Damplaas Bos en Berghuisie is located a mere 20 km from Swartruggens on a game and cattle farm of 1404-hectare in the Marico bushveld area. This self-catering mountain cottage is ideal for nature lovers who want to relax in the beautiful bushveld.

The cottage has no electricity but light is provided by rechargeable solar panel system. Hot water is boiled by a donkey boiler. The cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms,1 bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen and small seating area. The first bedroom contains a double bed and the other bedroom has 2 single beds. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, a basin and a toilet. There is also an outdoor shower for the more adventurous under a beautiful
Burkea tree.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and contains a gas stove, a gas fridge, cutlery, pots and crockery. The seating area has seating space for 4 people. There is good cellphone signal available at Berghuisie.

The house area opens up onto a lovely boma area which has outdoor seating and braai facilities, ideal for spending an evening outside under the stars.

Activities on the farm include 4x4 trails, mountain biking, and fishing depending on the water levels of the dams and can only be reached by 4x4 vehicles.

Pilanesberg Nature Reserve and Sun City is about 65 km from Damplaas. The area also has several South African War attractions and a little mampoer can be tasted at the Groot Marico about 30 km further or visit the Herman Charles Bosman Museum.
