration.

Dakota Lodge has neat rooms with elegant finishes. It made my stay feel like a mini vacation.
Accommodation was convenient, had easy access and was clean. Will easily recommend it. Air-con was a big plus!
The unit we stayed in did not have crockery or cutlery in it. I had to ask reception twice for crockery. Inside the microwave were a previous guest's "left-overs" that had gone rotten. The cleaner didn't even wipe the microwave after removing the rotten food package. The TV reception was poor. The curtains are torn.
Good place, very welcoming, I enjoyed my stay there.
Despite the informal settlements in the area, Dakota Lodge has the needed security in place to make you feel safe. Thanks for pleasant accommodation. We will definitely overnight here again.
