Lovely house on the main street and walking distance from the restaurant and beach.
It is a beautiful house with all the amenities and a lovely view of Hondeklip Bay. Janene helped us when a problem arose and also when we forgot some of our clothes there. Will definitely want to stay here again.

Never been there before and was very surprised.
Would not recommend for 6 adults as there is only one bathroom. Nice indoor grill and well equipped kitchen. Nice big freezers and fridges.

The geyser was just not turned on before our arrival, and cold showers were our fate at first. The people are friendly and helpful.

We had a good meal at the Kreef and Dop. Wind was chilly however the children enjoyed the beach and we had a beautiful sunset.

Very nice stay. Road to Hondeklip Bay is a nightmare. Asked on Facebook for the best route. Got a lot of reactions and many different opinions. But this is a part we have never visited.

Nice getaway to relax and just be peaceful, away from the busy destinations that are sometimes just too busy if you really want to relax. And also that dogs are welcome makes it much more convenient for our people who like to take them with them.
Thanks for the stay in another house. We was disappointed on the double booking, but the owner gave us a nice and comfortable house to stay into. We was so prepared to stay at De Swarte Mossel
A chilled, no frills venue with a fire-pit, DStv and indoor braai, just make sure you bring some drinking water and order ice ahead of time as water and ice can be in short supply in Hondelkipbaai we discovered...but Petro did manage to sort us out with copious amounts of ice in the end.
The house is somewhat away from town, yet still part of this quiet West Coast town. If you enjoy a glass of wine on the deck you overlook the ocean, 'n shipwreck somewhat to the right and further to your right is a lighthouse. We would love to go there again and if we could we would buy the house!
De Swarte Mossel is a comfortable house for a few days in Hondeklip Bay. The house is very neatly furnished and the beds are a bonus. The fenced yard provides peace of mind for our dogs.
House needs to be renovated and cleaned better.

My foreign visitor and I used Hondeklipbaai as a a base from which to visit Namaqua National Park with the aim of seeing succulents in the park. The house is basic, but fully equipped and clean. The diversity of succulents are astounding!
