Everyone was nice and helpful and the rooms are five star.
Clean, large rooms. Delicious food. Child and dog friendly. Very good value for money.
We were initially quite skeptical when we made the reservation. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the 4-course meal - Food is unbeatable! Accommodation was clean and safe. Will stay here every time now.

From a warm welcome, through a 3-course culinary masterpiece of a dinner, to a lavish breakfast the next morning, nothing could be faulted. This exceptional guesthouse on a working Free State farm is well worth the drive from the N1 on a gravel road. The rooms are individually decorated in a quirky but most comfortable, even luxurious, style. We can strongly recommend this as a destination for a special event or just a stop-over.

Appears to be one of the best accommodation facilities available in Bloemfontein. Quiet and not too far off the freeway. Staff makes this stay memorable. The interesting history of this family farm seems to be its drawcard.
5 course meal is delicious
De Oude Kraal Country Estate & Spa offers good accommodation together with a 5-star restaurant on a farm near Bloemfontein. Good service, friendly staff and our dog was also very welcome. The dinner is an experience and the rooms have everything you need to spend the night.
This is a hidden gem. Such beautiful scenery and endless photo opportunities. Friendly helpful staff and lovely gardens made our stay exceed our expectations. Definitely will be back many times in the future.

We slept over on the way to Cape Town. We stayed in one of the self-catering cottages. The layout is a bit cramped for a family. There were a few things that were broken like the towel rail. The breakfast at the main house was very nice, the grounds beautiful and nice to walk around and see animals. People helpful.
Such a beautiful country estate. Loved every minute of our short stopover. The service was excellent, very informative on the history of the establishment. Huge wine selection and the most delicious food. Attention to detail in every aspect. Highly recommended.
Had a nice stay and especially enjoyed the dinner. One fault, the room we were in has a very modern shower, but if such a good shower is built in, the pressure of the water must also be strong enough, maybe the owners can pay attention to this.
Exceptional hospitality from the moment you step in and a pleasant farm atmosphere. Besides the fact that the owner and his wife are personally involved and make you feel at home, the staff are also very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea with several home baked cakes...not to mention the exceptional 5 course meal served in style that evening...if that wasn't enough, the breakfast stood out! Many thanks to the Lombards for all your involvement...we will visit again and introduce your guest house widely.

The Oude Kraal is one of the exceptionally good guest houses in Bloemfontein. The rooms are large, comfortable and luxuriously furnished. The food is excellent and the service is special.
We had a fantastic stay at De Oude Kraal Country Estate. Staff very friendly, rooms clean and spacious. Pet friendly, beautiful gardens. Our room looked onto eland and sable drinking at a waterhole. The highlight of our stay was our 7 course dinner. Fine dining.
Great food. Friendly service. Rooms are comfortable but still make you feel like you are on a farm! Great experience!
We had a great stay and enjoyed it very much. Everyone is very friendly and accommodated us with our requests.
This is now the third time we've stayed here on our regular long trips, but the first time we've slept in an upgraded unit, which unfortunately (disappointingly) doesn't compare to the standard newer units. For the travelers who still have to continue the journey the next morning to Gauteng, unfortunately breakfast starts a little late, but is otherwise of an equally high standard.
We had a very nice stay. The 5-course meal is a winner! The staff could be a little better trained and the room needs some maintenance.
